Title Reads: Hard Days, Soft Nights
(LOL PUNS)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Solia was never one for work. Sure it paid the bills and kept a roof over her head, but, protecting fat, paranoid, old men from their business bogeymen really grated on her nerves. "I swear, the next man that treats me like arm candy is going to be castrated."
She just couldn't help it. So she wore girl shirts and had....ample cleavage.
"It not like it a bad thing," Solia muttered to herself. She just kept walking from the hotel her employer was staying at. It was a nice hotel, and, it was close to her new favorite place in town. Her feet simpled walked of their own until she reached familiar doors. 'Searan's Club' was written on the doors, as were a few rules. She had been here before and liked the atmosphere and the...services it offered. It was one of the few places she didn't get odd looks. Walking in she sat at a table and looked over the menu.
A little bell jangled quietly over JJ’s head as the club door opened. He quickly looked up from his book, committed the young woman’s face to memory, noted her table and went back to reading.
He thought he recognized her, a return customer. Probably hoping to run into Brad, the young man thought wryly. Well sorry miss, its not your day…
He flipped a few more pages, giving her more then ample time to choose her order before straightening his waistcoat and slipping over.
With a friendly smile he gave the spiel; “Welcome to Searan’s Club Madame, my name is JJ and I’d be happy to take your order.” But with a quick glance at the near-empty club room he added in a low undertone “Although we’re a little understaffed today I fear, Miss.”
The waiter wiped his hands on the white apron that was tied to his waist, finally cleaning the last table in the club. Not that it mattered anyway, there were less people in here today than the previous week had brought. He straightened up his dark striped vest and looked around as he heard the faint sound of the door opening from the other side of the room. His waiter instincts kicked in as he moved swiftly to see if there were any new customers who had walked in the club.
Though another waiter had beat him to the chase.
It was the waiter called JJ. Kenta really just knew the young man by face and had heard about him from the other staff. He was a nice boy, not that it interested Kenta, though.
Solia's eyes quickly scanned the area.
JJ was right, the club was understaffed. That didn't mean she couldn't enjoy at least some small company. "Understaffed or not, I really do enjoy this place. And, from the looks of it, all those with egos or lack thereof, seem to be absent today." Solia regarded JJ with a smile. "Besides JJ, I'm upset! Am I really just another faceless customer?" Though the words were insultive, she spoke them with a gay tone and smile. "Sometimes JJ, you find the most empty of places can bring out such a calm serenity." She waved her hand absentmindedly in the air. "And besides, I'm more than content to simply ogle all the pretty boys Searan has running about."
JJ looks appalled at himself, “I’m so sorry miss! had we met before? You have me at a terrible disadvantage if so…” He can’t help but bow a little as he speaks, shocked at the idea of him forgetting a person so thoroughly. “I really do apologise, I’ll fetch you some house wine to make up for it, how about it?”
He looks around and spots the other waiter glaring at him, freezing for a moment before signaling to him quickly.
“Yes Miss, It certainly it a wonderfully peaceful place.” He smiles and stands more easily. “Although I’ll not comment on the boys if you don’t mind.”
Kenta was about to raid the kitchen and ask if anything needed to be cleaned or fixed, but from the corner of his eye he saw someone waving to him and signaling him to come closer. The waiter really saw no need for two waiters to serve one person but he wanted something to do anyways so this was a nice chance for him to have some activity for the day.
He walked slowly to the table, trying to get JJ's attention. ''Hello there miss, may I be of service to you as well?Oh, is there any problem here?''
Solia almost giggled at JJ's reaction. "Its alright JJ, I'm Solia, Solia De'Belle. And House wine sounds great, but, I'll pick up the tab, really, its an easy mistake, people do it all the time." Solia turned her attention to the other new waiter. Smiling she asked herself, though, loud enough the two waiters could hear her. "I don't suppose I could order some company. I've had a really long day, and, I need to be around guys that don't have to prove they are bigger and more macho than me."
“It’d be my absolute pleasure Ms De’Belle, if that’s what you had in mind.” JJ smiled brightly at the other waiter, trying desperately to remember his name. K, it definitely began with K... “Not a problem as such, I was just wondering if you’d care to join us? There’s not much else on in the club tonight. ” he grinned and turned to Solia with an oddly happy skip in his step. “I’ll just go fetch the red shall I? And if un-macho is what you’d like miss, I’d be more then happy to oblige you with some girl talk. Right Kenta?”
He couldn’t help winking; such was his delight at recollecting the man’s name.
