He was truthfully excited when he woke up that morning, because a new ice cream parlor was opening up in town. Remiel's secret love was for ice cream, and right now no woman or man would replace that love. So he had woken up that early morning, rolling out of bed, and giving it enough consideration to quickly pull the covers up in order before he went to his closet to get changed. He pulled on jeans that fit his hips snugly, and a black slightly-tight t-shirt with sporadic designs on it. He slipped on some startling white tennis, and made sure his hair was in place and that there was nothing in his teeth from the granola bar he had snacked on after waking. He was definitely ready for an outing on the town and to a particular freshly-opened ice cream parlor. It was supposed to be old fashioned, with soft-serve ice cream, banana splits, simple cones... and ice cream galore. Remi sighed softly to himself in delight at the simple thought of all the ice cream he enjoy today.

...Except, there was a certain dilemma. Remi didn't want to go on his own. In fact, he was dreading going on his own, since he didn't know the town well, and would likely lose his way within five minutes of stepping out of SHC. No, he needed someone to take with him. He would take Hae-min, but around this time she was working in her garden, and he wouldn't dare disturb her from that. So, it left him with the friends he had made SHC. The only problem was that he didn't know most of them very well, and he would be forced to consider a hearty amount of them as acquaintances. In his mind, there was only one person who was right to bring with him on this excursion to the ice cream parlor.

Within minutes he found himself in front of that person's door. he raised his fist, knocking politely on the rich wooden door. "Brad? Hello?" His voice wasn't demanding, because he was sure that if Brad didn't want to come, he wouldn't drag him... no matter how much he desired his company on this outing.

The older man had one foot in the air, intending to use his in-dorm treadmill when there was a knock at his door. At first, Brad would have been perfectly content to ignore it, but the voice that followed the knock washed away any consideration of ignoring the entity outside. "Just a sec," he called back out, stripping off his sweat pants and snagging a pair of old, holes-in-the-knees type jeans and slipping into them before answering the door. He was still neglecting a shirt, but that was so common place for the man that he didn't think twice about it.

"Hey Remi," he greeted the teen with genuine warmth, smiling at him with ease. "What're you doing up so early? I thought you liked to sleep in?" The first indication that Brad liked a person was his tendancy to tease, and that he was doing so within seconds of greeting the young blonde was definitely a good sign.

He was relieved that Brad was in, and had no problem with waiting a few moments for Brad to make it to the door. He tucked his hand into his back pockets, rocking easily on his heels until Brad made it to the door. Remi seemed to be entirely uneffected by the fact that the man was shirtless, and in fact his gaze did not wander there even once, not out of curiosity or lecherousness. No, his gaze immediately rose to Brad's face, to take in those violet eyes and the smile that showed Brad's teeth. He loved to see other people smiling, and Brad's smile only brought a matching one to Remi's face. He raised a hand, pushing his pesky yellow bangs behind his hear for the five minutes it would stay there. He really was going to have to get it cut soon, and perhaps he would drag Brad to that occassion as well. For now, though, he was content with presenting the idea of going out to ice cream to Brad.

His cheeks did flush red when Brad mentioned that Remi usually slept in, and he found himself rocking on his heels once again briefly. "Well, I do... but in fifteen minutes there's this ice cream parlor a few blocks away that's opening for the first time, and it's supposed to be really good." He turned his gaze back up to Brad, his eyes widen and innocent, a sweet smile on his face. He was pulling out all the stops to convince Brad to come with him. "I was wondering if you'd like to go with me? I don't want to go on my own."

Brad lofted a brow in amusement. "Ice cream for breakfast, huh?" A quiet chuckle escaped him, rolling his shoulders in a compliant shrug. "Why not? Never too old for that," he remarked, opening his door in full before disappearing back into his room. Remi could come in or not, as all the man did was slip into a short sleeved top, sliding his feet into some comfortable flip flops while he buttoned his shirt just shy of his collar bone.

Rolling his collar into a proper position, he ran his fingers through his already short and immaculate hair, returning to the door with another smile for Remi. "You know you can drag me just about anywhere. I like to get out every now and again myself." Exiting the room, he shut the door behind himself, motioning for Remi to lead the way.

