Brutus the Dehumanized

The Forge

Before you stands a small, but humble forge. Tucked away in an abandoned wing of one of the oldest parts of the Brotherhood's bunker, it is here that melee weapons and metal armors are forged with hand and hammer. Unlike the items created by robots and mass production, the items forged here are made by skilled smiths with a loving yet steady and brutal hand.

As you enter the large opening where swinging double doors once stood, you notice an anvil sitting in the middle of the room, bolted to the floor. It becomes apparent that the majority of the room was fashioned around that one key element. Behind it sits the large furnace used for smelting, heating, crafting etc. and on the wall to the left sits a few tables with miscelaneous tools and pieces of projects yet to be completed. Any item required to make or fix a weapon or suit of armor can be found on these tables, the tool racks above the tables or tool boxes underneath the tables. Opposite of the tables, on the right wall sits racks and wooden manikins where a person's completed project can be inspected and/or picked up. The heat blasting from the furnace is always intense and thus the room is always hot, giving a stale and muggy atmosphere.
In the back of the room, to the right of the furnace sits a little side room. It's big enough to have someone sit and work quietly, perhaps to shine a piece of metal up or make something extra pretty. In the hustle and bustle that is a forge, sometimes a little quiet time is needed.

Smiths:
Brutus the Dehumanized = Head Smith

Policy:
Any project presented to a smith is to first be approved by the General. Once the project is passed, simply post here and tap a smith on the shoulder, explaining the change or new weapon you wish to be forged. To give you an idea of some of the custom things that can be created, here's a list:

In addition, changes can be made to a weapon or suit of metal armor (this includes Metal Armor, Metal Armor MKII, Ghoul Armor, Advanced Ghoul Armor, Mutant Armor and Mutant Armor MKII.), but must have some sort of draw back. For example, a suit of Metal armor could be reduced in weight, thus making it lighter and easier to move in, but will not provide as much protection. Any moddification made to a weapon will only boost it's damage slightly, but for all other instances is strictly for customization and role playing purposes.

Lyanah grinned as she walked into the forge, brutus was already there sitting in silence. Pretty soon there was going to be alot of noise goin on in here, that seemed to happen when a bunch of them got together. Clearing her throat softly to announce her presence she smiled.

"Hey Brutus...." here she jokingly performed a salute grinning from ear to ear "Sister Lyanah reporting for duty sir!"

"Good to hear Sister Knight Lyanah." Alex voice resonated from behind Lyanah, As Alex came walking up behind her waving gently towards the bunch.

"I got your message and seeing how i don't have anything better to do.. So where do you need me cheif?" Alex said lazily as she dusted her hands while inspecting the forge.

Fina walked slowly up behind Alex, grinning that usual big grin she always had... Though it wasn't really all that visible. She had her Stealth Boy on... She usually kept her favorite toy on when just strolling around the base. Earlier she'd received that message, so she guessed visiting the forge wouldn't be such a bad way to spend her time. Reaching up, she poked the back of Alex's neck, then moved away, sidestepping as quickly as she could, but not so quick as to abandon her silence. She knew how to stay quiet quite well.

After doing this, and hopefully having Alex turn and look where she was, to find nothing there, she'd stroll on into the forge, deactivating her Stealth Boy along the way. "Watcha up to peoples?"

"Im glad you were able to come my sisters!"
He turned to face Lyanah and returned her playful salute and muttered an "at ease soldier" before turning to Alex and grinning.
"Well, knowing you aint much of the feminine type, I guess you could be helping me at the anvil if you want, unless of course you wanna sew or take measurement on supplies and size. Choice is yours really."
He then felt the presence of his third sister, but wasnt sure is she was really there or not until she popped out of thin air. With a chuckle he looked at her.
"You know damn well what we're doin here! Once Lucimorth and Lypse show up we can start. It's funny. I was thinking about all my friends and realised most of them were girls. Figures huh?"

Turning half way around Alex cranked her neck over her shoulder as she felt some poke swiftly poke her and dodge to the side as she felt the wind stroke up against her, swiftly turning back around to see Fine `Pop“ Up out of thin air with a grin.

