I thought I would open up a thread so we can share recipes we use often or find yummy! We could also see what people recommend to do for a certain dish. I like to cook and am always interested in preparing new meals or perfecting recipes.
So let's get cooking! razz

I'll start off. This isn't really a recipe, I just throw things in at random but it tastes super yummy. You can really add or take away ingredients depending on what you have in your fridge.
Crock Pot Beef Roast I buy a big hunk of cheap beef, rub it with sea salt, cracked black pepper and rosemary. Put it in the crockpot and add chopped red potatoes, diced celery and carrots and maybe some onions. Then I pour a bunch of red wine in the pot and cook it for 8-10 hours. The beef turns out tender and yummy, the potatoes turn purple but are still tasty and the carrots sometimes retain their shape enough to eat (the celery is usually mush but it helps flavor the meat). You can pour the wine sauce over the meat and potatoes for extra flavor and juiciness. I usually just serve this meal with fresh bread and butter. It's filling and tasty! Crock pots always turn rough cuts of meat into tender deliciousness. 3nodding

One of the little girls at my daycare bought in a piece of Chocolate Eclair Cake for me and the recipe to it. It's sooo good!
Ingredients • Two Small French Vanilla Instant Pudding mixes • Three cups of milk • One eight ounce tub of thawed Cool Whip • One tub of chocolate frosting • Graham crackers
Mix the pudding and milk together, and then the Cool Whip. Layer the bottom of a 9x13 pan with graham crackers. Pour half of the pudding mixture over the graham crackers. Add another layer of graham crackers. Pour the remaining pudding mixture onto the graham crackers, and add another layer of graham crackers. Put the icing into the microwave for 20 seconds and spread on top. Refrigerate until firm and serve.

i am useless in the kitchen but i try sometimes. this is one of my favorites to make
Pour Mans Pudding
1 cup sifted flour 2tsp. sugar 1/2 cup milk 2tsp. baking powder pinch of salt 3 tbsp. soft butter 1 cup raisins
mix dry ingredients to a mealy consistency. Add raisins and milk gradually. stir and pour into greased casserole.
combine: 1 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp. butter 2 cups boiling water
stir well and pour over first mixture. bake at 350F. for 40-45 minutes. serve with whipped cream.
the best part about this is you can add apples to it or peaches or pears at the same step as when you add the raisins and its so good. if you add apples add some cinnimon too. mmmm i want to make this now!!!

I wasn't really looking for anything in specific, I was going to join the group (although I didn't because I haven't gotten paid yet *sigh*) and if they gave any recipes for members only I would have shared it. biggrin
I do have one though.
Get a Hoagie bun. Sprinkle some butter/margarine or something low fat if your not into butter. Sprinkle garlic powder over the butter, judging by how much garlic you like. Add some mozzarella cheese on top. Put in the oven at 400 and bake until the cheese has melted and it's starting to brown just a little.
Take it out, serve with sauce if you'd like, or just eat it without the sauce.
Cheesy bread. <333

what about a nice greek salad.
it has a layer of humis, then romain lettus in a lemon garlic dressing (store bought) then a layer of red onions, tomatos, cucumber, black olives, and feta, topped with taziki (sp?). you can eat it with pita bread to get all the humis off the bottom. it is sooooooooo good.

I have wars with food and calories. But it's still soooo good.
I baked brownies yesterday. And it's on my thighs already.

At least once a week, my co-worker, Heather, comes in talking about how she tried a new recipe over the weekend. When she doesn't have one to try, she'll get out a cookbook and open it to a random page and cook whatever sounds appealing on the page. I should try that!