A bright smile graced his face when Brad agreed to come with him to the ice cream parlor. "I had a granola bar for breakfast... this is more like a... mid-morning snack. It's not technically breakfast for me, at least." When Brad went back into his room, Remi followed, but only to the extent of just inside of the doorway. He didn't want to invade Brad's personal space without having express permission, but he also didn't want to stand outside of the door awkwardly waiting for Brad to get ready. So, he stood just inside, leaning gingerly against the wall, keeping his gaze trained on the floor and on Brad. No, he wasn't even going to look at all of the crap in Brad's room, because he thought it would be rather rude to do so. He hadn't been told that he couldn't look, but he also hadn't been invited to look. So, he would only look where it was acceptable, and that was on his friend and on the floor. There was nothing personal about a floor anyways.

He slipped out of the room when it was clear that Brad was finished getting ready. "Oh, I wouldn't dare just drag you anywhere I wanted to go, that's mean. But I really want to go to this ice cream place, and I hate going to such things alone. Thanks for coming with me, though. I really didn't know who else to ask. I still don't know a lot of people all that well." He ran his hand through his hair, laughing softly to himself as headed down the stairs and out of the club to begin to make his way to the beloved ice cream parlor.

"It was an offer on my part, so it wouldn't be rude to accept it," he teased the young man, following him down the stairs and onto the sidewalk outside. Brad squinted a little at the sun, cursing inwardly that he'd forgotten his sunglasses but deciding not to dwell on it. It's not like the sun asked him to stare at it anyway. "So what's so special about this parlor, hmm?" he inquired good naturedly, snaking an arm around Remi's back to squeeze him in a partial hug. "Just that it's new? Good ice cream? Popular chain?"

Despite his innocent questions, his mind wandered as it often did when there was somewhere 'new' opening up. He always looked at it to see if it was a new building or taking up residence in an old one; if it was the former, he'd check the design, wondering if it was one of the firms he had worked for, if maybe he would have designed it differently...

Giving a curt shake of his head, he smiled at the blonde, making sure to keep his attention on his company. The teen had asked him out, and by gum, the least he could do was be the company he was asked to be. "The ice cream I'm used to is gelato. Have you had that before?"

"Oh," he replied in slight surprise, because to him it seemed strange to offer oneself to be dragged around anywhere by a person you didn't know. But, since he liked Brad, he wasn't going to start questioning the other man's actions, and instead appreciate the fact that he now had someone who would go anywhere with him if he didn't want to go alone and had no one else to come with him. "Well, it's supposed to have reaalllyy good ice cream, and its an independent business, so it's not part of a chain, which is why I think it will be really good. They've also got candy and other sweets for when it isn't warm out, but that's not going to stop me from getting some sweets along with my ice cream." He was excited, he had to admit, because it was the perfect day to go out for ice cream, and he had someone he liked to take along with him. For him, nothing could make him happier than that.

Remi didn't seem to notice that Brad's mind was beginning to wander, because there were no flashing neon lights proclaiming that Brad wasn't paying the least bit of attention to him. Remi just smiled pleasantly, strolling down the sidewalk, because like hell he was going to take car when it was so nice out, with a little skip in his step. At Brad's question, Remi rolled his eyes up to meet Brad's. "No, I don't think I've had that before. Is it any good?" Gelato sounded like jello, and Remi had to admit that he wasn't fond of jello. But, he was curious enough to hear about it, and if the ice cream parlor had that kind of ice cream, he might try it instead of what he had previously planned to.

"It's only a few blocks away - it's not a long walk, I promise." He hadn't really asked if Brad would mind walking... but it was too late now. Remi wanted to walk, and nothing would stop him from doing just that.
PostPosted: Sun May 25, 2008 7:10 pm

Of course, Brad didn't think it was strange at all; then again, Remi had become an entity that the older man wanted to watch over, and so an offer as company was quite logical. It could be difficult to follow his train of thought sometimes, but he had a reason for everything he did.

"Yes, gelati is a thicker, richer variety of ice cream," he explained casually, "made with milk and sugar. Something about the composition makes it...more flavorful. It's quite delicious." He smiled over to Remi, feeling relaxed as he had with Hae-min. This young man didn't want anything from him other than his company - that honesty, or perhaps the naivity and lack of ill intent, made him quite endeared to the blonde.

Brad nodded, chuckling. "Don't worry about distance. I jog a few miles when I can. Walking is a nice alternative." He paused, "I could probably carry you and walk there just as comfortably, so don't worry about me."

