*Snorts* Hey Santi, I think ya made a mistake. Ya ain’t got more’n me and I sure as heck ain’t sweet.
Now, now, what have I told you about your language, hmm?

Well, since you’re here, Welcome. Welcome to my little corner of (wry sneer) paradise. The oh so charming fellow over there with the adorable freckles and monkey tail is called Dai (which ironically enough means “Beloved”)
Don’t mind him too awfully much. He’s usually more polite and intelligent then he sounds right now. He’s just had a bad day, the poor dear. * ruffles his chocolate locks affectionately, while he pouts. Then glares as he looks angrily at the nice visitors.* Now Dai, BEHAVE.
Any who, here’s a bit of info about my lovely guy(s):

Dai is a walking, talking, living bundle of contradictions. It’s a wonder he’s sane and functional. Underneath a *slightly* prickly exterior (well okay, extremely prickly), he’s a very gentle sweetheart. *Taps forefinger against lips in a contemplative gesture.* You know, Dearling, you really should have been a porcupine, at least then you’d have had an excuse for your oh so charming personality.

Name: Dai (“Beloved” in case you weren’t paying attention)

Type: AnaMonkey

Position: Uke * And Just ‘cause I’m an Uke doesn’t mean I can’t kick you’re a** *face palms with a barely audible groan* Here we go again. Watch your language and play nice Dearling

Mate: *Looks amused* like he’d be able to find or keep a mate with an attitude and personality like his. * looks sideway at the uke who has a very bland look on his face.* well, at least not yet.
Hey, I resemble that .
*Heaves a sigh of great patience and long suffering.* Of course Dearling, that’s why I said it

Likes: Reading (generally sci-fi and fantasy to cover up the fact that he’s a true romantic at heart and adores classical romances such as Pride and Prejudice, and Jane Eyre), Triple triple peppermint white chocolate mochas with extra foam and whip cream (he’s a barista), being spoiled, semes who are willing to not only put up with his b.s. but to look beyond it

Dislikes: Being thought of as a stereotypical uke, being treated as an object rather than a person, being groped, the evening shifts at the café when not working at the register

Personality: *throws his head back and snottily says* I’ m not shy nor am I antisocial. I’m quiet and reserved, there is a huge difference.
Well, whatever. He’s tough enough to almost seem like a seme at, times, but he’s totally uke. He loves to be spoiled. He hides an insecure streak a mile wide beneath a cocky attitude. He is extremely intelligent and cultured, enjoying philosophical convo’s, but do not get him started on subjects he’s passionate about, unless you’ve got all day to listen to him rant..

* Mock offended look.* Moi? I do not rant. I, uh…. Ok fine. I do rant.

Any how, he does not form attachments to anyone or anything very easily, and once he does find a mate, it will be a forever kind of deal.

RP: absolutely. If you're interested send a pm

Background

It was going to be one of those days, Dai just knew it. His hand stilled against the door of the cafe as he hesitated for just a moment. Rent was due this week and with the paychecks from his two jobs this payperiod would barely be enough to cover his half of the rent, and his roommate wasn't much better off.

Steeling himself for a long night of leering and groping and being treated as an object rather than a person- with his luck and from the crappy way his day had gone, he just knew he was going to be stuck on the floor all night- he opened the door.

The cafe was always popular, therefore always busy. He pushed his way through the masses and made his way to the counter and towards the back room. His best friend was manning the espresso machine and his roommate was at the cash register. He groaned -that left him on the floor.
*I think I really just hate my life right now*. Well, at least he was with friends tonight, if nothing else, he was greatful for that. His roomie looked up from the register, face brimming with sympathy. He shrugged it off and hurried to sign in. The quicker he got to work, the sooner this day from hell would end and he could curl up on the loveseat at the apartment with a cup of tea and his favorite book and unwind.

Though often at the end of the day he barely had the energy and drive to take a shower and go to bed, Dai wouldn't trade his current life for anything. He was living on his own, supporting himself- something he was told he'd never be able to do, and he didn't have to sell his body or soul to do so. Which, if he'd mated his da's boss' son- no matter how sexy or friendly- was just what he'd have been doing.

No, he was much happier just scraping by. Even if he absolutley abhorred the jobs which gave him this freedom. It also brought a smile to his face to think of his da's face if he ever learned that his precious son worked at a lowly cafe or, better yet, as a dancer at a small club. Not exotic or stripping- he'd made that very clear when he'd taken the job- but as an entertainer,a common uke on the dancefloor with the rest of the masses.

Even though it meant he had to trample his pride, he was a noble son of a noble lineage and as such above most of the masses, he also had to accept the gropes and leering with a smile on his face, when really all he wanted to do was put his fist through most of their faces.

Shaking off the unwanted, unwelcomed thoughts, he opened his paychecks for this period, hoping he'd made enough to pay his half of this month's rent. With a relieved sigh, he saw there was just enough. This couldn't continue though, he realized. He was now barely scraping by. He was too proud to ask for help, even though he knew very well he could get it, so he decided to start looking for a new place to stay that was cheaper before the month was out. He would help his roommate to find someone to take his place, it was the least he could do for the one who'd helped him so much, but by the end of the month he'd be gone.
