Alright SGD I wasn't sure if you may have read this or not but I recently stumbled into a(n) article about a lady whom was discovered dead just this year after 42 years. She was discovered dead sitting in the same position for decades and the tea she was about to drink was still there. That was a summary so here's the actual article:
Hedviga Golik made herself a cup of tea and sat down to watch some television in her hometown of Zagreb, Croatia. Sadly, she died in her chair. This was in 1966. She was just found, 42 years later, in her time capsule mausoleum where she's been sitting ever since. She never finished her tea.
What's absurd is that she was in fact reported missing, but somehow no one ever checked her apartment, which leads me to believe no one checked anywhere. I mean, where else do you look for someone when they're missing? I don't understand it. Her neighbors apparently just assumed she moved out of her apartment, and she was finally found when the police broke in to figure out who owned the place.
A police spokesman said: "When officers went there, they said it was like stepping into a place frozen in time. The cup she had been drinking tea from was still on a table next to the chair she had been sitting in and the house was full of things no one had seen for decades. Nothing had been disturbed for decades, even though there were more than a few cobwebs in there."
Discuss: Odd deaths Death stories and or relevant mysteries.

Huh. That'd be an interesting thing to see. I wonder what she was watching on TV...and what kind of TV it was. >>; But that's beside the point. Why would someone report a person missing without checking their home? oO
..Wouldn't it be neat if she was murdered? o.o Well like...not really. But.. xD;; Like if that was a CSI episode. "Well it's been 42 years. The killer is probably dead."
Also, her name SUCKS.

Hmm, something just doesn't ring right about this story-- The tea would've evaporated.
Police don't just ignore checks for missing people... at least where I live. I do voluntary work for the P.D. in my city so I know. ninja

That's what I would've thought and it's a very odd story none the less. neutral

its like that movie "waking Ned Devine" for some reason where he won the lottery and died from shock perfectly preserved it was a good movie from what i remember
anyway there a lot of odd deaths, and i kinda wish my death was odd when it eventually comes well not so much odd, but story worthy
i hope its not like that lady though where noone really cared enough to check

I remember hearing about that on the radio! I just don't understand how. Do you think no one wanted to deal with it, or what? I heard she was mummified, too.
Spontaneous combustion, now THAT is scary and weird.

Hrmm... Now that I look at this thread, it seems as though it would be better suited to be in the SGD's GD section. Would you mind if I moved it there?
