About a half a mile away from the Village proper, there is an open field; with knee high grass and several copses of trees. To the west of the field lies an abandoned rock quarry and to the north is a fairly large pond. Near the pond is a small, rundown shack with a fairly large plot of compact dirt in front of it. The location is close enough to the village to be convenient to reach but reamining far enough away so as not to interfer with the day to day lives of the village residents.
Spread throughout the field were several of his traps; in the tall grass he had laid down a number of his specialized claymore traps, the steel ball bearing having been replaced with paintballs so as not to injure his students. He had also dug several pitfall traps with a foot of mud and had painstakingly created several shallow pools of quicksand, each one about a foot and a half deep.
Kei himself was sitting on a lawn chair by the pond with a glass and a tiller of lemonade, he sat there awaiting the arrival of his three genin. He had risen early and pinned a map and the co-ordinates to the doors of his students, along with a compass, just incase they got lost. Taking a sip of lemonade, Kei relaxed into his chair and waited patiently.

Daisuke was excited. It was his first day of training and he couldn't wait to find out what he would learn from Kei. The area specified was not difficult at all to locate thanks to the map and compas provided by Kei. Daisuke ran through the village gate to the feild and stopped just short of the long grass. "Kei is my sensei? This will be awesome!" Daisuke ran through the feild, unaware of the traps. He set off one of the claymore traps, the paintball spattering on his chest. "Traps? Training us right from the get go, eh?" He began to sprint towards Kei, setting off yet another claymore trap. This time Daisuke had his mind focused more on his surroundings more than making it Kei. He heard the paintball coming for him as he ducked to avoid it.
"This can't be the only type of trap," he said under his breath as he stopped. He took another step forward, eyeing the ground to try and notice more traps. One thing did stick out to him. In some areas, the grass didn't look the same. He was almost certain this was another trap, but just to be safe, he stomped on it. The grass fell in and Daisuke then had another thing to look out for. He began to sprint, triggering six more claymores, successfully dodging two and fell into one pit fall. He was still oblivious to the quicksand until he stepped into a pit of it and his legs got stuck. "Crap...." He looked up to Kei and began to wave his arms around. "Hey! How do I get out of here?"

Kei looked up when he heard someone calling out, twisting in his seat Kei looked at the boy who had fallen into one of the quicksand pits he had created. A glance at the kid told him he had run a foul of several claymore traps a pitfall or two and definitely the quicksand trap.
Smiling to himself, Kei stood up and walked over to the pit that Daisuke had gotten stuck in. He had expected his students to fall for this trap in particular because it was incredibly difficult to discern from the surrounding nature and because once caught, the student usually didn't know how to get out, as in this particular case. When he was standing at the edge of the quicksand, Kei looked at his roster and looked at the boy again. "Okay, Daisuke, there are two ways to get out of this trap; the first is to wiggle your hips and until you get a leg free then monkey crawl across the surface until you've reached a safe place." Kei instructed as he circled the pit.
"Or if you have the training already, you can focus your chakra to the bottom of your feet and use it to propel you upwards so that you can walk across the surface like you would walk on water." Channeling his own chakra he stepped onto the surface of the quicksand and strode easily to Daisuke without falling in. "Careful though, if you open up to big a space the sand will rush in to fill the void, thus sucking you in deeper, until you drown." Kei warned with a serious expression although he knew very well that there was only a foot and a half of quicksand in the pit. "So armed with that knowledge, get out and join me by the pond."

Daisuke listened very carefully as Kei spoke. Either wriggle his way out, which would be the simple way to get out, or he could focus chakra to his feet and walk out. He hadn't had the training to walk on quick sand, but he had the training to walk on solids, such as trees or walls, and also to be able to walk on water. The way Daisuke saw it, this would be a combination of both. He focused chakra into the soles of his feet. The sand wasn't moving, so he wouldn't need to keep using different amounts of chakra, yet. He acted as if he was walking on land and used the same amount he would as if he were walking up a tree. He lifted one foot up, using different amounts of chakra as the sand shifted underneath his feet. He figured he had gotten the right idea of what he should do, but when he began to raise his other foot, he used too much chakra, widening the whole and causing him to sink deeper.
"Darn.... I thought I had it. Oh well, I'll try to learn that another time." Daisuke then began to wriggle his hips, freeing one foot and then crawling to the edge of the pit where he pulled himself out and onto solid ground. "Okay.... Now to the pond." Daisuke carfully navigated around the area, discovering another match of unmatched grass and activating another claymore trap, which he successfully evaded. He walked up to the pond and stood right next to Kei. "Hello Kei sensei. What are we doing now?"

