So, whether or not people knew, here's some news: I'm leaving for Europe in....oh, approximately 55 hours (just a tiny bit over two days). If you're thinking that ol' heph-y-la will be gone forever, don't you worry! I'll just be gone for a measly four weeks.

But, por quoi, you ask? Well, for one, "Por quoi" means "what for?" in French. For two, that has nothing to do with why I'm going. About a year ago, my sister got together with her boyfriend and his twin sister and said "zomg! We're graduating, why don't we, like, going to teh Europzorz!?" Mind you, that's not a direct quote. So they proposed the idea to my parents and my mom said (again, not a direct quote), "Well, I think I'd be more comfortable if there was a fourth person...." Actually, that might be a direct quote. So they talked it over again and invited yours truly!!
The plan:
(as I write this down, I'm getting a serious sense of deja vu. almost enough to check the threads from way back when to see if i've made one before.)
I get on the plane at 9 in the morning. that's the easy part. I'm alone for now (except for the possibility of two friends who are coincidentally on the plane). I fly to seattle and hang out in the airport for about five hours while i wait for the others to come in. i don't know how that plan came about, but that's what's happening. from there, we fly to dublin. i have no clue about layovers and whatnot, but, from there, it's dublin or bust.
once in dublin, we crash at a place called.....*racks brain*....i don't remember. but it's a hostel. anyway. we party there
(whether that's actually the real plan or not, i have no clue, but simply being in dublin will be party enough for me.) for (i think) a two days and move on to london. here's the tricky part. i don't know most of the rest of the trip. in fact, i don't think the other people going on it know most of the rest of the trip. pretty much, the only thing i know that i NEED to do is be in rome by the 10 of september. at that point, i'll meet my parents (who will have been doing their own trip) and we'll do some fun stuff (go down to pompeii for a day) and then fly home while the other three (my sister, her boyfriend, and his twin) go on to greece. so WHILE they're in greece, i'm back at home in school. i don't know how that plan happened, but it's even more absurd than me staying in the seattle airport for five hours. *shrug* whatever. at least i'm going on this trip.
um....there was more to this, but i don't remember it.
updates as i remember in the next two day.

it has also recently been pointed out to me that i often post walls of text. so sorry. the size has been enlarged for your ease of reading.

go figure. of course i've already made a thread about it! but, seeing as it's way on page three, i won't sweat it. enjoy this.

btw, i seriously did not make enough money as i thought i was going to be able to. in fact, without help from my grandmother, i would not be going on this trip anymore. *enormous sigh of relief*

on a different note, the job i got for the summer is closing down forever starting.....square root of thirty-seven, minus five, carry the six, divide it by eighteen....twelve hours ago. *shrug* fond memories.

also, while in london (commend me for remembering) we'll be going to a showing of "into the hood," a modern retelling of "into the woods." this version is, just imagine, in the hood. could you have even guessed that from the title? i never saw it coming. but i think it'll be hilarious. i'm excited.

i swear, i'll be running purely on excitement for the next couple days because i'm PUMPED!!!

Sounds awesome! Seriously, it sounds like it will be killer. Into the Hood sounds absolutely inspired, too.

A lot of people will tell you not to expect too much on day one or two due to jet-lag, but I say eff 'em (no, not really: I'm very polite to the bastards). How tired can you possible be if you've just been sitting around for n hours? I mean if I was cooped up in a chair like that at home, I'd do so much running around when I finally got out that I could (insert thing requiring preposterous amounts of running here). I hope the flight is fun and safe and that Dublin is fun and mostly safe-ish.

thanks, bez! i plan to do quite a bit of fun things on the first days (don't know what, yet) including several things that are illegal in the US for someone of my age.

Dublin is good - but a little too touristy, I went there at Easter though, and I really enjoyed it, to see Ireland properly you need to go somewhere like County Cork or County Kerry. London - I hate London. I have only ever spent two days there in my whole life, but that's kind of a thing where I live (disliking London.) Foreign tourists enjoy it most of the time. My Canadian exchange went down there for a week with her family - she thought it was fantastic. You have to go on the London eye, I went on that, andin my rural opinion IT WAS AWESOME.

Pompeii will be good, I've always wanted to visit there, and Greece is fantastic apparently.

Also, isn't pourquoi one word?

Yeah - I second that. Just drop by England and pick me up - you said it was on your trip.
Although it'll probably be too late now, and you'll have already set off.

we've been to zoos, lost passports (multiple), been bitten by many bugs, been threatened by landlords, and gotten lost, but the trip has still been great. when it's all over (in about eleven days) i'll tell you all about it.
