Cada read the letter for the umpteeth time that day, it was mid after-noon and he was going over his usual mail. Letters from his parents rubbing it in his face how proud they were of his baby sister. She was only a year old now and he still had yet to be able to see her in person. Not that he hadn't tried many times to return home. It was just hard to get into a house that was built like a fortress when the gate guard didn't want to comply with the young master's wishes.
He had left empty handed. After renouncing his responsibilities to his family's estate it seemed he had been divorced of all things; including his family. Once his sister was born he wasn't allowed to return home, considered a disgrace and worthless. Cada on the other hand didn't care, he just wanted to see his baby sister, was that so much of a crime?
Sighing the letter he held in his hand was crumpled from constant fisting. It was like his parents were taunting him. Pissing him off enough to want to come back and take over the family business. "Like hell." He seethed and tore the letter into pieces, tossing it with a stack of shredded bills in the trashbin at his feet. Creditors, bill collectors and telemarketers were all after him for his money... sadly he had none. Without his parent's money he was nothing short of poor.
The odd jobs he took around town was working out as his soul source of fun money while his work in the Club would be saved up over time and used to for his own way of living. Screw corporate America, one less lamb to the slaughter wouldn't be missed. Reaching for the envolop the letter was in he smiled at the picture. It was his parents holding his little sister, "She's so cute." He breathed wanting to poke her cheeks but unable to do so through a photo. "Don't worry, sis, I'll save up money and come see you really soon. I hope Maddy is keeping my letters for you. When you get older she'll let you see them so you'll know not a day went by that I didn't think of you." Markers were laid out next to him on the table as he reached for a black one drawing a mustasche along his mother's upper lip. He giggled softly at how ridiculous the woman looked. Served her right for being such an p***k about her son's choice in life. Keeping siblings apart like she was doing should be punishable by death but Cada knew that wasn't likely to fly. He didn't hate his parents but desperately disliked their rebellious actions in luring him back home to take over the business. "Keep dreamin'..." He chuckled drawing a dress in place of his father's stiff business suit.
It hadn't gone without saying that his folks had arranged a meeting with him at the local Hilton. He sighed to himself figuring he'd go, if only to see his sister but he knew it was some kind of trap to get him back home and in the family business. Looking at the photo and only one person in it, he decided on going. The worst that could happen was beating his parents in the head with Mr. Happy and a bag full of candy before stealing his sister away.

Since having taken his own parent problems to Brad, Luce had found himself in a much better emotional place; he smiled more, frowned less, and slept infinitely better. The older host had somewhat filled the hollow little place where his parents had once been emotionally speaking, and so Luce was content, for the most part.
That explained why he was smiling that sweet, sunshine-bright smile as he peered over the back of the booth Cada was in. "Good afternoon, Cada," he greeted his friend with a cheerful little grin. "What're yah mutterin' about over there? I can hear yah!" He had taken it upon himself, as usual, to play 'mother hen' to Cada, though the other was older than him.

Cada jolted at the sound of the familiar voice and beamed a bright smile of his own as he turned to address Luce. Within moments a photo of his parents (with marker enhancements) and his little sister had been produced between Luce's line of sight and his own. "My parents wrote me a letter." He said cheerfully, not sounding much like his previous annoyed self. "I threw it away." He commented casually as if throwing letters away were natural for a son to do. "But they gave me this picture and my little sister is in it. Isn't she cute?" He questioned ignoring the marker enhancements his parents got, a complete treatment of something a son should not do.
When he was satisfied Luce had gotten a good look at his sister he reached for scissors that were on the table next to him and cut her out of the photo trashing what remained. He quickly placed the photo in his back pocket standing to his feet to stretch. "It seems my folks are in town. They want me to meet them at the Hilton at noon." He was quite aware that noon had come and gone. They would wait, if only to get him back he didn't care. "I was thinking of not going but figured if my sister is with them I better take this chance to meet her. It will be the first time she sees me." He said excitedly but a hint of nervous tension could be heard in his voice.
He knew his folks expected him to dress properly, suit and tie, his hair brushed accordingly and so on. However, Cada had opted for simple jeans with the knees cut out, flip-flops for shoes, a polo shirt with a rainbow necktie around his neck, and a pair of sunglasses that were fit for a GQ guy rather than what Cada had in mind. His hair was loosely braided and hung over his shoulder as usual. Gathering his things he looked to Luce again a grin of mischievousness etching along his face. "You should come with me. I'll need a little support if things get out of hand. They never seem to listen to me... but with your sweet smile and pleasant attitude I'm sure my mom couldn't resist." He said leaning down to give the other a chaste kiss on the lip. "Won't you escort me to see my folks?"

