You know, I'm part of this other guild, (which shall renameless) It's supposed to be for anyone into Cyber/industrial/rave music. But every everyone there is so vain... more like" let's play dress up and see how cyber goth we can be today!!!"
What happened to being into a scene for the music? Really? What happened to dressing a certain part of a scene that belonged with the music? What happened to people actually caring about the scene and supporting bands? Buy cd's, or buy dloads of it. I mean, the industrial scene is doing alright, but what about the up and coming artists? Hardly anyone wants to supports the newer acts or gives them a chance. There are alot of people who support bands at shows and at clubs but there are still alot who dont.
It really sucks. Where are the real people, and not the dress up dolls?

I agree that it doesnt neccessarily matter how you dress. People listen to what they want, but it makes it easy to recognize someone who listens to something similar. Unless you get those scene kids who listen to s**t like MSI or whatever and dress cyber or goth... Then you're like, "oh hey, do you like..I dont know....Icon of Coil or Panzer AG?" And they're like, "Oh, I like all thier stuff. I can pick a favourite. I <3 MSI and Daft Punk! Tee hee!" and then you're like... scream "******** you..."

I dont mind dressing up. I enjoy it sometimes when I cooperate with myself. But, I also listen to the music, alot. The point is, I guess, is to not say you're into something or stand for something when you're not honestly into it. With music comes fashion, yes, but there was the music first.

I'm here for both. Although, I don't like dressing one way and more-so entertain thoughts of melding cyber with lots of other styles, It's still important. Electronic music has inspired the creation of many clothing styles. The more music pushes the boundaries of reality and allows someone to dress how they feel, the better.

I mean, I enjoy looking like a cyborg or some futuristic chic. I feel most confident in those clothes, and I am confortable in the. When you listen to a type or music, or, rather make a certain type of music, it helps to be a part of it. For making music, dressing a certain way can help portray it. It can be taken the same way for people who just listen to music, I believe.

Most of the cyber-wear is overpriced for the stuff that is being sold.$110 for a skirt.I think not.I'm proud to say I wear "everyday" clothes" and wear them probably when I go to shows when the occasion arises.I buy whatever merch is on table with every cent in my pocket I have, and buy the cds too.I have nothing against dressing up for a night out but get serious;people are complaining about the "scene" dying when their the ones buying the expensive falls and clothes and not the cds.Dressing up doesn't really portray anything of the music except that its "futuristic" or "post-apocalyptic" themed, and other "scenes" seem to be dressing the same nowadays so I wouldn't see the point. I hope this made sense to someone.I still wish I had that dystopia sweater from futurstate.

I hope this made sense to someone.I still wish I had that dystopia sweater from futurstate. It makes sense..but as I said, for example, live artists who dress accordingly to thier music are like a visual that goes along with it, minus projectos, ect. It makes it more interesting if you can pull it off well. For expensive clothes, that why you TRY to look for cheaper sites...yes, they are few and far between but somewhere, they are there. I agree with you that there are too many people concerned with fashion than the music but that's why I started this thread. Yes, other scenes are borrowing, and if you want you can still try to make it your own, but yes, it does seem kind of pointless. I'm not saying dress a certain way. Im not saying you have to have a uniform for listening to music. I mean, it would be nice to find someone into the same thing instead of being decieved by what they wear and finding out they listen to MCR.. And yes..the scene is dying because of the lack of support...this is why I'm not too keen on dloading...unless it's paid for and you know it goes to the actual artist. I enjoy buying cds. I still enjoy struggling with the plastic only to feel accomplishment when I finally get to look at the booklet. I enjoy buying concert shirts. That's money that goes to them, especially local artists who make s**t at shows in the first place.

People are also extremely lazy these day, also. Not many people, as far as I know, want to get out and support local bands, etc. And they are the same people who complain about the shitty local music scene. Yes, gas prices are rising but some sort of an effort would be nice, instead of just bitching.

BUT there are'nt really any industrial bands in my area. I know of 2 that are works in progress, one is the band i am working on, and the other is one a friend of mine is starting lol. Oh yeah, there is also a band in the area that has "industrial elements" but i havent gotten to see them yet, cuz they dont do many shows.