Sugar. Remi was sorely fond of sugar, and since gelati seemed to have more sugar than normal ice cream, he was sure to like that much better than normal ice cream. It sounded quite delicious, but unfortunately he didn't know if the ice cream parlor they were going to had it. He'd try it at some point, if not today, then tomorrow or the next day. Brad seemed fond of it, and if Brad seemed fond of it, then it couldn't be bad at all. He was sure the other man had good taste, and would not let him put something utterly disgusting into his mouth. "That sounds good, I'll have to try it sometime. I usually like anything sweet," he smiled then, "but you could probably figure that out without me having to tell you."

Brad's next comment seemed to suddenly put a lot of ideas in his head. But, his thoughts would probably be asking too much from Brad, and he didn't want to demand anything from the other man. Brad had been kind to him (after that little mishap, of course), and was being nice enough at this moment to come to the ice cream parlor with him. It would be too much to ask for anything else from him. But, he was still tempted, and thus temptation led him to speak up on his thoughts, though he didn't go so far as to ask for what he wanted. "You'd really be able to carry me?" He arched a curious eyebrow at Brad. "I could swear that I'd break your arms if you had to carry me even one block."

If Brad could have heard Remi's inner thoughts, the man would have laughed until he cried. As it were, he walked along leisurely, smiling over to Remi at his decided love of sugar. "I think you'd give me cavities on a sugar rush," he chuckled, more to himself than the blonde. Really. The young man had such a sweet disposition, such a gentle manner, it was easy to imagine him being excited and giddy in the most tooth rotting manner possible.

Sugar Rush Remi was suddenly pushed to the side of his mind as the youth uttered his words. "Ooh," he nearly purred, "a challenge?" Had it been anyone else, he would have brushed them off and let it go, but with Remi, it was a different ballgame all together. Brad paused his long strides, eyeing the young man thoughtfully, looking between where they were and up the street to guage how crowded it was. "I could run miles with you in my arms kiddo, but that would probably jostle you a bit." He rubbed his chin, before adding nonchalantly, "I'll meet your challenge, then. I'll carry you or you can climb on my back, you just better be good at giving directions while being carted around."

Brad grinned very slightly. He hadn't done this in a very long time, although his sister had jumped on his back uninvited enough that he knew it wouldn't be stressful to carry the young man. Did he think it was strange to offer a young man that he'd just met some method of transportation that included his body? No, but he was privately hoping Remi would accept; the man was very much a child at heart with his present company, and these antics were no exception.

He smiled sweetly, a little hop in his step, unable to help his happiness leak into his body's actions. "At least they would be happily deserved cavities," he replied cheerfully, and really, Remi's sweetness could inadvertantly be the cause of half the city's population's cavities... metaphorically speaking. It was hard for Remi to be anything but naturally sweet and good-natured. It was a rare moment when the boy fell out of his normally happy state, but it had been known to happen before. There seemed to be few things in life that would get him down, and even fewer things that would make him genuinely angry. He didn't like feeling either emotions, so that was why he tried a little much to be happy. He hated feeling down and upset, and he equally hated when other people were going through those emotions. He knew it didn't feel good, and that was why he tried to make everyone happier. Of course, he couldn't succeed all of the time, or even most of the time, but he still tried... and that had to count for something.

A challenge? He really hadn't meant it to be, but now that Brad had gottent he idea... he couldn't dissuade him. It would most certainly be fun, and he couldn't help but let out a sweet giggle at the idea of being carried piggy-back all the way to the ice cream parlor. "Yes, a challenge," he agreed, a sweetly sly smile on his face. "Yeah, I'd rather you not run if you're going to carry me. I can climb on your back... if you get down a little? You're awfully taller then me." Most people were, but Remi really wasn't that short. He just wasn't tall for a man.

"It's an easy place to get to, so don't worry abou tme giving you bad directions." Of course... if he did give Brad the wrong directions, then he could be on Brad's back for a while longer, and maybe he'd even win the challenge. That was an interesting idea, but it was altogether too devious for Remi, and so he discarded it.

Brad chuckled, moving to the side of the walkway and kneeling down, looking over to Remi with a playful smile. "All aboard then, hold on tight but do try to allow me to breathe." He rolled his shoulders, feeling comfortably at ease and prepared to take on his new task. As he watched the young man, he couldn't help but hope that Remi never changed; he hoped that the other would always enjoy ice cream, and that he wouldn't shirk from the idea of a piggy back ride. He sincerely hoped that the ugliness of the world left the blonde unscathed, as much as it could.

