(( For erisam and RaiMidori. If you aren't one of them, please do not post without consulting all three of us beforehand. ))

The small muscles of the two heila tensed up as they stirred the strange liquid in the large pot. Aiko giggled. "Oh.. You think she's like it.. Mocha? Krushe?" she asked. She hopped down and towards the stove, turning the knob to around 350 degrees. (I think that's an okay temperature?) "Okay, the oven is getting preheated now!"

Mocha nodded. "...Yeah, I guess. And okay." He glanced at Krushe uneasily. The master chef was curled up on a chair playing DJ's DS. He sighed. "I bet Krushe would approve... If she was paying attention. But she's not and I doubt she wants to."

The red-headed heila glanced upwards at Mocha then back to the DS. She was the one that came up with the idea... Why shouldn't she? Plus she WAS paying attention. Just why bother the obvious? She looked at the clock. DJ would be entering in about twenty-three minutes, she guessed. DJ wasn't the type of person that liked being late. She grunted. "Twenty-three minutes!" she exclaimed.

Aiko and Mocha exchanged looks. They sighed and glanced outside the kitchen and at the door. They would be prepared to hear the bell ding any minute.

Rai wasn't one to believe in superstition, but they had passed three black cats already. She had gotten so busy with her life, she seldom had the time to just walk out with Iris and enjoy herself, and Reine always seemed to be out of the house doing something or another. Oh, it wasn't like she didn't trust the insane heila to take care of herself, she was a thousand times more mature than she acted, but it was still troubling to have so much of her life going on in all sorts of places. She felt... worn thin, to say the least.

At her side, Iris was quiet for once, studying the dark rocks that settled at the enbankment along the far left, the little brook running playfully, gurgling about something that they both wished they understood. His voice came for the first time in minutes, hopeful and tugging at her restless heart,

"Rai~" he sang cheerily, "can we go visit DJ and Mocha? I haven't seen the in the longest time."

Rai blinked surprisingly at the dusty sunlight from the canopy above and turned her crimson gaze toward her heila, holding his hand tight,

"What gave you that thought, Iris?"

"I mean, because we're so close to them and all- this is where they live, right?"

Kicking along the dust clods that grew in the humid air, Iris tried his best not to pressure his guardian, though in all honesty he really, really, really wanted to see Mocha. It had been such a while, oh, would he even remember him?

Iris bit his lip until Rai's voice drove him out of his frightening thoughts like a tinkling of a bell that he was so glad to hear,

"Sure, Iris, we can go," she laughed, winking at her companion. Hopefully the cats didn't mean bad luck for their visit, after all, she wanted to see them, too.

Krushe sighed. The cake was about to be taken out of the oven and DJ would be home any minute now. She turned off the DS and stared at the clock. 4 minutes and 23 seconds.. 21 seconds... 19 seconds... She grunted. Instead of tie slowing down like it usually did when you stared at the clock, it was going faster.

The two heila took out the cake cake slowly and placed it down on the stove. Mocha sigh. "Can we put icing right away or do we have to wait for it to cool down, Aiko?"

Aiko shrugged. "I dunno! I thought YOU would know! You're the one that's been baking longer!" His crossed her arms, looking at the icing they found in the fridge. About half of it had been use before. Aiko was sure they still had plenty enough. "I guess we can hide the cake and do it while DJ isn't looking.. Any ideas, Krushe?"

The red head glanced at her. "DJ will be here in 3 minutes and 33 seconds. Maybe even earlier. Bring it to her mom's office so it'll col down, she won't see it and won't smell it, hopefully."

The two heila nodded and obdiently obeyed Krushe.

Mocha grinned when they plopped it on the desk. "Krushe may be quiet but she's smart." The pink heila nodded and listened to the door bell ring. "She's home!" Mocha shoved Aiko and himself out of the office and quickly ran to the door. He opened it and stared at DJ, huffing loudly.

"Were you chasing Aiko agai, Mocha?" she grinned. "And what's with the apron?"

"Uhh no and no reason. I was thinking about baking something but realized I didn't have enough time. Oh well. So how was the park?" he quickly responded, trying to even his breath. His cheeks grew a rosey shade, embarrassed he still had the apron on. He glanced sideways at Aiko, who managed to take hers off. He felt a glare come from her direction. The heila sighed.

"You don't need to avoid the subject? And it was fine! I had a picnic with a friend you know already. We goofed around and rolled down the hills... Ran around on the track... Had too much to eat. You know?"

"Yeah, yeah," he muttered.

((I'm guessing DJ'll be at her house? XD They can go to the cafe later on. 83))
