The Green Gables' House in Cavendish? I visited it two years ago, and it was interesting. I found most of it too touristy for my tastes, though. It had a gift shop where you could buy Anne of Green Gables' shot-glasses.
The best parts of it were the locations that Montgomery herself loved. I walked through the Haunted Woods and down Lovers' Lane. I was a little upset by how much of Lovers' Lane had been cleared to make paths for walking, but that was a change that was already happening in Montgomery's time, as the owners realised they could make money off of her success.
I much preferred the McNeill homestead up the road where L.M.Montgomery lived with her grandmother and wrote during the early part of her career. I know she wrote the Story Girl there. It's still owned by relatives of hers, and it's well-worth visiting. It's just a calm, serene and beautiful place. The actual homestead no longer exists, as her uncle got tired of tourists and tore it down to get rid of them, but you can see the old trees and the gardens much as they must have been during her time.

that is really cool Wandering. someday i want to go and see all those places myself. i have lived in canada all my life and never made it to PEI
Blondekitten, its not surprising that there are houses like the green gables house in the states as the style of architecture originated in boston and moved up the coast to canada so it is a very popular style in the states. i am so into the books now that i am doing all kinds of historical research on stuff. its super fun!
