What do you think of friends who pretty much all but say, "Give or buy me items/MC's!" and seem angry at you when you buy something/have what they want?
Rami and I each have a friend, and she is constantly saying, "I can't wait until I can afford some MC's" and basically guilt tripping me because I can afford to buy Gaia Cash and MC's. She even makes dream avi's similar to the avi's I have (she has an avi with Shadow Spirit, and Grace of Aphrodite, and purple clothes) and is constantly like "I can't wait until I have this stuff, maybe when you change your avi..." Uhhh...WHAT??
She was guilt tripping Rami because she has a lot of friends in this special thread where she posts(the Literates Thread as I call it). On birthdays or "just because" days, they will give each other gifts. In fact, yesterday was Ramiele's birthday and the three of us were talking, and she asked Rami if she got any gifts for her birthday. And Rami told her the gifts that she got. This girl went, "Well, I wish I had people giving me MC's every other day." 0___o
Uhh...
Why don't you just say, "Gimme, I want I want??"
What to you think? This girl is honestly a good friend on and off Gaia, we talk on the phone and so on but it really makes me angry when she acts like this. First off, I pay for my things on Gaia, and second off, it's not hard to make friends and earn things yourself if you DON'T want to put money into Gaia. neutral
What's your thought on people like this?
Do you have a friend like this? Did you?
How do/did you deal with it?

I don't like beggars. I guess it's okay to ask nicely but don't pull the whole guilt trip on me, you know?
I'm part of a gift-giving guild where everyone is nice and non-beggy. There are a few members though who only come around when we are having a gift giving event. I notice it and it annoys me. They don't bother with the day to day chat, they only come for the goods. And the thing is...they get gifted! It bothers me a little that people like that will get bombarded with gifts while the more involved people of the guild get nothing...but oh well. Gaia is set up to make people gold crazy.

Exactly!! I mean, I can understand every once in a while, but guilt tripping every time we talk gets a little crazy!!!
Whenever there is a giveaway and I participate, I always make sure that I stay and chat as long as I possibly can, whether I win something or not. You can make a lot of cool friends in giveaway threads!

my outlook on that is if i am going to give you a gift i will give you a gift don't go asking for them. i pretty much ignore people that are like you should give me such and such a thing you have more then one already and then i am like yeah i do cause i save my gold to get them. grr.

I agree. If I send someone a gift, it's because I like them or are friends with them. It's not that I'm NOT friends with this girl, but she is just really pushy and just jealous. In a roundabout way, Gaia is just pixels (although it means more to me than just pixels) and to be jealous because I have what you want is silly.
I earn my gold the hard way, posting, voting, commenting, and writing goofy stuff in my journal. I buy things in the marketplace and sell them for a higher price. It's not my fault some Gaians buy it. I participate in giveaway threads and get lucky, and when I don't get lucky, I still make a lot of friends through chatting and gold while chatting as well. I can't help it that my friends give me gifts. neutral
If you want an item, make a quest thread, then I would consider giving you a gift. But if you beg, then, it's just... meh. neutral

You know something that made me really, really angry? The same girl that I made the thread about, and I were chatting last night. I told her that I bought an Enchanted Book 3rd Gen for 53k with the intent to sell it in a couple days to make a profit. Heck, I could sell it NOW and make a profit, 12 hours after I bought it. Well, she had the nerve to tell me not to sell it and give it to her! Straight out. It really pissed me off, because I bought her the June 2007 letter last year (with Cloud, Mythrill Halo, and Western Zodiac) and she sold it in the marketplace for 9k, when it was going for 30k! That really hurt me. Plus her not outright begging, but the "I wish I had this, blah blah blah." made me and Rami feel sorry and we split our gold together and bought her Elemental Wings.
I just can't believe that she would have the nerve to say something like that, especially when I have don't have much gold right now (I've gone spend-happy; bought Lunar Scythe, Shadow Spirit, and some other things) plus she knows I'm questing for Aquatica. I know that this is just Gaia, but still. -______-

i know where you guys are coming from. i used to do a lot of vending back when the market place was the old format. well i used to get PM and profile comments all the time with people telling me i should just give them my stuff cause i had more then one. it made me so angry i actually posted in my shop discription that i was not ever going to give anyone anything for free and that if they couldn't buy my stuff to not even bother talking to me. i know that sounds harsh and stuff but it stopped them.
