Spring had sprung, as the saying wen't. The air was just starting to hint at perfume from any number of gardens, but the slight chill of winter still clung to the air. Drawing a slow breath she admired the land arround her, the garden damp and everything had a fresh coat of moisture clinging to it. A few stubborn clouds drift lazily off to the eastern sky and meet the rising sun. Grudgingly, they disappear into the horizon leaving the sun dominion in its azure kingdom. Slowly, mist was begining to rise with the warmth of a new day.
Holding her book close to her chest Saniya descended from the front steps of the house she shared with Trivii, the jeans she was wearing felt abnormally tight on her legs, as the length of winter hadn't even begun to give her time to acclimate to the masculine style of the garment chafing her skin. However the mud left over from the nights rain didn't allow for skirts. And the weather was still chill enough for her to tug her jacket closed over her delicate poets blouse.
The walk had become much a routine for her, out to the lake where she would sit and read a chapter before enjoying a slow walk home. Despite the chill in the early spring air Saniya found that staying in doors was as difficult for her as climbing a mountain, the sun on her face and the gentle song of the water that raced just beneath the surface. Carefully gliding along well worn paths, Saniya made her way towards the edge of town.

((I know this is waaay late but should you still be up for RP I figured I might as well post. ^^; Satehl needs more development as he's almost a mystery to me.))
He'd finally gotten used to his height. Since his return to Masquerade a lot of things had changed for Satehl. First and foremost his body had literally grown an additional few feet and transformed him from boy to teen in an instant. Certainly it hadn't been a very painless transition and he had wound up needing to invest in an entire new wardrobe but. . . . at least he was back home.
And this was home, wasn't it? He had to remind himself of this after falling witness to the transformation of the colony. It wasn't just a small hodge-podge group any longer - such podge had become something greater. There were more people, more masque's and a helluvalot he just plum didn't understand.
So much for a happy homecoming. . . .
Not that he wasn't glad to be back, oh no! It was just and adjustment and seemed to be taking longer than he would have liked. Ah, but today was a new day, wasn't it? Like he had done as a child, the blitz mask wasted no time in digging up trouble. On top of that he wanted nothing more than to explore. . . there were still uncharted plots of land out there and Satehl was going to be THE FIRST to find them.
Maybe.
Possibly.
It seemed everyone had a few years head start but numbers and statistics never intimidated the lad. Stretching as he pushed his way out of Uta and his little hut, violet eyes observed the coold morning. The sun had yet to warm up the world and everything seemed quiet, peaceful. With half of the village retired and not quite yet awake, things didn't feel so out of place or strange for Satehl. When not faced personally with regret and a magnitude of "what if's" everything was fantastic.
So today he began anew.
There were rivers he wanted to conquer, and research had shown that small falls and rapids weren't far. Conquering water was something the boy had yet to do . . . and today could very well be it. Thinking of water, a flash of blue captured his intrigue. Of all those to be out and about he wouldn't have expected to see Saniya~! Shroud in jeans of all things. . . . Well hot damn. It was a miracle.
Rarely rushed or concerned, Satehl took off at an easy lope, his long strides and relaxed gait allowing him to meet up with Saniya near the edge of town. Intercepting her, but not wanting to halt her completely should she be object to company, the tall and gangly teen summoned his most good-humored charm. If you're trying to escape the colony without being caught, I fear such plans have been foiled. As an afterthought but with complete sincerity, M'lady.
There. ChARM. M'lady was the word when it came to such things and those of the female persuasion. . .or so Satehl believed. Yes, he honestly COULD be a gentleman and full of social grace and charm (he'd had a lot of time to read during his travels and many a book portrayed such gentleman) but this morning was not one of them. Yet.
It was far, far too early and Saniya still that much an acquaintance. He was here to make friends and renew such relationships not give them an untimely and horrific death.

Would the day warm? Would today finally begin to feel like Spring? The thought curved her lips behind the mask and brought a sparkle to her cerulean eyes, as her small feet moved one in front of the other as though strolling across a balance beam.
Dropping her eyes to the cover of her book, her first notice of her company came when the shadow sprang up, enveloping her arms and the books cover.
Shocked. The teen whirled to face the taller Masque, her heart racing she blinked.
Satehl.
He certainly hadn't looked or acted in the past like someone to indulge in early mornings.
M'lady?
The rest of his accusation took a moment to fully reach her as warmth flooded the skin beneath her mask. She had to remind herself how to speak, swallowing she lifted her book and jerked her head towards the lake.
Tease him back, she told herself, but she felt like a deer caught in headlights. 'Nothing too sinister, thought I would sabotage the colony by playing hooky.... Dodge my chores... read a book.'
Could she be more lame? Saniya nearly hit herself, would have too, if not for her lanky audience.