"She is cute," Luce admitted with a soft laugh, as he watched Cada cut the altered bits off the photo of the baby girl, and he sighed a little, shaking his head as the cut-away parts were discarded. Poor Cada.
The kiss and request caught him off guard, and Luce fidgeted with the sleeves of his worn sweater, fumbling for a word, before he nodded. What could it hurt, to help poor Cada? If his Southern good manners could ease his friend's difficulties, then he'd be more than willing to lend his presence. "I'll go with yah," Luce said with that warm smile. "Maybe it'll help yer parents see their way to lendin' you their ears, huh?"
After a moment, he paused. "I should prolly change clothes, huh?"

Cada squealed with delight taking Luce by the hand. "No time to change I already made them wait an hour and I don't want to screw up the chance to see my baby sister." He smiled hurrying for the door but snagged one more kiss on the cheek to whisper, "You're a gorgeous creature anything you wear looks ten times better." He chuckled skipping out into the sunny day smiling at all the hustle and bustle in the streets.
"I look like a clown compaired to you and my mom is more inclined to berate me for my poor dress." He giggled as he hailed a cab, more like tossed Mr. Happy into the street causing the cabbie to slam on his breaks. "Works every time." He commented absently rushing to retrieve his beloved toy before sliding in the cab behind Luce. "To the Hilton."
The cabby snorted but took off as soon as the coast was clear. Cada's attention went back to Luce. "Um... did you get that stuff sorted out with your folks?"

The kiss and the whispered compliment brought a gawkish expression and a blush to Luce's cheeks, and he laughed sheepishly, letting himself be pulled by Cada. His friend was skilled at making him blush like a schoolboy, he thought ruefully.
He was jolted into thought by the question, and smiled at Cada, gently. "Yeah... I talked to somebody 'bout it an' they made me feel alright about it. So everythin's golden, y'know?" He said it a little sheepishly, coloring slightly. "Fer now."

Cada smiled leaning back in the seat of the taxi looking out the window ever so often. "I'm glad you got that sorted out. Stuff like that can weigh you down pretty badly." He should know he had a bit of weight of his own to face currently but he didn't let his folks cause him more strife then necessary.
The drive was spent quietly enough, both commenting on various things they saw out the window but for the most part they drove in silence. Cada deep in thought. When the taxi pulled up to the Hilton, Cada paid the man with a bit of a tip and got out. He waited for Luce before turning to the hotel itself. "Well here we are... Let the games begin." He breathed heading inside. They got a few stares for their dress but Cada didn't care either way. He didn't judge people by their outward appearance and neither should others.
Once inside he went to the receptionist. "I'm here to see a Mr. and Mrs. Kakui." The woman looked down her nose at Cada sizing him up then turned to Luce in a similar fashion. "What is your business with them?" She asked with a snobbish tone. Cada only snorted whipping out his ID. "I'm their son if it's any business to you. Call them down here or what room are they in?" He shot back his usual cheerful manner completely gone. The woman looked at her ID then back to Cada with a decidely pleasant smile on her lips, "Right away, sir." She breathed. Funny how many changed a person. His family had used the Hilton hotel chains for a long time, a good majority of them knew his folks so asking around for them looking as he did would seem rather suspicious even if he were their son.
He turned to Luce heading for the lounge. "Let's go wait for them over there. I don't feel much like standing."