Kei looked at Daisuke once again from his leisurely position in the lawn chair. The boy had made it here first, whether because he was faster than his teammates or because he had simply set off earlier, there was no way to tell; but dispite his early arrival he was covered in paint, mud, and sand. "Well I had planned on seeing how skilled each of my students are, and since you're the first to arrive, you get to be tested first." Kei said as he rose from his seat and stretched.
"I hope you know how to water walk because that's where I will be testing you." Kei said with a grin as he removed his yukata, which left him standing in a pair of trunks that went down to mid-shin and a tanktop that displayed his chisled upper body. "I should mention that by the time you are done with me, you should be as ripped as I am." Kei said with a wink as he stepped onto the lake after taking off his shoes. Striding to the middle of the lake, he crossed his arms over his chest and waited for Daisuke to join him.
"The idea of this is to spar ontop of the water, it'll force you to split your concentration into fighting as well as manipulating your chakra to keep you afloat. It'll test your level of chakra control and your endurance, giving me the platform I'll need to individualize your training regime." Kei explained to the first student.

Daisuke's eyes lit up with excitement when Kei spoke. "As ripped as you are?" He looked up and imagined his face on Kei's body. His body shivered with delight as he took off his shoes. "Whatever you say, Kei sensei!" He stumbled a bit as he hopped forword, still pulling off his right shoe. "The water walking technique. We learned this in the accademy." Daisuke focused chakra into the soles of his feet and placed one foot on the water. His foot landed flat on top the water and didn't sink, as if he were standing on flat land. He did the same with his other foot and began to stride across the pond until he was across from Kei.
A bead of nervous sweat rolled down Daisuke's face as he faced Kei. Keeping his concentration on the water moving underneath him and sparring against Kei at the same time, would be no easy task. Daisuke though of a way to make it more of a challenge for himself. He wanted to test hismelf to be able to come off of the water three times in a row and land as if he were back on land without falling in. It would be difficult, but difficulty is what made life so worth living for Daisuke. To him, everything could be a challenge depending on how he looked at it. His constant stupid grin had been wiped off in the blink of an eye and had been replaced with a stern look of determination. He slid his right foot back and bent his left knee while he pulled back his right arm and held his left arm up, his hands tightly clenched into fists.

Kei watched as Daisuke picked his stance and held it on the water. 'Strong, well defined but not very flexible.' Kei thought as he fell into a stance himself; he raised himself up onto his toes on slid his right foot back, leading with his weak side; his hands came up to shoulder height but they only curled, still open in case he needed to grab.
His stance was alot more flexible as it would enable him to evade attacks faster than the fixed position that Daisuke had chosen but also allowed for a variation of moves. Kei decided since he was the instructor he should be the aggresor and try to detect his genin's flaws.
So, Kei sprinted forward; by running on his toes and extending his legs, he was able to cross the distance betweenhimself and the genin very quickly, making as little contact as necessary on the water. When he got within range, he decided he would show Daisuke the benefits of a free form stance rather than a fixe stance.
Lifting his left foot, Kei planted it on Daisuke's left thigh which gave him the platform he needed to complete his chosen move. Kei swung his right foot upwards and over the genin's right shoulder, so his leg circled the genin's neck and his left leg came up so Kei could lock his right foot behind his left knee. Then rolling backwards, away from Daisuke's back and planting his hands the small of the genin's back, Kei attempted to throw the genin with a backflip from his flying triangle chokehold.
The attack utilized was designed to disorientate Daisuke and throwing him would force the young shinobi to react quickly, by reorienting himself and controlling his chakra so he could stay on top of the water. It was a fast past taijutsu move that was hard to counter if one didn't know some form of grappling martial art.

