"Munthrek!" "Ghontix rhyeax!"
Some little kids made fun of her. Normal spellscales always made fun of her. She was different. She looked human.
On a normal day, she would've changed herself into an ogre and chased them down the street but she felt like she was supposed to meet someone. Ignoring the pests, she walked slowly down the street as it headed towards the edge of town. Hopefully whoever it was would get there before she had to enchant someone's kids..

Alphonse walks along, treating this day just as any other. He had ventured off to a human town for a little while, since he looked just like them. Human children usually ended up staring at him in curiosity, others would curse at him and shoo him away. It wasn't everyday that he made his heritage known, but today was different. Someone had pushed the wrong button, so he used his power to manipulate the ground, encasing some poor child's feet in cement. Making his way back to his home town, he grumbles some obscenities under his breath, shaking his head.

Nearing the town gate, Kiyoko kneeled to the ground and started drawing pictures in the dirt there. Most of it was Draconic, all the mean names she had been called. Waving her hand over the words, she caused them to start floating in the air and spinning around her before she waved her hand through them, dispelling them.
Turning to look back on the town, she saw the little children's eyes peeking at her from behind a building. She picked up a handful of dirt only to let it trickle back to the ground. When the children looked up from the small pile, she was a good ways outside the gate. She followed the road, curious to where it went.

It wasn't long until he heard some familiar sounds, telling him he was close. He normally used the sounds of nature to navigate his way around. Turning his eyes to the ground, the boy watches his feet as he continues on. The walk was rather tiring for him.

Herself not watching where she was going, Kiyoko ran into Alphonse. Being shorter, she hit her head on his chin and bounced off of him to the ground. "Pothoc munthrek!" slipped out in Draconic before she looked up at him. "Watch where you're going!" Standing up, she started dusting herself off.

Blinking a few times, an angered glare crosses Alphonse's eyes. He wasn't quite fluent in speaking Draconic, but he understood it perfectly well.
"I'd watch who you're calling a 'stupid human', little girl." His voice wasn't exactly friendly either. A bad day gone worse was how he was looking at this.

"And I'd watch who you're calling a 'little girl', munthrek." She rubbed the top of her head. "Just because you know Draconic doesn't make you any tougher than I am. Atleast I have the scales to prove how tough I am.." If one looked closer at her skin, they would see it was really very smooth scales. She waved her hand as she walked past him. "You're excused.."

Grumbling lgihtly to himself, he continues to walk. Moments later, the ground begins to shake, taking a different form. Just in front of Kiyoko, a solid rock wall appears. This kind of landscape manipulation was what he specalized in. A small smirk crosses his face as he continues to walk away.
"Who needs scales, shydia pandryl*?" Yet another skill of his arose. Not only did he look human, he also was multilingual. During a period of time where he was shunned by both races, he went off and learned some other ancient languages.
*Dirty dragon. Yes, I'm using elven again lol

Picking up a nearby rock, Kiyoko turned around and threw it at Alphonse's head. "Why are you going that way, anyway?" she called. "Everyone knows Spellscales are to proud to talk to bland humans.. The little ones with cement your feet to the ground before you know it.." Repeating the spell she used to get away from the little lizards, Kiyoko popped out of the ground near the man.
"What did you call me, anyway?"

Taking a short, swift step to his left, the rock breezes right past his ear. A grin crosses his face as he continues walking, not paying much attention to what the girl is doing.
"An ancient race such as yourself doesn't know the ancient languages?" A small hint of amusement was showing in his voice. "It's ancient elven, bafoidrih vrak." The little draconic he was able to speak, were mostly insults, but it worked in times he needed it.

She followed him, scowling. "Stop calling me a child. I'm one of the oldest naturally aged Spellscales. And being of such race, I don't feel the need to study any language other than magic." She continued to follow him towards the town for a minute or two before saying, "Fronah vucota yth re ti zezhuanth.. So either you know nothing or you're hiding something.."

"More ancient than the humans know themselves for," Alphonse quicky retorted. "And I apologize, for calling you child. It gets to be difficult to determine age of some Spellscales for me. They tend to... look alike, after a while."

Kiyoko was a little shocked that he apologized but she tried to push that aside. "How often are you around Spellscales to say that? And why would you want to be?"

Not suprised at the reaction, Alphonse continues on his walk as he speaks. "Not nearly as often as I like to be," he said with a sigh. "Most my time is spent away from the town. It seems to me that the Spellscales don't like a full bodied human version of them around, and humans just end up pissing me off." Another grumble comes out from under his breath, being an unintelligable(sp?) elven insult. "So most my time is devoted to learning other species' languages and whatnot. Not much time to develop my abilities beyond what you have seen."

"You're.. Spellscale?" She looked at him trying to see some hint to this new race that he claimed to be. "And I know they don't like me- I mean.. Us around. All their fancy colors and us human-looking ones are too bland for them..."