"A-all right," Luce had simply watched dumbfounded, looking around the lobby with dazzled eyes as he followed behind Cada, long-legged and slow. "I've never been in a place like this before, yanno, this is... this is pretty damn impressive, Cada..." He whistled softly as he squinted into a crystal chandelier.
"Your parents... must have some serious kinda money to stay here, huh?" He said it quietly, feeling out of place in his wrinkled sweater and jeans.

Cada was content to simply look at Luce while he looked around. Meeting his parents wasn't all that big a deal to him but he figured they were well off and to a person like Luce seemed like royalty. He sighed. "Nah... they just know how to move their money around. Apparently they move it in the right franchises and small businesses over time they collected on a lot of profit." He shrugged not caring much about his family or their money.
Slidding next to Luce he wrapped an arm around his shoulder hooking his forefinger and thumb under the other's chin. "Enough about them... I much prefer keeping myself occupied with you." He purred softly leaning forward to draw his tongue along the other's soft pink lips. "Besides I didn't bring any candy with me for once and you're as close to it as I'll get." He smiled nipping at his bottom lip. "You still taste like bubblegum." Cada commented with cheeky grin. "Can I..." He breathed softly barely brushing his lips against the stray's. "...Kiss you?"

He had been absently looking around, impressed and about to speak, when he felt Cada's warm arm slide around him, and the gentle fingers turn his face. Luce blushed deeply, toes curling a little in his battered shoes. "You... I..."
Cada had a way of striking every thought from Luce's mind with that warm closeness and the way those vivid eyes shone at him, and the sweet warm scent enveloping his senses. "If... I... I guess yah c-can..." he murmured it shyly, his lips brushing Cada's with his words.

Cada smiled softly against Luce's lips already moving in to kiss him almost before he could finish speaking. He couldn't explain the attraction and didn't really want to. Half of the excitement was not knowing his attraction at all, just being close to the other and spending time with him... even kisses. He was so lost in the soft feel of Luce's lips against his that he didn't hear the clearing of one's throat behind him. It took a few more tries before his ears perked up but even when he realized it he continued to assult poor Luce with his lips.
"Cada Kakui! What the hell are you doing?!" The rumbling voice of his father shot through the lounge causing Cada's ears to damn near bleed. He lazily removed himself from Luce's lips licking his own as he turned to face his family. A soft batting of his eyes as he stood to his feet shielding Luce from any hateful glares.
"It's called a kiss, pops and they are quite tastey. Nice to see you too." He commented uncharacteristic of himself. It was almost as if he'd changed personalities completely. His attitude was for the most part snide and uninterested, completely disrespectful. Even as he had spoken this his eyes went from each parent until he noticed the small cherrub wobbling on shakey legs at his mother's feet. "Oh my god..." He breathed the usual cheerfulness returning. "Is that? Almond!" He squealed with delight damn near bull dozing his folks as he scooped the little girl in his arms. "Hey there baby... I'm your big brother Cada." he beamed.
The child slapped him a few times against the face more entertained by Cada's cheerfulness. She did not recognize him but something was familiar as she inspected his face with wet sticky hands. A cookie clutched firmly in her other hand. "Cookie." She spluttered slapping Cada with the cookie for him to eat. Sure enough that was his sister already introducing herself with the usual Kakui way. An in your face greeting.
Cada chuckled taking a nibble of the cookie half ignoring the glares from his folks. He turned on them kneeling before Luce to show off his pretty little girl. "Isn't she just cute. This is my friend Luce! Luce this is my baby sister Almond."

