This is a private thread between my partner, JusticeMaid21, and myself. It is as stated above, a RP based off of the story of Labyrinth. This, however, picks up where the story left off and I hope it is to become quite good.

Three years. Not a long time when you really thought about it, but it was enough time for a young dreamer to grow into a young woman. She'd put away the signs of her youth, all her toys and trinkets that had been her entire world for so long. She spent more time with her family and less out on her own playing a part that wasn't hers. Sarah Williams had left it all behind. All the fantasy and adventure, all the memories of a place that wasn't on earth. She'd left it behind and forced herself back into reality.

She still secretly spoke to her old friends from time to time, still participated in plays and musicals that her school put on, but it was just acting now. She no longer believed in fairy tales, she just acted for them. She was going to college on an art scholorship. She'd discovered she was a decent artist after the fact, and drew the beautiful landscapes she'd run through in her youth.

Sarah did not speak the name of the villan of her childhood story, did not mention him by gesture or referance. For to speak his name was to invoke his presence. She hadn't the strength to fight him a second time, nor the inclination. With Toby safe and her leson learned, she just wanted to put it all behind her. One bad dream.

Three years... An eternity if you really thought about it. He had not changed at all in the three years since his defeat by a young girl. Sarah... The name still hung in the air before him, taunting him mercilessly, torturing his soul as it had for the past three years.

He was the onlyhuman looking creature in his realm of goblins. The only one with power. He used to think it was all the power in the universe until she showed him otherwise. So many things had changed in the past three years, but one thing was certain. He had not.

He pulled out his crystal and gazed deeply into it like he did every day now. All his attention would be focused on the one thing shown in the crystal, her... She occupied his every waking moment. He was obsessed with her and could think of nothing else. He had watched her grow into a fine young woman over the past three years and wondered if she ever thought about him as he thought about her...

She moved easily through her room, her lean body graceful from years of helping in the theatre department at school. She'd learned to waltz that way, among other dances. Today she was practicing a dance called the polka. Sarah had landed a leading role in the musical production for the spring at the local collage.

Sarah finally moved to her vanity, staring at her reflection in the mirror. She looked so much like her mother now, with her thick dark hair and shimmering eyes. She was a lovely young woman now, at least her father told her she was. Nobody at school ever saw that in her, but that was because she didn't want them to. She didn't want to be involved just yet.

She was so beautiful. So slender and pale with her long flowing raven hair and eyes like stars. She moved so gracefully, it almost seemed unreal...

She was the perfect one to be his queen. He knew it from the very bottom of his soul that she was the one, but he knew she thought him to be a monster... More monstrous and ugly than even the lowliest of his henchmen. True, he was the most handsome creature in his realm, but it was his inner being that she despised most. He knew he could never change who he was, but that did nothing to extinguish the fire burning for her inside him...

[Sorry, I've been preparing for my mission trip with my church group. I'll be gone from the 2nd to the 10th of August to Mississippi to help build houses. I wanted to let you know so you could be prepared for my long absence sweatdrop ]

((Okay. I don't mind waiting for a reply. Where in Mississippi are you going to be?))

She was getting the impression that she was being watched. Sarah stopped her practice and looked around, trying to figure out where the feeling was originating from. She went over and looked out her bedroom door then went to the window and looked out there as well.

Sarah pushed her hair back over her shoulder then went back to the vanity. "Maybe one of my friends is trying to get to me."

(I spent most of my time in Biloxi and the surrounding areas and when I went to Louisiana I spent my time in New Orleans)

He knew she could still sense him. She would always have a connection to him since she played the game those short few years ago. They would be forever intertwined and connected...

He continued to gaze longingly, hoping foolishly that their destinies would cross paths again someday. He sometimes almost felt like reaching out through the crystal and making his presence known to her but he knew it was impossible. She had broken his power over her when she realized what he had done to her was nothing more than illusion...

How the thought tormented him, agonizing his aching heart...

(Wow, that must have been exciting.)

She knew better than to discredit a bad feeling, especially one where she really could have had someone watching her. Mainly a certain Goblin King, but you never knew. It was just that she didn't really believe anymore, despite everything she'd learned. She was well on her way to being able to either become a professional actress or a theatre teacher, whichever way fate sent her. There was precious little time to dwell on the past, or on the king that she had turned away.

Finally she sat down at the vanity, staring at her reflection in the mirror. "So little time these days, but they are still my friends. I believe in magic still, at least enough for Hoggle and the others to come and see me." She told her reflection, hoping that maybe it had the answers she wanted.

Sarah shook her head, smiling slightly at herself. "Who am I kidding? I've fallen into a routine, which I swore I'd never do. I love being on stage, but..." It was becomming harder and harder to believe the adventure of her childhood had actually happened.

(It was. Very exciting. I especially enjoyed the Cathedral of Saint Louis.)

He sat, brooding over her appearance in the crystal as outside the stormclouds gathered and intensified to match his mood. The more angry he became, the worse the weather turned.

He knew contacting her was impossible for himself. But perhaps one of the friends she kept contact with would be the perfect gateway to deliver his influence upon her...

The idea was so brilliant it could only come from him. Now which one of those creatures would be the best choice..? He would have to ponder this quite heavily, for one mistake would ruin this ingenious plan...

Sarah stared hard at her reflection then sighed, finally giving in to the feeling she'd been having for days now. "Hoggle, I need you." It was what he'd told her to say if she wanted to say it, something she hadn't said in a long time. She wanted to see her friend, perhaps he could help her figure out what was wrong with her.

She longed for the adventure and excitement being in the Labyrinth had given her, the feeling that she was doing something worthwile with her life. Was that so much to ask, so big a dream to have?

Hoggle suddenly appeared before her in her mirror. "What do you need Sarah? Are you alright? Remember we're always here for you"

Jareth suddenly decided which one of her friends would be the perfect one to use against her. He sat about making the preparations with a renewed sense of vigor and life inside him...

"Hoggle!" She said happily, pressing her palms to the mirror in greeting. "I think something is wrong with me." She shook her head, carefully adjusting her long hair back over her shoulder before continuing. "I keep thinking that maybe everything was a dream, but I know it was real. The longer I go here without any sort of magic the less I want to believe. I miss the adventure of it all, Hoggle. What do I do?"

He smiled at her, his ugly little face creasing all over as he did so. They were each others first true friend and had always cherished that ever since.

"Sarah, if you stop believing, then we can't come to you anymore. It's noth that we wouldd't want to, but if you don't believe i magic, then how can you expect to see it?"

His smile suddenly dropped into an ugly little sad face. He hoped that Sarah never stopped believing in him: in them. He never wanted to lose his first true friend...

In his castel, Jareth began preparing his plans to use that fool Didymus to do his dark bidding. He let out an evil chuckle...

"I don't want to forget, Hoggle." She told the toadish creature in her mirror, her bright eyes glazing over with tears. "I just don't know what to do anymore. I want to believe, I really do, but the longer I go without seeing magic the less I want to believe."

She stepped back from the mirror. "The visits are coming less and less, but I don't mean for it to be that way."