Daisuke hadn't expected Kei to move so quickly. It was true that his stance wasn't flexable and Daisuke knew that. As Kei came at him, Daisuke's body tensed up. He opened his hands and held them both infront of him. When Kei came close enough, Daisuke thrusted out with his right leg. He wanted to try to make Kei move back from coming at him and then charge for an attack to his gut, but he had kicked too late. Just as he got his foot off the ground, Kei's attack took him by surprise. It came too quickly for him to even try and defend himself and he was thrown through the air like a rag doll. Daisuke's body twisted and turned through the air.
As he came back down, he remembered his goal and saw that this was a good enough time to act on it. He focused his chakra into his plams, forearms, shins, and feet. He wasn't sure how he would land, but he was falling face down so he focused chakra where he thought it would be appropriate. He smacked down on the water and a wave shot up above his head. The water fell back down to reveal that he had almost made the first part of his goal. He had smacked on the water with his arms and legs, not on his feet. However, his head was submerged underwater. To Daisuke, it didn't count unless his entire body was above water. He lifted his head and stood straight, his hair down over his eyes. He fliped his hair back up to reveal a red face from smacking it on the water. He got into another stance wher he was on the balls of his toes hopping around while his arms were up, but loose. "This is fun, Kei sensei!"

Kei completed his throw and managed to execute a back hand spring to keep himself up on the water, twisting in the air he managed to land in a crouch facing Daisuke as the genin landed on the water. He noticed how the boy had managed to catch himself but his head had been dunked under the water. When he parted his hair, Kei winced slightly as the boy's face was red from the impact.
But what impressed him was how the boy climbed to his feet and assumed a new posture, 'He adapts quickly, which is good and he managed to catch himself on the fall if not perfectly nearly so.' Kei muled this over in his head as he stood up and took his stance again. 'His chakra control is good and he is stable on the water, which leaves the only question being the state of his stamina. How far can I push him?' was what Kei was thinking.
Sprinting in again, Kei waited until he was exceptionally close to throws his legs out and try a slide tackel on Daisuke, with a twist. By pushing up with his hands at the last second, Kei could execute a feint manuever and instead of bowling into Daisuke, hit him with an up kick. Which would be all the more effective if Daisuke tried to jump the feinted slide tackel and wound up getting hit by the true up kick.

Daisuke had begun to move in closer to Kei. He kept bouncing around and moving his arms. He knew Kei was simply testing him, but he was pretending he was in an actual match in the arena. As Kei closed the gap between the two, Daisuke saw that kei was going to tackle him. He prepared himself for the hit, but he was also thinking of other possible attacks that could be thrown into the mix. he thought of a punch or another grapple, not a kick. Daisuke combat rolled to the side, dodging the tackle, but the kick was unexpected. He had to think quick on how to evade the kick. He didn't think of a way quick enough, so he immediatly stopped the flow of chakra to him feet and sunk underwater. However, Kei's foot managed to make contact with the top of Daisuke's head, sending back a little bit in the water.
Under the water. Daisuke rubbed his head where Kei's foot had hit him. He got over it quickly and swam up to the surface again. He peered through his hair at Kei, his stupid grin back on his face. He was having fun with the training. He now looked forward to training with Kei whenever possible. He placed his hand on top of the water and pulled himself up. His body was heavy because of his clothes, but Daisuke didn't care. He imagined that they were weights that were put on him to train him further. He got into his previous stance and took a deep breath. "If it's okay with you, Kei sensei, now I'm going to try and land a hit on you!"
Daisuke sprinted over to Kei, his spped was slower than usual because of his clohtes, but it didn't matter to him. He cocked both of his arms and thrusted them out infront of him. He wanted to see if Kei would grab them like he wanted. He was training himself to try and think like his opponent would.

