Intro
This will suck... Read this and at least read the Legend, please? It's in the next post. Then, if you want to not join, then don't. But this intro will suck majorly, so, yeah...
Title your PM the name of your favorite band.
Everybody knows about at least a tiny bit of astrology, be it just their star sign. Well, if you know your star sign, you have to know that there's a constellation out there dedicated to your star sign, right? There's Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer (no, not the disease!), Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Not many people know, though (or maybe you do?), that all of these signs are gods. Not creator-of-our-lovely-planet-Earth Gods, but like Greek mythology Gods... Sorta. They even have their own myths, legends, tall tales, etc.
This is the legend of when the Guardians of the Sky fell from their domain. And you control what happens. Sound like fun?

Legend
A long time ago, there was wor between the Guardians of the Sky and the Earthly Planes. The Earthly Planes, the planet before ours, had stood up against their Guardians. The Guardians had created their world, gave them life and gave them freedom, all for it to be taken granted for? No way. The Guardians were enraged. The humans claimed that the Guardians did nothing for them, and therefor turned their backs to the sky. The instead worshiped the lands beneath their feet, saying that the planet was the being that gave them life. It grew their food, it provided their shelter, it gave them air to breathe and water to drink. The humans knew that they were smashing the Guardians' buttons, but they didn't care.
The Guardians of the Sky were furious, to say the least. They held a grand meeting, and during that time, the sun would not shine on the Earthly Planes, casting the planet into night.
Aries wanted to wipe the whole planet into oblivion.
Taurus wanted to take away their resources and let them perish slowly.
The Gemini twins wanted to have the humans wiped out by the very animals they hunted.
Cancer wanted to harden their soils, stopping them from taking from the planet.
Leo wanted to set them on fire and watch them burn.
Virgo wanted to shrink them and see how they survive with their domesticated animals trying to eat them.
Libra wanted to make their world into a barren wasteland where nothing could thrive.
Scorpio wanted to infest their crops, waterways and homes with insects.
Sagittarius wanted to make the planet unlivable by having everything overgrow.
Capricorn wanted to have the humans destroy each other by creating some problem that would tear them apart.
Aquarius wanted to flood the planet.
Pisces wanted to reverse the human's evolution to a point in time where they were very impressionable and make them believe in the Guardians again.
They decided to follow Pisces' plan. Using their powers, the Guardians reversed time on the entire planet, back to the prehistoric-type of days. Then they made their way down to the Earthly Planes together and introduced themselves again, starting on a clean slate.
After all of that, though, the same thing happened.
Now it is the year of 2008. The humans have turned their backs on the Guardians of the Sky once again, but kept their legends, stories, and beings in belief, but only as stories. As false beings. The Guardians were unhappy, but would be content as the humans still recognised that they were there.
In the midst of the Earthly Planes, now just called Earth, though, a problem arose. It was a threat to the Guardians. At its birth, they tried destroying it. But they didn't. The held another meeting, the Earth sheilded in darkness again. During that time, though, the threat to the Guardians aged quickly, and grew in power. It rose to the stars and nleashed its power, knocking the Guardians out of the sky. They fell to the Earth as shooting stars. They fell together, in a circle. It was a miracle night for the Earth, as the entire planet was able to see it. After the Guardians fell, the stars disappeared and the Earth stayed locked in an eternal, starless night. The only light came from the Moon, which the evil being now inhabited.

Plot
The one who overtook the Earth and the Sky? He/she lives on the moon, has made the sun never shine on the Earth for an eternity and cast the Guardians out of the sky. What the legend doesn't say is he/she had some help. Twelve people's help, actually. They were energy beings who were living on the Earthly Planes until they decided to move again. The Shadow, as he/she is now called, asked them to help him/her take over. They didn't have anything to lose, so they threw the Guardians down to Earth while the Shadow took all the credit.
What happened to the helpers of the Shadow? They returned to Earth and poured their powers into twelve high schoolers, seeing something in each person that would strengthen the power. After that, they died.
The Shadow took on many minions, an army actually, to complete his/her rule.
The Guardians? They're stuck on Earth until they can find the twelve teenagers to help them get back to their domain.
In a nutshell:
--The Guardians are looking for each other and the teenagers.
--The teens are just discovering their abilities and juggling high school. They shall be referred to as Specials.
--The Guardians are stuck as humans. they still have their powers, but they're lessened.
--The Shadow? He/she is probably laughing. Very hard.
Are you going to be a Guardian of the Sky, a newly gifted human, a minion of the Shadow, a bystander, or the Shadow itself?

