I know that they do these side-story . . . things . . . to let the manga progress a bit so they don't run out of the main storyline, but the arc just seems plain awful this time around.
Aside from the half-baked plot and poor character portrayal, the animation is just horrible! gonk I just finished 173 and can only shake my head.
White text: I was kind of excited to see Zaraki show up, but of course nothing cool happened. And when has Ichigo been able to disappear and reappear like that? Is he using shunpo or something all of a sudden?
I don't know, I think the bounto arc was somewhat entertaining, but this is just terrible to me. And call me petty, but I really can't get over the poor quality either . . . poor Ichigo just looks so terribly drawn! crying
Did they give a reason why it has to be "top secret" to guard the little girl, too? I can't seem to remember . . . And is her family supposed to be one of the great noble houses (they sure treat her like it)? There were four right, with Kuchiki being one and Yoruichi's being another, I remember.
The one redeeming quality is that the omake are still pretty funny. The Soul Society Women's Association, is that it? Having their meeting in Byakuya's mansion. =P

I thought about that little girl getting married! D: I mean, whoa! They look like they're all ten-year-olds or something. So creepy. *shudder* I mean, I knew that noble families in any culture would wed off their daughters fairly young, but . . .
I hope this arc is over soon!

I also loved how Byakuya tried to confront Ichigo about not applying the proper honorific to his name. =P And Yachiru just scooped him away!

Uh, I actually like the filler. sweatdrop I think this arc is much more entertaining than the Bounto arc.

XDD It irritated me at first that they went pretty AU for the filler, but I have managed to convince myself to view it as a completely separate storyline, and it's made it a lot more enjoyable to watch. It's a little overcheesed and predictable, but it's cute. XDBetter? XD