Mortified, Luce had hidden behind Cada until he found his friend bounding away -- a brilliant flush took hold of his cheeks and he watched, unable to meet Cada's parents' eyes. "Uh, I... we... h'llo..."
His attention turned to Cada and the child after a moment, and he managed a smile before lowering himself a little to look the child and Cada both in the eye. "Nice tah meet'cha, little miss Almond," he said it in a gentle, warm voice, reaching out to thumb her little nose lightly and smiling his warmest, tenderest smile. "Aren't yah adorable...?"

Cada had all but forgotten his parents were present as he played with his little sister a soft blush of happiness spreading across his cheek. "She gorgeous." He breathed watching the child putter about as she stumbled toward Luce arm's wide.
"Uppu...uppu..." The child seemed to demand as she waited to be lifted by the blonde. Cada smiled as he watched. "She wants you to hold her." He smiled unable to help himself he leaned forward with a quick kiss to the other's forehead before standing to his feet to address the folks.
"Now then, you wanted me here, I'm here. What do you want? Make it quick I have work to do." Cada shifted again his personality going from happy to clipped and breezy. Hazel eyes glared at two sets of hazel as he waited.
"Don't talk to us like that, boy. You show some respect." His father spoke up as he came further into the lounge eyeing the boy with his daughter. Cada saw this and stepped in front of his sister and Luce making it perfectly clear his father better back down. As such the man did taking a seat on one of the lounge chairs. His mother followed suit showing concern for her daughter. His father spoke up, "I called you here to find out what this... this job is that you're doing. I had some of my men do a background check. I don't approve this is bad form. You have an image to uphold, Cada the way you flounce around with these people. I simply don't approve."
Cada laughed looking over his shoulder at Luce and his sister with a soft smile. His frown returned when turning to his folks just before taking a seat. "Pops, what I do with my life is my business. You lost ownership over me when I turned 18. I'd go back a little further but we all know how much of a dictator you are, you'd not admit to it even now." He glared. "If you called me down here to approve or disapprove of my work ethics... save it. I'm doing my own thing I got my own money, my own friends." He breathed watching the others. "I don't need you but it's ashame your using Almond as a tool against me. I wonder what child services would think if I were to make a complaint?"
His father glared at him stepping forward. "You wouldn't dare..." Cada arched a brow standing to his feet. "Pops, I'd do anything to make sure my sister has the best care. Even steal her from you. I don't appreciate the way you are treating this situation. Do you want to retire so badly? Then do it but don't come looking to me to take over the family business. I already told you where you can stick it. It's been a few years but I'm sure you're not that senial." He sighed turning to Luce and Almond with a smile. "Sorry you have to see this, Luce." He whispered to the other brushing his blond hair from his face. "I'm ready to go whenever you are."

Gently, Luce lifted the small child into his arms, beaming a tender smile at her face as he braced her against him with one arm and gently smoothing her soft hair with his long, gentle fingers. "I c'n see why Cada's in love with yah, little Almond," he murmured, ignoring the altercation and keeping the child's attention.
However, when Cada turns to him, he merely smiles at his friend, looking at him with gentle grey-blue eyes. "'S all right, Cada, I was jus' tendin' to the kiddo..." He placed a gentle kiss on the child's soft cheek, and then sat her down to return her to her parents. "When yer ready, I am," he said with a sheepish smile.

Cada smiled glad for Luce's support despite the situation. He quickly took Almound in his arm giving her a warm hug and a kiss on her cheeks. "Don't forget my face, baby. I'm comin' to get you soon okay?" He whispered to her. She smiled back with a slap to his face which he was getting used to from her. Handing her off to his mother he smiled but frowned when she gave a pout of her lips. Eventually she began to whimper reaching arms to Cada again.
"Aww.. baby I have to go. I promise I'll come see you again, okay?" He breathed patting her on the head and returning a final kiss before turning his back on his folks. He walked passed Luce managed to take his hand as he did. The soft whimpers from his sister were like knives in his heart but he had other things to do before he could see her again.
Once they were outside and the whimpers fled his ears he put on a bright smile. Clapping his hands. "I'm famished." He commented but there was an odd air around him, something fake about his cheerfulness.