Setting
The setting is the present day America. We're in Utah, a fairly dry, mountainous state. During the winter, there's a shitload of snow.
The high school is your basic high school: drama, coffee, learning, trouble, friends, relationships, complications, teachers, lockers, books, etc.
The high school itself is very large. Surrounding it is the neighborhood. The homes in the area are built around the school and branch out like an octopus. There's parks nearby, work, stores, and nosy neighbors.
Umm... Sorry, I can't think of anything better. ^-^ If I think of more, I'll write it... Just like my intro... sweatdrop

Rules
I'm going to try to make this as simple and painless as possible.
--Follow the guild rules and the Gaia ToS. PG-13, people.
--Literacy. You got into this guild because of your literacy and I want to see LITERATE people. That means at least two paragraphs of at least five sentences.
--Romance. Yes, there can be romance. In fact, it's always encouraged. Violence. What would this roleplay be without violence? I encourage it.
--Cussing. I really don't care if you cuss, but limit it please.
--If you've read all the rules, highlight this entire post.
--I'm not going to make any posting format requirements, but I would like it if you stayed with your font color eligible, your font size between 9 and 11, and maybe an icon or two or a picture of your character [this part optional]. I really don't care if you don't do any of this. I probably won't make my posts very pretty, either. Too much of a bother...
--Basic things like no godmoding, powerplaying, Mary Sueing, Gary Stuing, etc.
--PM me your profiles. Do not change the profile layout. You can add color and fonts or whatever, but just don't add or take away anything. ANYTHING! If I make a typo or something, that's another story. I don't care if you fix something like that...
--I have the right to change, add, or take away any rules as I see fit.
--Have a question? PM me! Have a suggestion (which I really need...)? PM me! I don't bite! Hard...
--Follow all guild rules.
--I want you people to be active. That means post at least three times a week. Every two weeks I'll clean out the profiles that have been inactive. Guardians
Each teenager obviously has their own power. You can make it up. But refer to the rules: it cannot be all-powerful. It's not all-powerful, mind. Each Guardian has their own power. It's not all-powerful, either. I'll put specifics, as in weaknesses, cons, etc.
Striked out positions means that they're taken.
Italicized positions means they're reserved.
Just plain bolded positions means they're open.
NO ONE CAN USE THEIR POWERS FOR FOREVER. THEY EACH HAVE A PHYSICAL LIMIT AND HAVE TO REST A WHILE AFTER USING THEIR POWERS OR ELSE!
Guardians:
Aries: Controls fire.
--Can manipulate fire. Aries can use his/her fire for a long amount of time as long as it isn't put out and his/her physical limit hasn't been reached.
--The fire has to be already created to be controled.
--Water will put out fire. Air can strengthen or blow out fire.
Taurus: Controls earth.
--Can manipulate plants. Taurus can use his/her plants for any amount of time as long as his/her physical limits allow and as long as the plants aren't burned.
--The plants have to be already grown.
--Fire will burn down plants. Water will make plants grow or drown them.
Gemini twins: Controls air.
--Can manipulate air. The Gemini twins can use their powers for as long as their physical limits aren't reached and there is air.
--Air is everywhere.
--Fire uses air to burn, so it can 'absorb' some air and strengthen fire. Water needs oxygen, too, so it can do the same as long as it needs the oxygen. Water is denser than air so can block some attacks.
--Together, the Gemini twins are stronger.
Cancer: Controls darkness.
--Can manipulate the darkness/shadows/etc. Once again, there's physical limits involved.
--Cancer manipulates the shadows and the darkness. He/she can't create the darkness, though. It has to come from somewhere. He/she can manipulate the shadows to form something and can control that.
--Light, if strong enough, will 'burn' the darkness and make it go away. Fire creates its own light, too, so Cancer's powers are weak to fire, also.
Leo: Controls light.
--Plysical limits, people. Otherwise, our Leo would be much, much stronger that he/she should be. ^-^
--Leo can blind people for whatever amount of time. He/she can also burn people. Y'know... UV rays and all that? But his burns go farther... It's like (depending on what he/she wants) someone holding you under a candle or a bonfire. It all depends.
--Whatever changes of light he/she makes, he/she makes it to everyone but themself. Except for things like blinding one person. Darkness can smother light. Blinding someone will also heighten their senses.
Virgo: Controls animals.
--Virgo gets animals to bid him/her by simply wanting them to... Powers and all that. But if his/her physical limit has been maxed, they run off or can attack him/her. It also depends on the strength of the animal's will.
--If an animal's will is stronger than his/her powers (unlikely), then nothing will happen. If Virgo tries to control too many animals, their will together can break his/her hold on them.
--Light won't burn animals due to fur, scales, etc. It can blind them, though, but only temporarily. Animals are instinctively afraid of fire. it may be enough for them to break away from Virgo and run away.
Libra: Controls the weather.
--Making huge changes to the weather will void his/her powers and the change will either disappear or worsen. Again, physical limits also limits Libra.
--Libra can call in anything to change the weather. Weather changes can also cause climate changes. It will effect everyone.
--Air can push away the changes. Earth can return everything to normal.
Scorpio: Controls the body.
--Scorpio can levitate things and people. Physical limits in mind, people.
--He/she can also control the body. But like with Virgo, only as far as the other's will allows them. It never lasts very long.
--If anything happens to the person he/she's controlling, it happens to Scorpio.
Sagittarius: Controls metals.
--Sagittarius controls metals. His/her physical limits are much larger than the others' as metals are very hard to shape/control/bend/etc.
--He/she can bend metals into any shape he/she desires.
--Fire will melt metal if hot enough, causing it to become uncontrollable. Water makes metal contract, making it uncontrollable altogether or just very hard to bend.
Capricorn: Controls the body.
--This is different from Scorpio's talent. Capricorn can actuall enter another person's body for a short amount of time.
--Physical limits are involved. Capricorn can be in a person's body for whatever amount of time, but it tends to be short unless he/she finds a freshly deceased body to inhabit.
--Whatever happens to that body happens to Capricorn. Also, Capricorn's soul is what inhabits the other person's body. His/her body is left behind, hopefully in a safe place.
Aquarius: Controls water.
--Again, the physical limits is involved.
--The water has to already be there. It can come from underground or above ground.
--Air can supply water with oxygen, making it easier to manipulate. Fire, if very strong, can evaporate water.
Pisces: Controls sound.
--Pisces has physical limits, too. He/she controls sound waves.
--Pisces can send out sound waves in a physical force, but that's hard. He/she can make a person deaf permanently or not, or bring sound to him/herself. Ultra eavesdropping, basically.
--Sound bounces off of things. It has the possibility of bouncing back to Pisces or ricocheting off of something and turning back onto him/her, therefor damaging him/her. Water can also stop or soften the impact of the sound waves, or muddle the sound coming back to Pisces.

Personality: Tabatha is a bit of an introvert, and loves to keep to herself. She prefers to be alone rather than hang out with friends unless they're keeping busy in mischief. She often is seen with music in her ears or reading a book. Tabby tends to love mischief and is a bit of a kleptomaniac. She tends to have her heart in the right place, sometimes, and the few friends she had are close and she'd give up her life for them. She loves energy drinks and tends to be hard-wired on one. Bio: It's not like her life has been perfect or in the dumpster. She's the middle child, stuck between two boys. Her oder brother was aggressive towards her, so she fought back. Now she picks on her little brother and he annoys the hell out of her. Her father tends to have a short temper and prefers Tabby towards her brothers; they're constantly working together or watching movies together or something. Her mother, on the other hands, prefers to try and play dress-up Barbie doll with Tabby. She hates it. Hate isn't a strong enough word. Loathe, maybe. Her relationship isn't that strong with her mother. Her father still hangs out with her brothers a lot, though, and during those times, Tabby gets jealous and tries to take him back. Her loving cat died recently. It was ran over. Her father had to hold her back or else the driver of the car would be roadkill.