Kenta had his rather trademark expression on his face as the two talked. JJ was right, there really wasn't much action tonight and since the lady had suggested for some company at this time, when no hosts were in sight, he would gladly keep her company. Though he felt rather nervous since he really had no 'host skills' as he had called it and he may be a rather boring person to talk to.
''Ah of course miss. But I must warn you.. I'm no host. But i'd be delighted to keep you company for this evening'' he said with a smooth voice as he bowed his head a little.
He then turned to the younger waiter as the boy winked at him, this gesture caught Kenta by surprise but he gave JJ a soft pat on the back as he left to retrieve some wine. ''Oh need any help?'' he called out, unsure if the other man had heard him.
Solia smiled as JJ went to fetch the wine. "It fine if your not a host. Just think of it as...expanding your skill set. After all, its always good to learn new skills." Solia began to smile. It really was nice not to have men that had a dominate stance in the room. Some people had a weak stance, the stance of innocence, or a strong stance, the stance that lost of men had, just to prove themselves. But JJ and..Kenta? They had a relaxed stance, one that could easily flow. "Most men in my life overshadow me, or dismiss me because of what I do. trust me when I say you guys are nothing like them and for that," Solia leaned back into her seat. "I'm very glad."
JJ waved back at Kenta as he retreated “Not a problem, not a problem you just relax a moment.”
The teen stood for a moment in the kitchen, trying to remember where the cellar keys were. His training hadn’t been terribly thorough in some respects and he wasn’t always sure of the club system.. Although mostly likely it was still being formed. He found the key hook next to the grill and backtracked to the basement. It was dusty and the energy saver kept it a dim yellow, the waiter found himself coughing before he’d reached the bottom step. He stood for a second to get a hold of himself before he tripped and smashed something expensive. He was so not paying anything else out of his wages.
Finding the wine rack, he dithered over two bottles and in the end he brought both, stowing the white under the kitchen counter for later. He grabbed two wine glasses and water for himself and made his way back to the others.
“Monsieur, madam, Finest house red, would the lady care to taste?” JJ was laying the waiter role on thick, jokingly. “I’d sample it myself for Madame but I do believe the management would have my head.”
Kenta gave Solia a polite bow in response to her compliment, at least, he thought it was a good compliment. Quite frankly he did not really know what to do at that moment. Should he sit down? Wait for the other waiter before dong anything else? Chat more with the woman? Evidently, the young man was not familiar with social interactions as these, as well as becoming a 'host' of some degree. He did not know the first step. He knitted his brows, a little disappointed he did not come along with the younger waiter to get the refreshments.
Thankfully JJ came with a bottle of wine, two glasses and a glass of water. It did not occur to him that they, the waiters, would be drinking as well. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, he did not do well with alcohol, even a sip was sure to transform him into a drunk fool. So this situation made him worry, he did not want to seem rude if he declined to drink with the lady.
''Same as me, waiters should not drink. Only customers should be privileged to drink the wine''
Solia wanted to laugh. "I can understand you not being allowed to drink, but Kenta really, what can a few sips do?" She tugged on Kenta's apron. "Sit, both of you." she waved her hand at JJ. "Or I'll tell Seran that his club has the worst service in town." She winked, clearly joking. "But, I will admit, he does have the best boys in town." She smiled.
She noticed Kenta's apprehension. "Why don't you just tell me about some of the hosts or the customers? Or better yet, about yourselves, I really have nothing better to do, and besides," She took the empty glass and twirled it in her hands. "I really just want a bit of company is all."
JJ laughed and sat down. “Oh should we not? I was thinking of my age.” He grinned. “I’d be all over it back home, don’t let the looks fool you! I’m not about to faint after a tipple.”
He smiled at the woman’s compliments. “I’ll be sure to pass along the message. Anything in particular you’d like to know Miss De Belle? I’m sure Kenta could tell you better about this place, I’m fairly new blood around here.”
He grinned. “How about you Miss, if you don’t mind me asking? Are you new in town?” He watched as she spun the glass. How could a pretty woman possibly be lacking company?
Kenta gave a polite bow to Solia before he sat down beside her, keeping his hands folded neatly on his lap. The woman seemed to genuinely want company and he was happy to oblige.
"Well--" he was a little hesitant to reveal how much alcohol could affect him to customers, "I can't handle drinks very well" he then shifted his attention back to JJ as he spoke. "I'd be glad to tell you more about the club.. and myself. But yes, I am quite curious about you Miss Solia." he got the bottle of wine and proceeded to pour more wine on her glass if she wished.
