So I have this idea for one of my stories, and as the man leaves with his wife, he gives the woman they had eaten dinner with a kiss. It had no ulterior motives and was just one of those polite friendly kisses that adults do in goodbyes. But I don't know if there's a word for that type of kiss or a way to describe it so that no one will think too into it.

Your help? What do you think?

Adults kiss each other goodbye? O-o

That aside....

I think you should keep the wording simple. Convey a bit of care in the paragraph (or page or sentence), but not too much. If it's too perfect, the readers will feel that the man feels something for the friend. Make it seem casual, but not mechanical. A bit of emotion, but not too much.

=P That's all I can say(type).

Actually that's pretty helpful~ Simple makes sense and wouldn't bring too much attention to the whole thing.

Thank you very much~*~

A chaste kiss. I think that's the word you're looking for.

Good luck with your writing! (Sorry this response is so late.)
