Strawberry Shake Sweet~by Hayashiya Shizuru~ Highly recommended! This is a total favorite of mine <3, along with Girl Friends.
Hayashiya Shizuru has a zany sense of humor and writes this manga targeted toward a female audience--for girls, by girls. This doesn't mean that you have to be a chick to enjoy it, but it's definitely a little bit of a chick-flick type of manga. :]kageling Basically, the story centers around an established idol (model/actress/etc.), Tachibana Julia, who is asked to take a newcomer idol-in-training under her wing. Julia thinks that this will be a huge hassle and outright refuses to train the new girl, turning and storming out of the office. But, when she opens the door, it turns out that the new idol, Asakawa Ran, was just coming in--and she's ridiculously cute! Someone decides to amend her decision.
The manga explores the relationship between the girls and the feelings they have for each other. There are tons of other cute gay girls in the story--coworkers, stylists, an all-les JRock band--and one notable straight(?) manager who's surrounded by crazy people (lesbians!). As I said before, Hayashiya really doesn't include much fanservice in this manga. Well, not the typical revealing clothes and sexually suggestive situation ones. They're more the types of things that girls would shriek over--adorable and silly situations and crush-type "omg" moments. I don't know about anyone else, but I've been reduced to a giggly pile on the floor on some of these. XD;
One thing I really like about this series is that characters actually identify themselves as lesbian rather than skirting around in the "I'm-straight-but-I-just-happen-to-like-her" way. In fact, one of the characters says flatly, "Oh no, I definitely like her because she's a girl. >D" They look a little more les too. 8D Not in the stereotypical way; there's just an edge to their styles that makes it more believable.
This series is currently being scanslated by Lililicious. Strawberry Shake Sweet is an extremely popular shoujo-ai serialization and comes highly recommended, both from me and from the people who recommended it to me in the first place. It's adorable, promise.

I'm also rather a fan of Kaoru, she's such a flirt and it's totally appealing to me. Saeki Ryoko is also lots of fun for me as a character, the poor girl is tortured left and right by lesbianism run amok. XD She should just give in and be with Kaoru already, she's even revealed her kinky side in the New Year's special. >D

haha, kaoru reminds me of my one friend so much...its kinda funny >.< and i like how they say " oh yeah, she ate me" like so offhandedly XD
oooh, the whole z-lay thing is kinda funny too...theres so much going on in this

I know, right? "Back then, this girl and I...this girl...ate me." Which leaves me at least wondering if that means...or if it's something a little more mild. Heheh!
ZLAY is awesome just because....they're ZLAY! I don't even know how to begin on them, haha. But the vocalist's overly precise clairvoyance is totally hilarious.
I've read everything that's been translated like three or four times by now~ It's terrible but so addictive. I never get tired of the silliness!

dang...itd be funny if it doesnt actually mean what i think it means...XD like how i always misinterpret what my friends say because of my over imaginative mind ;P

I think Ran-chan is my favorite character, although I can't really be sure. How can you pick a favorite character between Ran, Julia, and the manager? Almost every character in the series is awesome...
The Matrix moment is hillarious, and, seriously the conversations between Julia and her manager are just too funny to be left behind.

I love Hayashiya's humor, though, everyone completely contributes to the insanity and yet it's all so adorable.
Hazumu- Julia's totally hilarious, I love her reactions to everything. Especially when she cut her finger. =x Ahh I wanted to cry hahaha.

Oi. I've been looking for some good Shoujo-Ai manga to read and this one has caught my interest. Honestly, from what I read it looks cute and adoreable and really straight forward. I'll have to give my two cents on it once I start reading it. =D

It's so awesome! It's so super cute, I love it! heart heart heart Aww, Julia, you try so hard to get your Ran-chan, but in all the wrong ways (like covering her in flowers). Enomoto Haruna is just as cute. Her desperate attempts at getting Kaoru are just as cute as Julia's insane attempts at getting Ran. ^_^
And Ryou, oh Ryou (lead singer of Zlay). She is so open about the whole thing. Like some kind of yuri expert. She's so cool! xd
Now, what could they mean by "eat"? ninja
