ok, I write strange little stories all the time - and they're always way too long for any contests. This is a rather short one [they're usually over 30 pages and still nowhere near completed.. domokun
This one's a rush job, but I'd still like to hear what you have to say.
Tell me what ya think =D! :

Marco's Gym Class

Have you ever wondered about the different cliques in your high school gym class? A random mix of students forced to perform exercises and "rigorous" tasks in an old t-shirt and shorts while a strange old man watches with his arms folded? I don't know about you, but there's always at least one klutz in each class around here; and I happen to be one of them.
Therefore, not only do I make a fool out of myself, but at least one person from each clique is there to see it. That means, if it's "hilarious" enough, it will be spread throughout the whole school.
Well, enough thinking. How about I just give you a peak at today's events.

Marco rounded the corner, heading through the small corridor that connects the locker rooms with the gymnasium. He passed the small coaches office, heading straight past the weight room and to the double doors. He pulled on the metal handle, stepping back to let it open full-swing. As he stepped back his heel caught on the doorstopper, stopping him dead in his tracks while still pulling on the door.
The door hit the front of his poor, stuck foot, making him bend over forwards, hitting his head on the door before falling back onto the ground with a thud.
"You ok there, Marco?" Adam asked, walking up to him from the boys' locker room, heading out into the gym. He smiled a bit, reaching a hand down to help Marco to his feet.
"Yeah, just a little caught up is all." Marco replied, rubbing his head. A small scratch had taken up residence on his forehead from a chip on the door.
Adam advised him, “ You should go to the nurse’s office and get a band-aid. The last thing you want during volleyball is blood getting in your eyes.”
At this Marco nodded, turning back towards the locker room while Adam retreated out the door. “ I’ll tell Mr. Magnino you’re at the nurse’s.”

Coming back from the nurses, Marco opened the door, watching the doorstopper, and stepped out into the gym. He proceeded to Mr. Magnino, and asked him which team he was on. The old gym teacher pointed across the gym, in the far left corner.
Marco nodded, turning a little and walking up the sidelines by the bleachers to the court that had been pointed out.
Once at the court, Marco asked someone on the team closest to him where he went. He told him to go to the other side, and so that’s exactly what Marco did; front and center.
Now, the thing about Marco is that he cannot set a ball for his life. But, he can bump better than anyone in the class. So, even in the front where setting is proper, Marco has to bump the ball. This often causes problems like running into the person behind him, or just plain hitting it across the entire gymnasium.
The player in the back right corner of Marco’s team, who happens to be Adam, serves the ball overhand to the other side. A girl in the middle row sets it over, straight to Marco. He goes to bump it lightly, and it soars over the net across the gymnasium, smacking a kid in the back while playing. The kid falls flat on his face, and the rest of the players on that court stop and stare at Marco.
” Sorry!” Marco yelled across the room, helplessly. He never means to hit anyone, even though he averages about four per game.
The boy who was hit smiles and gives Marco a thumbs up. “ No problem.” He replies apathetically.
The teams go back to playing, and it’s Marco’s opponents’ turn to serve. A girl with long blonde hair serves underhand, landing in the back row next to Adam. “ Troy!” Adam yelled to the stringy boy with dark hair. Troy moved to the left and bumped the ball over. It was received by a large brunette boy in the back, who set it straight forward without effort.
Marco readied himself for the ball, raised his arms to bump it, and missed! His arms went over his head as the ball descended on him, making a large thudding sound on his chest.
He staggered, then slowly fell with weak knees, like a foal that had walked for the first time.
The assigned referee blew his whistle, as half the team crowded around Marco on the floor.
“Are you ok, Marco?” Adam asked, once again reaching a hand down to his friend. He pulled Marco up, but only to a sitting position; he was a bit light headed.
“He’s got the wind knocked out of him.” Came a sweet voice. Marco looked up and saw Alexa, a dark haired girl with bright blue eyes, standing over him worriedly. “ Geez, Brent! You didn’t have to smack the ball that hard!”
Marco just stared up at her.
Mr. Magnino came over to the court, jogging with the whistle rustling up against his shirt. “Alexa, help him to the bench in the hallway and get him a drink.” He said, staring down at the poor boy. “ He’ll be fine in a few minutes.”
Alexa nodded, and took an arm to help him to his feet. Adam grabbed the other arm to get him upright. Then Alexa led him down by the bleachers and out a double door into the hallway, where she sat him down on a bench leaned against the wall.
“I’ll be right back” she said, proceeding further down the hallway to the bubbler.
She came back a minute later with a cup of water, handing it down to Marco as she sat next to him.
“Thank you.” He said, fighting to get the words out. He took a sip, but since he still couldn’t breathe quite right, ended up choking a bit. He lurched forward and sputtered about half of his sip. Alexa put the water down and asked if he was ok. He said yes, still choking, and sat back, leaning his head against the wall with eyes closed.
Alexa smiled, putting a hand on his shoulder. At that he opened his eyes and turned to look at her.
Still smiling, she said, “ You’ve had a rough day haven’t you?” She noted. Marco smiled.
“Yeah, seems so.” He replied, noticing the extent of today’s mishaps.
He looked down at his leg; there was a large bruise on his knee where he had been shoved into a desk in first period. Just below it on his shin was a scar, about three inches long, with a smaller one beside it. He noted his left arm, which he had cut in chem.-lab when his partner dropped a beaker. This combined with his band-aid-adorned forehead and lack of breathing ability made him seem like he had been beaten. It was actually quite funny to him, so he chuckled a bit, making it even harder for him to draw breath.
Alexa watched him worriedly, and then smiled again.
“You know, that happens to me too.” Alexa said. Marco looked at her confusedly.
She answered his look by lifting some hair by her ears, revealing a band-aid on the far side of her cheek. Then she bent down and turned her leg to the side, showing a large thin scar running across it. Alexa rolled up her sleeve to show her shoulder, which had a bruise on it.
“ Pre-Calc.” She said, smiling.
They sat there, showing scars and telling stories of how they’d gotten them for a while, until Adam came out.
“ You guys should get back in here before Magnino gets more ticked off!” he warned. The two of them just smiled, and rose from their seats. Alexa put one of Marco’s arms around her shoulder, and the three of them walked back through the double doors.

ever so random, but hey, I was bored. heart

Aww, that's cute. Sounds basically like my experiences in PE, though perhaps without all the people wanting to help. Mostly for me, they just point and laugh when I get hit in the face with a football. sad

Oh, that IS cute.
I am almost the same way in phys. ed. But we've all had our days. Too bad for me it never turns out like it did for the people in your story. Cute.

It's pretty good, I liked it. I loved your word choice in some parts.