"That's fine. Even if we can't find it, I'm sure there's enough folk who'd be familiar with it. Nothing is ever small or understated in this part of the city," the older man commented jovially. He wouldn't have even been surprised if the Mayor himself came down for the opening of an ice cream store.

Whether that was his logical self thinking or Remi's influence, he might never know. He was simply content knowing that the day was going to be a good one.

He really didn't mind having a piggyback ride, and in fact was looking quite forward to it. So, when Brad knelt down onto the ground, he came up behind him, wrapping his arms loosely around Brad's neck (he really didn't want to inadvertantly choke the other man to death(, and then waited for Brad to lift him up and begin the trek to the ice cream parlor. "I wouldn't dream of not allowing you to breathe - I wouldn't be getting my free piggyback ride, then." He giggled sweetly into Brad's ear, the song soft and oddly melodic. It was clear that he was enjoying himself, and that this piggyback ride was going to be the highlight of his day. Even the ice cream would not compare to the enjoyment he got from managing to get a piggyback ride from Brad. He could hardly even picture Brad giving away free piggyback rides, so he considered himself fortunate to be able to have one. Yes, he was very glad to have become a friend of Brad's. It was the best thing that came out of working at Searan's Host Club.

Aww. There went his idea of getting them lost on purpose, because surely any person would be willing to help such a pair as Brad and Remi - the tall, dark, and handsome man and the sweet, golden boy. "That's right. Everyone in town is usually very helpful. I got a lot of help when I first came here, and didn't know a thing about this place, or where to go for some decent food. There's no chance of us getting lost." He nodded his chin, resting his head lightly on Brad's shoulder, his blonde hair naturally falling in front of his eyes and obscuring his vision. But, he was too lazy to brush it to the side and out of his eyes.
PostPosted: Mon May 26, 2008 1:39 pm

His body rumbled with silent chuckling, wrapping his arms behind Remi's knees and standing with ease. Adopting a jaunty step, Brad walked a bit faster than he had before, breaking into a playful jog at times when there were few enough people to warrant it. It was true; the Italian did not hand out such things freely, but there were many things the older man would do for Remi that he would not for most of his other co-workers. It came with the territory.

"That's good," he commented after one short burst of jogging, trying not to chuckle as he talked, "that others have helped you. Not everyone is so friendly, so I count us lucky to at least have each other." Brad would be hard pressed to be lost in the city at all, but for the sake of his company, he'd at least have a good time pretending otherwise. He would make sure the other was enjoying himself while in his care, in something as lighthearted as a piggyback ride or as simple as eating ice cream.

It was nice that someone in the Club enjoyed his company, as he often found himself hard to be around at times. It wasn't easy for Brad to make friends - he suffered from foot-in-mouth syndrome frequently, which is why he didn't talk much when possible - so to have Remi on his side was pleasing. Tilting his head to the side, he nudged the young man, murmuring, "Thanks for having me along, Remi."

He giggled when Brad wrapped his arms behind his knees and stood up. The dark haired man was certainly taller than Remi, and the blonde was enjoying these few minutes when he was a few inches taller than he normally was. Remi became distracted from their easy conversation for a few minutes, just enjoying the ride and giggling like hell when Brad jogged. He didn't think it odd to be hitching a piggy back ride from Brad, though from the look on some people's faces he figured it wasn't a common sight to see. He even really didn't care what other people thought of them, because he was enjoying himself, and he was in too good of a mood to let anyone bring him down. He was going for ice cream, with Brad, and he was going to enjoy his ice cream, with Brad. He was also going to enjoy this piggy back ride as he had never had one before.

"Well, if you're friendly to people, they're usually friendly to you in return, unless they're really nasty people from the get-go. I tend to avoid them, so I usually run into people who are nice and don't mind giving me a hand." He smiled sweetly at that moment and hummed a happy tune to himself. "I agree, I think we're very lucky to have each other. I'm very happy to have met you." He wasn't lying, either. Sure, it was easy for him to find nice people, but Brad was more than a nice person. He was a good friend, and Remi really was glad to have him for one.

"You're welcome. Thanks for coming along with me - it'd be awfully lonely going alone, and I don't like feeling lonely. I'm very glad that you decided to come with me. It just makes everything more fun."