Kei smiled at Daisuke enjoying the genin's enthusiaism so when the boy wanted to make a move of his own Kei waved him on. Kei holding his usual stance prepared for what Daisuke planned on throwing at him; so when he saw a two handed push he thought he should teach the kid a quick martial arts technique.
Raising his hands up, Kei brought them between Daisuke's wrists and pushed outwards, forcing the arms to the side. His hands moving quickly now, but Kei held back a bit since his right hand moved forward and used a palm strike on Daisuke's left floating rib. Anticipating Daisuke to lean in because of his inertia, Kei brought his left hand up and chopped at the side of the genin's neck, to shock the jugular vein thus freezing the brain so Kei could chamber his right hand and throw a knuckle punch into Daisuke's solar plexus which would wind an opponent and usually send them prostrate to the ground.
At full force, Kei would most likely have broken the genin's rib and his sternum, but holding back as he was the forces at be were only strong enough to cause the desired effects with bruising force.

Kei hadn't done what Daisuke wanted, which showed him another thing he needed to work on. His arms were wrenched away from each other as Kei's palm hit his chest. Just as Kei predicted, Daisuke began to fall forward, allowing the chop to the neck. This froze Daisuke as he fell completley victim to Kei's attacks. The punch knocked the wind out of Daisuke and knocked him backwards, flopping down on the water. He quickly focused chakra to the back of him to prevent falling in. Unlike the first time he attempted to catch himself from sinking, his whole body stopped ontop of the water and not a single hair underneath. He groaned as he got up, rubbing his stomach. He rested on his knees as he looked up to kei. "Kei sensei? What does this train me in again?" He groaned once more as he rose to his feet. 'At least I can stop myself from sinking.'

Kei smiled to himself as Daisuke climbed to his knees, "Right now I'm testing your level of chakra control and your level of stamina. From what I've seen so far you're above average in chaka control but to test your level of stamina I'm going to have to find a more efficient way of testing that. I don't think knocking you all over the place is the most efficient way to handle; although I'm going to have to refine your taijutsu." Kei said as he helped Daisuke to his feet.
"I think it's about time we met your team mates." Kei said as he heard Ryutsumi calling out from the edge of the training area. "From the sounds of it I'm going to guess your female comrade, Ryutsumi, is on the edge of the high grass. Which means she'll have to cross through the traps to get to us, but I should probablly give her some incentive." Kei said as he started walking to the edge of the pond to his chair.
The seventeen year old jounin stood in the dirt training yard and put his hands together. Measuring out the amount of chakra he would need and set his hands through a set of seals. Taking in a deep breath and finishing the jutsu brought his hand up and spewed a gout of flame up into the air as a flare for Ryutsumi to see and move towards. "Daisuke, what do you want from a teacher like me? I'm a master of wind jutsu and not exactly a stranger to fire jutsus either, I once experimented in weather jutsus aswell; which Chaos will attest to." Kei asked his genin without turning around.

As Kei helped Daisuke up, wiped the water from his face. "Above average? Thats good!" He put his finger to his chin and began to think. "I have an idea! What about running?" He placed his hands on his hips as he began to explian. "You could compare how long I can run for compared to the average amount of time a Genin can run for. That would work, right?"
Daisuke looked over to Ryutsumi. He had never met her before and was pleased to make another friend. He flailed his arms in a friendly gesture. "Hi Ryutsumi! I look forward to training with you!" He turned his head to see that Kei wasn't there.
Daisuke found Kei on the dirt making handseals. 'Is he going to show us something cool?' he thought to himself. As fire exploded from Kei's mouth, Daisuke didn't seem at all excited. It wasn't something unique to use fire, so it wasn't enough to get him excited. Daisuke heard the word weather come from Kei's mouth and every hair on his body stood on edge. "Weather! I use weather jutsu! So far I've only been able to manipulate the weather. But for now, thats good enough because if I'm pit against someone who is a water jutsu user, all I need to do is increase the temperature enough to cause the water to evaporate and poof! Bye bye any water jutsu. Same for fire, only I make it rain. And for earth, I make it snow, creating a sheet of ice underneath it, not allowing earth jutsus to be used."
