I have wanted to go to PEI all my life. it just seems so far off and enchanted and yet i am canadian and i could get there relatively easily. So my question is, has anyone been? do you live there? can you post pictures?

Prince Edward Island is home sweet home for me; I grew up there but had to move away when my dad found a higher paying job in the States. I'm from Charlottetown and I can honestly say that I've never lived anywhere nicer (and I've moved a LOT, to Vancouver, Toronto, Antigonish, Charlottetown, and New York). Even rural Antigonish couldn't match the laid-back lifestyle on the Island.
It's not what it used to be, though. A lot of big-box stores (including Wal-Mart) moved in while I was living there. I always hated shopping there, but my mother and many other people that I know insisted that it was easier. Charlottetown's just not the same quiet little town it used to be. The countryside, though, hasn't changed much at all and I doubt it ever will.
If you ever do go to P.E.I., make sure to visit Cow's Ice Cream. It's the best in Canada biggrin .
I'll see if I can scan some pictures of the rest of the island.

I also live in Canda (Ontario) and I got to go to PEI a few years ago. It is so beautiful there, oh my god. At first, I didn't want ot go at all. And we drove there, so being in a van with my aunt, cousin and mom was so NOT fun. But when we actually got there, I didn't want to come back home 3nodding
I think you should go. It's great there. So peaceful and small!

you all say such wonderful things about it and i have been checking out the governement web sites on it and it makes me want to go there all the more. my heart aches for it as anne would say. i do envy those of you who have been or live there. i want to go. i think it is the only place that might entice me to move away from my home town.