Chuckeling slightly and giving the girl a swift pat on the back as she passed her by and walked up to the anvil and grabbed one of the heavy Sledges used for pounding steel bars.
"Well to be completely honest Brutus my dear, you've always been the more feminine one." Alex said with a light chuckle as she hefted the sledge hammer up and rested it against her shoulder.

"So... What needs pounding?" Alex asked as she looked around curiously.

"Well I spose this is true Alex."
He laughed and rubed his eyes.
"Dont be jealous that i have actualy emotions and feelings. And nothing needs pounding yet, first we gotta get the furnace hot enough and then melt down some of the suits of armor. Once thats done we can start actualy forgin the armor. Before any of this can happen though, we gotta take my measurments for a breast plate, greaves, boots, gauntlets and a helmet."

Mark walked into the forge as it was now dubbed with a small crate on a dolly. Seeing Alex, Fina, and Lyanah he chuckled at this little moment hearing Brutus say how he had more female friends. "We just need to find a female super mutant for you Brutus" he said pulling the dolly behind him.

Hearing Alex make the comment about pounding a little immaturity flew through his mind, "that's what she said" he said with a grin on his face, but immediately wiped it off considering that the girls out numbered him three to one. If they decided to attack one had stealth another had a sledge and the other well... don't know what she would do. Mark knew Brutus would just stand there and laugh at him.

Fina canted her head towards mark for a moment, her grin growing slightly. "Oh it's gon' be so much fun workin' with tha people here..." She let out, mentally plotting to sabotage his locker with a sort of jack-in-the-box surprise.

"Couldnt agree with you more Mark! And thanks for bringing the extra scrap, I'm sure we'll be able to use it at some point. You can stay and help if you want.""
He nodded with his eyes closed.
"The more the marrier."

Letting out a quiet sigh Alex put the hammer down with a loud thud as she dropped it on the ground, eyeing Mark quietly and smirking at him.

Leaning up against the wall Alex canted her head to the side as she looked over the group while she quietly tried to dislodge a piece of food that had gotten stuck between her teeth.
"So when can we actually plan on getting to work..?" Alex asked impatiently while she spit on the ground.

"Well, we can get started right now if you want."
Brutus moved to the wall full of materials and tools, taking out 2 shovels and tossing one to Alex.
"Let's start shoveling coal into the furnace and get a good fire started. Once it gets hot enough we can melt down the scrap into blocks, then start making the suit itself."
He then made his way to the furnace which was empty and lifeless. A large container full of coal sat close by, which Brutus shoved the head of the shovel into and then threw the black mineral into the furnace.

Catching the shovel Alex eyed it curiously as she watched the Mutant shovel coal.
"Yeah.... No.." Alex said with a demeaning voice as she lobbed the shovel over towards Mark, while continuing to look around.

"lil' rabbit, What're ye up to? Any big secret buried treasure around?"Alex said jokingly as she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned forward closer towards Fina, grinning slightly as she did.

Fina let out a slight chuckle. "Oh, I was hopin there'd be somma that but it dun' look like it."

She then let the smirk die down a little as the chuckle did. "Actually, I came here ta see if I c'n get a new version'a this made fer ma'self." She let out, reaching to her back to remove a rusted, old looking blade from her belt. It looked a bit longer than a knife, but wasn't long enough to be a sword, and it looked 'oriental' as people used to call it.
[Can we say Wakizashi from Fallout 2?]

"Somethin' new fer ma'self. Wanted a lil extra reach than this ol' combat knife but not somethin' quite as big as a spear or some length'o'pipe."

She let her look over it as she liked, then continued. "'n exchange, i'll be tryin ma hand at sewin' here, fer the interior of tha armor, fer comfort an' all."

Brutus threw a few more shovels full of coal into the furnace before loking at the blade Fina held in her hand. He leaned the shovel against the furnace and then motined for her to give the knife to him.
"Let me see it for a minute."
He examined the blade and thought for a moment.
"Wel you're right. It's too long for a knife and too short for a sword, so that means it would be a short sword. Im sure I can find out more about the blade later and try to reforge it a little later."
He smiled at her and then went back to shoveling.
