What type of router and desktop do you have? Mac? Windows? Vista?

Yeah, some Routers have firewalls installed inside to if, and you have to configure the firewall to not block a certain program, this is known as port forwarding www.portforward.comThis link shows you step by step with your router Hope it helps :]

I don't think it has anything to do with my router because I tried port forwarding and it didn't make any differnce and I have had my router forever - The only new thing I have gotten on my comp is Avg over nortan and even when its 100% off It still doesn't work ) confused

Open up command prompt,
type
ipconfig
take the default gateway and copypaste into your address bar. O:
