Prologue

There was a time before these dark ages. Its hard to believe now, but its true, there once existed a place where we were not silenced by the dim-wit of the masses; were discussion and debate was prided on. Of course, this was before the violent take over that left our homeland a mere shell of its former self. Of course, there are a brave few who stand against this tyrany. But their small numbers are banished from the place of their former glory; forced into hiding, only able to manage few valient attempts at restoring the order. these attempts, however, are most often in vain, and those rebels are forced once again back into hiding.
It was not always like this, but it is like this now.
Our homeland, the former republic GD, was all too quickly ripped from us, and shifted into the communist regime it is today.
However, there is hope for our hereos and heroines.
And i guess its best if i start this story there, because like every great story in the history of time, this story starts when a boy met a girl.

Chapter 1

This was a rare day indeed. Virgil was never caught in the ghost of his former homeland; in fact he shyed away from it constantly. Popping up only to scour over the decrepid cities that now constituted the once glorious GD. But today was a rare day. Not only was Virgil out of hiding, but he was also contributing to the cities! But the more he met these new people, the more he heard what they had to say, the sicker his stomach got. His heart longed so much for the safe and warm homeland that was now all but a memory. Virgil recalled all he remembered about the GD:
Virgil, was not always Virgil; in fact in the days of the former Republic he was known by a much different name. But, he relenquished his former life and gave up not only his homeland, but gave up on the Gaia-world all together. Leaving it behind, and never looking back; fighting off the urges to ever return. Until one day, those urges overtook him and he returned in full furry. The GD wasnt the same; but it wasnt that different. there were some of the same old face; but there were also new ones. Different ones; a new breed. Fearing he must conform in order to survive, "the person Virgil used to be" (as we do not use his former name anymore) did the unthinkable, he began to emulate these new rulers. Until, forces greater than him, or anyone in the GD, the God-Mods of Gaia, bannished him for life.
A long hard year followed, and the GD was nothing to him anymore, he had not even any memories of his time there. One day, however, on a pilgramige of sorts, he assumed the name Virgil and returned to his homeland; only to find that there was nothing left that even resembled home. There were even newer faces, the older ones were too few and far between. But this was something worse than just a change in leadership, as the republic of GD was accustumed to regime changes. This was different completely; there was no longer any fostering of the intellectual banter that made the GD a refuge for those who needed shelter from the harsh wind of the dull. There was nothing left, everything was different; it went to from being a fair and equal society with a nurturing nature to a barberic dog-eat-dog society where the intelligent were suppressed. Forced into exile; because they were simply outnumbered. It was the most heartbreaking thing he had ever seen, the place he had first been fostered to speak freely, was now crushing those who had anything intelligent to say.
This cannot be the GD! Not in this state! Where are the others, there had to be others like him! But they were so few they were easily outnumbered and sequestered.
But this was a rare day.
And on rare days, extrordinary things are bound to happen, and they did. When Virgil went into a city we'll simply call; "The Post".
