Yay! We're ALIVE! I think I'm going to just start making banners for guild contest wither they ask for them or not. . . that is if I have the time. I will try to come up with something for this though. I've gotten to lazy with not doing contests :/

Yeah, I think we're lacking in contests right now. And that was why I started this guild in the first place. D'you think people'd enter a contest to write a fairy tale/nursery rhyme? That's my latest idea.

Possibly. Are you posting contests in the main forum?

Only a Blender

It’s cold today, too cold to have a yard sale, and yet here I sit. There are people here too, I would have never expected there to be this many. September isn’t really the time of year to be rummaging around at a yard sale is it? I’m happy though, happy to finally be out of the dusty room, happy that I can see the sun light again and happy that I could be picked.

I’ll be good, I promise. I’m sturdy and reliable, I can take just about anything that you can throw at me. The people who made me thought I was good, the man whose lawn I know rest on thought that I was good, please, let someone else see that I am good. All I want is a home, a place where people will use me and love me and I will be an important part of their lives. So please, please someone pick me up off of this cheap table and give me a home.

Forever it seems I’ve been looking at the leaves changing colors, watching silently from this my perch on an old table no doubt bought at a yard sale such as this. A few people looked at me, but simply continued on, not caring enough to even pick me up. I haven’t done anything wrong, so why won’t anyone pick me. All around me I see my fellow appliances leave me one by one. They were all chosen by someone who wants to take them home to love and cherish, but no one wants a stupid old blender so why are my hopes so high?

How could I have really expected someone to come and pick me when there are so many other great things all around me? There are ties and shirts, children’s toys and puzzles. Who am I kidding? Anything here is more fun than I am. This will be the rest of my life, waiting in some smelly basement in a molding box until I am once again taken out to be put up for sale where no one will ever by me. I will relive this again and again for the rest of my life, or until the man gets rid of me. Who would need an old blender like me? I’m not so great, I’m just the plain little nobody.

Wait, what’s going on? I can feel hands, delicate hands but not without their own warmth. They’re lifting me up off of the table, they belong to a young woman. She’s very pretty, her long blonde hair falling in waves about her warm and smiling face, her blue eyes looking at nothing else but me and her lovely pink lips curved into the softest smile that is turned to only me. Gently she looks me over, being very careful that she does not drop me. I can feel my doubts begin to vanish, all my fear is melting away at the touch of this wonderful woman. She’s taking me away from the table, up to the man that has owned me for most of my life. I watch her hand him the money he asks for before looking down at me and giving me the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. Without a single word she tucks me lightly under her arm and begins to walk towards the street, no doubt to her car to head back home.

She sets me down into the passenger seat beside her and makes sure that I won’t fall and still smiling starts the car and drives. I feel so much joy fill up inside me. I’m happy, I love this woman who came and rescued me from a horrible fate that I would have to endure had I been left sitting on that table. So lost in my thoughts of joy I do not feel the car stop, nor do I notice the woman reach into the back seat. She straightens up again to reveal the now brightly colored bag in her hands. Very delicately she picks me up and slides me into this bag, and again my world goes dark.

Now I’m scared, I can’t see and all around me I can feel the swaying of the bag as I hear her get out of the car and begin to walk. I don’t know how long I was in that bag, nor where exactly I went, I just know that I spend a long time in that dark bag. All around me I could hear voices and wanted so badly to see beyond the blackness of the bag. Then, all at once I felt a pair of smaller hands take hold of me and pull me up out of the bag. In the light I could see the face of a teenage girl light up as she laid eyes on me. Quickly her eyes darted from me to the pretty woman whom had purchased me and slowly it all began to make sense to me. I was a gift. I was meant to be a gift for this girl who was now excitedly hugging the blonde woman. All around me there was joy of the gift she had received, and that gift had been me. I had brought someone happiness. Maybe, my life would be a good one, even though I am still only a sturdy and reliable blender.

Incidentally, you're looking very Japanese, Zenai.

Hey, guys, c'mon, nobody's entering! It's depressing me! I'm depressed! When I get depressed I turn to alcohol! You don't want that, do you?

Eheh... just... can people please enter some more?

Hey Annetia! As a welcome back parade, I'll contribute to this contest. smile

The Blender

Hanna bit her lip nervously. She bounced up and down on her heels. She could almost hear the clock ticking from far across the room. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick.

It was incessant.

Hanna looked at the people around her. In a seat to her left, was a girl with long dark hair and bright blue eyes. She was very slender and very tall with a soft complexion. She was hideous.

Looking in the mirror across from her, Hanna saw that she, too, was hideous. Her hair was blond and cropped short. Her nose was short and narrow, and her lips were too big. Her eyes were a mix between brown and green, and she was way too short.

She tore her eyes away from the mirror that she rarely looked at, and looked to her right. There was a boy sitting in that chair, the same age as Hanna. His eyes were too far apart, and his cheeks bulged. His teeth were crooked and Hanna had to look away.

A small bell sounded and the door behind Hana opened. She nearly fell backwards as it swung open, and would have fallen to the ground if the person that was coming through hadn't placed a hand on her back to steady her.

"Careful there." Said a smooth voice by her ear. Hanna quickly steadied herself and spun around. She came face to face with a gorgeous man who looked about in his early twenties. It took her breath away how beautiful he was.

He smiled with perfectly straight teeth, and she stood, dazzled.

Without looking away from her he said, "Group Three dash Forty Six, your up." He smiled again, and it took Hanna a couple deep breaths to realize she was part of that group.

She looked behind her, and saw that the two people that were sitting next to her as were there. They all followed the man through the doorway and down a friendly looking hallway.

The three teens all seemed nervous.

After a couple twists and turns, they arrived at a well disguised metal door. "Just go on in through there, and take your seats in the Blender." The dazzling man said. The three nodded, and went into the room. Three chairs were placed in a triangle in the center, firmly molded to the floor.

Once they were seated they hear a metallic voice.

"Welcome to the Blender, where all people are created equal. You three have been chosen because of your contrasted looks and complimentary physical attributes. Once the Blending process begins, you will be restrained in your chairs so that it will not be interrupted. Welcome to a better life," Here the voice changed a little. "Janessa, Hanna, and Nolan."

A loud sound started in the walls and they began to rotate. Hanna felt straps emit from the chair and hold her in place. Her breathing became rapid as excitement and fright overwhelmed her.

The walls rotated extremely fast, and an electric blue light filled the room. It smelled like roasting marshmallows. Hanna closed her eyes and waited for it to be over.

***

Hanna, Janessa, and Noel emerged from the door way and into the waiting room. There was an audible gasp from the hideous occupants of it. Hanna glanced at the mirror and gasped herself.

Her hair was perfectly straight, shoulder length, and a soft blonde color. Her eyes were blue and precisely placed upon her face. Her lips were smaller and a soft pink. She looked at Janessa's reflection. She looked the same.

They were no longer hideously ugly. They were perfect. They were blended.
