First I want to thank Xavier Damien for making me a Crew Member smile Much appreciated lol.

Second of all, I'll post a few of my poems and I'd appreciate any criticism you can offer smile

Love in Affliction
I wrote this about my best friend and I, we care deeply for each other. But life's gotten in the way. I hope you enjoy it smile Any criticism is welcomed. By the way I've gotten a lot of tips on using meters, and whatnot. Personally I feel using meters is a little binding so I don't use them much. Thanks smile

Day after day you run through my mind
You’re definately one of a kind
The colour of your hair
That smile I love to see you wear
But I can’t keep thinking about you
I can only hope you’re thinking of me too
You’re the one who broke my heart
You’re the one who let me fall apart
Why do I keep trusting you like this?
Is it true, ignorance is bliss?
I need to remember but never forget
Put all this behind me and have not one regret
Every word I spoke was true, no word was a lie
You knew it too, yet you still told me goodbye
Nothing is perfect, but if you care to let me boast
You definately came pretty damn close
But you just turned around and walked away
Never even gave me the time of day
You told me you felt the same then disappeared
I waited for all my questions to be cleared
The tears spilled over, flowing down my cheek
I wish I could tell you but I guess I’m too weak
I love you now, I love you always
I can tell you now it’s not a phase
I know you have to go, you want to go
I understand, you know that I know
Life’s taken us in different directions
This tells us our love’s in affliction
I want you to know, I want you to care
Know that I will always be there
No matter what you decide to do
I want you to decide what’s right for you
Where ever you go I want you to be happy
Even if it means going on without me

Same Old Aged Story
I was listening to "Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride one night and I randomly got inspired to write a poem about a young girl who was abused by her dad. If you've never heard the song, go look up the music video on youtube. It's a beautiful song. But very sad sad Again criticism is welcomed smile

Same old aged story
An angry father
A defenseless daughter
Nothing but screams of « I’m Sorry! »

She doesn’t know what she’s done
Or why she deserves this
He leans down to give her a kiss
He smiles now, he’s had his fun

She cries silently
« Why daddy? Why? »
Sometimes she wished she could just die
He locks the door, only one key

It’s the same routine everyday
He comes home furious
She stopped being curious
She takes the beating, continues thinking « It will all be okay »

She hides every single mark
No one notices her silence
She’s the quiet one, never in defiance
Afraid of speaking up, and being locked in the dark

« If you tell a soul... » The same threat over and over again
She continues to cry, wishing she could tell someone
Let go of the burden, wishing this all to be done
Continues wishing, to find a safe haven

One day her sleeve slips up
The teacher asks how she got hurt
« I tripped that’s all, I fell in the dirt »
The teacher disbelieving wonders what’s up

Again and again, a hit, a cry, a « Shut it! »
She knows she won’t have much longer
He’s getting out of hand, and nothing but stronger
She wonders how her mother took his fits

Almost too late she decides to tell
Coming to school one day, limping on one foot
She walked up to her teacher, gave her a look
The teacher looked sadly, as the girl’s tears fell

No words needed to be said
The teacher knew what was going on
She called the police, but daddy was long gone
The girl knew she wouldn’t end up dead

No more days of wishing she wasn’t born
No more fears of daddy coming back
Her life finally getting back on track
No longer was forlorn

She can visit mommy’s gravestone
Visiting the angel she missed most
Always feeling the presensce of her ghost
Now she never felt alone

She hugs her newborn daughter
A new found father walks towards his child
A little protective new mommy’s eyes go wild
« Don’t worry, I won’t hurt her. »

A man and a little girl sharing a moment
She smiles, knowing that not all men are horrible
Knowing that this daughter father moment is truely adorable
Glad to know that not all men only torment.

When I'm With You
I honestly don't remember when I wrote this and why, but I randomly found it in a word document while I was cleaning up my computer. Enjoy smile

As I let my mind wander to whatever thoughts
One strikes me harder than the rest
I think of you and I get butterflies all over again
But as I realize the end has already come I begin to cry

I tried to move on, I guess too quickly
I thought I had found someone new
But it seems no one can take your place
And it’s sad cause I wish you would.

I lay there thinking every night
I want you and no one else
I have to break another’s heart
Because mine belongs to you

I don’t care about the distance
I don’t care about the abscence
All I care about is you
And being the one for you

It’s sad to say that it’s the end
I wish you thought the way I do
We can overcome the distance
As long as we both stay true

Everything seems perfect when we’re together
In the moment where our lips meet, life is amazing
In the moments when I’m in your arms
It feels so right when I’m with you.
