http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1Pt5YhFMV0This is very important. The Petition is dead. If you've ever looked at it then you'll see that the names and the age of it makes it dead. Not even I would take it seriously and I am FOR the cause. So, help your Monkees out. I'm currently getting the word to the Monkees themselves. As well as other big Monkees sites that are still active such as MonkeeLand. Help out? Pass the word? Get it every where. I'm tired if sitting down doing nothing about this. Which I know I For one am NOT sitting around. I'm getting the word to the Monkees themselves. All communities I can find. Sites that are still active. Everything and everywhere i can think of. So.... join us? -Wolf

Jann Wenner will never allow it while he has a say so:
"In June 2007, Monkees bassist Peter Tork alleged to the New York Post that Wenner is excluding the group from the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and Museum. Tork claims that Wenner who co-founded and is a vice-chairman of the Cleveland-based museum, "doesn't care what the rules are and just operates how he sees fit. It is an abuse of power. I don't know whether The Monkees belong in the Hall of Fame, but it's pretty clear that we're not in there because of a personal whim." Tork believes Wenner doesn't like the fact that The Monkees, who were originally cast as actors for a TV sitcom, didn't play their own instruments on their first two records. "Jann seems to have taken it harder than everyone else, and now, 40 years later, everybody says, 'What's the big deal? Everybody else does it.' Nobody cares now except him. He feels his moral judgment in 1967 and 1968 is supposed to serve in 2007."[citation needed]" from Wikipedia
There is also a good Blog entry by a guy named Michael Manning which explains Wenner's prejudice to The Monkees and Grand Funk Railroad.

Hm? We KNOW it's a long shot and we KNOW what we're up against but do you think we should just screw it and abandon it all? NO! Thats a stupid way of thinking. Yea long shot great.... but we're still gonna try. The more people that swallows their pessimism and takes part in this campaign and the better chance we have. Even when it looks like it's not going anywhere we must still try. Even with that b***h against us we'll still do it.

Yea Peter wrote it and to top it all off it was on Headquarters I think it only appropriate our 'theme' be from Headquarters or Justus cause those were the 2 completely Monkee. And For Pete's Sake falls right in.
Well Baby Face seems to be our spokesperson or something.... so if people stand in our way you know what Baby Face'll do to 'em lol LOL! Mike hit a wall and probably break a hand in his age.... hopefully it'll be a weak wall.
Peter would probably start about the money grubbing fat-cat pigs micky...... yea probably blow something up by accident cause that would be brilliantly funny...

yea but still... Mike still wrote on those and even forced them to let Peter play on one of his songs. Even before they were allowed power they were still fighting for it. They aced the same kind if not more difficulties as normal groups do. *punchs the guy* I mean.. lol
