The ichsa stallion walked along the beach as he pondered what had happened as of late. He had found his betrothed only to be rejected once more. His love for her was great, but it did not match the love that he had for himself. To get his mind off of his Sonata love Perun began to prance now across the sand. He held his tail up off the sand so it wouldn't get all dirty. His beauty always came first.
"I am such a beautiful stallion. How could she not want to be with me!? Others would be envious of our children and yet she still denies me!" His frustration was growing as he continued to think about the problem. Perun needed his love and needed children but he knew not of how to get them. Thoughts strayed in his mind about the challenge his brother had started and his urgency to get children from his love grew even more. "Why must she deny me!?"

"Well I wonder why she wouldn't want you."
"You're more arrogant than all the egocentric nequus I've seen put together!"
"Try toning down your ego a bit there, fancy-hooves."
The two siblings watched the purple-maned stallion as he walked down the beach, both sets of eyes bright and curious. Neither knew quite who the ichsa was talking about; another ichsa mare, perhaps. Yes, that was the most probable answer.
The ebony twin stepped forward first, leaving the cave they had both dubbed home, at least for the summer months. "What's your name, siry fancy-hooves?"
"I thought that was his name," the snowy mare said as she followed her brother, unable to keep herself from grinning. The arrogant ones were always so much fun.

Pausing in his step the black and purple stallion turned and looked at the newcomers. Arrogant! Not Me! he thought as he now glared at the seemingly alike Reyas. "I'll have you know that my name is not Siry Fancy-hooves but rather Perun. I am the most handsome and beautiful in the land. I hope you are pleased to make my acquaintance." He smiled his 'look at me I'm better then you' smile as he waited for his proper bow of greeting from the other two.

"Riiiiight," the white mare said with a quirked brow, canting her head to the side before leaning towards her brother and speaking in low tones. "What's his deal, do you think?"
"I haven't a clue," he replied back, watching Perun warily. He didn't enjoy toying with the arrogant gits as much as his twin did, so he always let her do the talking with them. "I think he's just crazy or something."
"No, I don't think he's crazy, really," she countered, flicking an ear and snapping her muscular tails like whips, "he's just an idiot who thinks he's better than everyone else, clearly. I haven't met anyone this bad before."
Neither of them had, really. They'd met idiots that were bad, but never this bad.
Calliope cleared her throat and eyed the lightning-marked stallion warily. "Listen, fancy-hooves. I hate to break it to you, but you're not the most handsome or beautiful nequus ever. I've actually seen a lot better, although you're kinda pretty. But, as I've said, I've seen better. What about you?"
"Me?" He blinked, snapping back to reality. "Well, yeah, I have too, but then again of course I have, I'm not interested in stallions." Honestly, why would she ask such a dumb question?

They didn't...they couldn't have...could they? They just told him that he wasn't the most handsome stallion. Shaking his head he ignored what they said knowing full well that he was the most beautiful stallion in the world. "Why don't you two just run along now. There's nothing you can do to help a poor old beautiful stallion such as myself." he said, his voice full of sadness as he turned away from the twins. Thoughts of his bother kept entering his mind but he tried hard to not think of it.

Oooh dear. He'd gone and done it, hadn't he? The black-coated stallion winced a bit, before Calliope shot her muzzle forward and scowled at him. "Children, are we then? Feh, all you flamboyant bints are alike, with your pretty heads so far up your pretty arse, you can't see anything else." She snorted, ears pinned to her skull.
And she was normally the calmer of the two. Heh, so much for that. "Now why in the world would such an undeniably beautiful stallion such as yourself," he stated, the last few words dripping with sarcasm, "be so sad, and whatever for? Is the most gorgeous mare in all Urin denying you or something?"
"Feh," the pale-coated mare spat, trotting past the lightning-marked ichsa and resisting the urge to kick his face in. "Pretty boys, they're all alike, the lot of them... Think they can have whoever they want..."
Damon sighed. Wonderful. Now, Perun wasn't the problem, his twin was. Just wonderful.

"Children you are and children you always shall be." Perun muttered as he now glared at the twins. "Perhaps you should go off and learn about the importance of beauty before talking in such a rude manner to your elder." Turning his attention to the black twin he snorted in irritation. "Now why should it be any of your concern if a mare is denying me. You are just children. Now go along and grow up." The lightning stallion normally calm but when his prettiness is insulted he couldn't help but be irritated.

"Oh yes, beauty is so important, isn't it, brother?" She said, scowling at Perun.
"Of course, beauty is the only important thing in life, isn't it?" He countered, leaning over and prodding her shoulder with his muzzle.
"Of course it is, oh, except, beauty doesn't matter if you're dead," she spat, ignoring the firm prod from her twin. "Now look who is acting like a child? Beauty doesn't mean a damn thing, in case you haven't noticed. What good is being beautiful if you're too damn stuck-up to appreciate anything else?"
"It isn't, sister. I can understand why she denied him, then," he snorted, amused. "His head seems to be permanently stuck up his own arse."
"Yes, I wonder if he put it there himself or if he had any help with that?"
"I'm not sure, can you really shove it that far up all by yourself?"
"You're right," she said thoughtfully and turned her eyes skyward, pondering. "Someone must have given him a few ego boosts to help him on."
"Ah, that seems more logical. I bet it wasn't the pretty mare who denied him. I bet she's a beauty, but certainly not as gorgeous as he is."
"Oh, of course she's not," she chuckled, entertained again. She could always count on Damion to bring her down from her enraged fits. It didn't happen too often, but she hated when they surfaced.

By this point Perun had tuned them out. His beauty was far more important then listening to these children and getting age marks far sooner then he needed. He just nodded acting as if he was paying attention as he thought about his love. Oh the fair and beautiful...not as beautiful as he...Sonata. Her voice was that of the heavens and her looks the second best to his own. Why must she deny him? Why? He stomped a hoof in irritation as he thought about the denial from the pretty mare.

Calliope snorted in irritation, eying the horrendously egotistical stallion. How anyone could be so obnoxiously stupid, she had no idea. Her lips curled into a scowl as she stared at him, and the angry look swiftly transformed to a devious little smirk as a wonderful idea popped into her head. She nudged her twin on his shoulder, signaling for him to stay behind, and paced closer to Perun as quietly as possible.
His lips formed an 'oh!' as his brows raised in silent understanding, and he grinned at his mischievous sister. "Oh dear, of course she isn't," he replied to his twin's previous statement, covering for her so Perun would concentrate on his voice and not her hoofsteps. "Well, whoever she is, I'm glad she denied him, he needs to get his head out of his arse before he can appreciate anything else."
And with that, the pale mare was close enough to snap at the lightning-marked stallion's flank, hoping to leave a mark there. Wonder what he'd think of that. As soon as she attempted the bite, she reared and bolted backwards with a whinny of delight. "Never turn your back on an angry mare!" She warned, and it was a good warning. Angry mares boded ill for everyone. And with that, she raced off as fast as she could down the beaches, her dark twin in hot pursuit, both laughing and whinnying their amusement.

Just as Perun was about to reply to the irritating children he felt a bite on his rear. He jumped up into the air from the surprise and landed hard on all four hooves. "You little brats! You shall pay for this!" He yelled as he watched them run down the beach. The stallion had no interest in chasing them down the beach. It would cause his coat and tail to get all covered in sand. No thank you. Looking back at his hind end the stallion gave a sigh as he saw where the stupid mare had bitten him. It was going to leave a mark but it would only be noticeable up close.
"I'm ruined! Ruined!" he cried out as he saw the mark. "How can I go on?!"
