This idea came up in another thread, and I was wondering if anyone was actually interested in implementing it.
The idea is to create a sort of Gaian communist mini-nation. We're Gaians, we can do silly s**t like this rofl
Basically, everyone contributes and helps out in some way. Some run shops, others help with said shops, others manage the guild, others keep an eye on the market and sell group member items at the best possible prices...etc!
However, we'd have to be careful because Gaia is not real life, it would be far too easy for someone to just join the guild and receive money. It would have to be private, invite only, and only people we trust. IE, not every member of the party gets in, unfortunately. They'd also have to help out of course or be kicked out.
An alternative is to not simply give earned money to the group but to have 30% or so of each member's money dedicated to the commune, and ready to be used if a comrade in the commune needed it.
Thoughts?
If there's any place we can easily prove the system works, it's here razz

XD I love it! We could also try to see if we can't get homes all in the same section of towns!
I'd be willing to offer up all the money that's going to my Dark Halo quest to set up a new guild if that's what I'll come to. I love this idea.

LOL, glad ya do. I displaced my home trying to get it near Leninator's, then found there were no vacant homes razz So we should scope out first...
And I'd be willing to put some money down, too.
I do feel like its bad to create another guild out of the guild we're already in >_> But considering it won't really be a place much will be happening and all the commie discussion will be here still, I think it's fine XD

Personally, I think this is an excellent idea.
Though I do not care for my home at all now, or my car.
I would love to change the place of my home into a location with only friends and I'm willing to support the commune in any way.
This could make me actually visit my own home now and then and maybe do some improvements.
This could be an excellent experiment and see if things could work out, though very virtual, but it's the best option we have at the moment to analyze and come to conclusions.

Haha, yea, I don't really care for it too.
I've always seen Gaia as just a reflection of the world, only amplified to the extreme. So it would be an interesting endeavor, indeed...and perhaps a neat way to bring interested people to the GCP.

Yikes, wow.
Well, I think it would be more fair if everyone who wanted to start it both:
1. Donated an equal share
2. Agreed to contribute in some way (either start their own shop, help with other's shops, help in some other way, etc)
3. Move to an agreed on area
I think it would also be best if we simply started sharing our INCOME once in the guild. Because if the idea fails, and we've all contributed 100% of our current gold, that can be really bad for all of us. Instead I feel it would be more fair to start sharing income.
Besides, I've got a commission for 50k gold coming up soon, I'll count that as income for the guild even if we don't get started soon enough for it too, just to start us off. wink

Relocating our homes is going to be hard. We'll need to find a VERY out of the way spot so we can hopefully all relocate there at once without interference. We should all wait and go at the same time.

I agree on all three points.
I'm living kinda off when it comes to time.
Sweden is like 6 to 14 hours before U.S. time, so just give me a time and the difference between me and that specific time in the U.S. and I will be ready.

Actually, I'll just add in those who have said they'd like to so far, then we can give about a week for everyone to save their money to pitch in for both relocating homes as well as the new guild, as well as make sure everyone who wants to join is in when it starts.
I think after that it should be invite only. And we should have member OKs by all members before letting anyone in, Gaia is too full of scammers. rofl rofl

-didn't read the whole thing yet- What you could do if you're going to be taking 30% of earnings and putting them towards the guild is you could have a Christmas celebration or "holiday" celebration and people who have contributed more will get to wish for higher priced gifts. I mean.. I really don't think the rules of personal property really apply on Gaia... but I suggested this before for the GCP to get more people interested in this guild. Also, I'll put my art shoppe into this mix. I'm currently working on setting that up and getting my sample art done. My Free Art Thread. The free art isn't going to be going on much longer, but I thought I'd put that link up in the GCP for my comrades. When I get my shop up and running GCP members will have the highest discount possible (but not free you moochers! jk, but srsly not free). One last thing, I think this would be the perfect place for poison and I to implement our "reward medals". It all started because of a silly story of some Eastern European country that used to award women (and I think also the men) a medal for having 5 children, among other things. But why not rewards for raisins x amount of money for the guild. I mean... I can really see this thing working out if we get together. This could take off. /optimism rant.
