This dorm belongs to:
Narcissa
Ciarin
PostPosted: Fri Aug 29, 2008 3:20 pm

(I'm making an assumption that this is a suite style dorm room, meaning three bedrooms share a lounge area, a small kitchen, and a bathroom, so each person gets a bedroom. As in, Saved by the Bell: The College Years, which I've modeled the floorplan after.)

Narcissa walked into the living area and locked the door behind her. She was not in the mood to deal with anyone except her roommate. Cautiously meandering through the rather dull living area with little interest, she paused as she saw the three different doors. Taking the one closest to the main door and farthest from the kitchen, she gently opened the door and stepped inside. Immediately noting the key and paper sitting on a table in the corner to her right along the south wall, she pulled her bow over her shoulders and gently leaned it against the same wall, the pack holding Narcissus's mirror soon following. Thankfully, there was a pen beside the paper. Clicking the end as was the nature of writing devices here, she began to write, the room shifting with each word.

The walls were painted a very mellow sage green, with white, guazey curtains around the window on the north wall. A similar curtain was put over the door to conceal it from sight, and pillars made of marble or some other kind of stone appeared in each corner, the make similar to that of the Ancient Greeks. Underneath her feet, the floors became stone tile with a sage green, forest green, and white rug coming over it to protect bare feet from the cool stone.

The table she wrote on was transformed into a writing desk, the wood made of birch that had been carefully laguered to preserve the natural beauty of the wood. On the east wall, she put a tall, elegant wardrobe made to match the desk, with a matching vanity on the right side of it and and a similar set of drawers to the left. On the west wall, she put a rack for her bow as well as a full-length mirror. In the northwest corner, she set caddy-corner a brown leather couch like what she was used to sleeping on, with only one arm and no back. Behind it she set a wooden trunk with latchings and a lock, to keep the mirror in as well as the winter blankets.

Speaking of, she went ahead and wrote down that both the thin, light blanket made of white cotton and filled with goose down and the heavier blanket, similar in make and filling except for being made of wool were laid across the couch, the two pillows she needed to sleep and a throwpillow for decoration following. As a last step, she wrote down the comfortable, armless chair for the vanity, made of the wood with sage green apolstery, and the chair for the desk, made of wood as well with a simple white cushion.

Laying down the pen with a sigh, Narcissa moved over to the couch and folded up the winter blanket, hiding it away in the trunk. Before she closed the lid, she went back to her things and placed the mirror, still in its pack, in there as well. The last chore she performed was to put her bow on its rack, taking off her wrist and shin guards and hanging them from the hooks built there for them. Sitting down on her couch with a sigh, she reached down and undid the cords holding her sandals on, kicking them off with relief. She was still annoyed with Leon, and laid out on her side on the couch on her left right side so she facing the door, one pillow under her head, the throw pillow sitting on top of the trunk, and the second pillow tucked under chin, her right arm wrapped around it to hold it to her chest as her left dangled down towards the floor.

With a tiny explosion of wind, and abnormally strong leg muscles, Ciarin manages to grip the edge of the windowsill to haul himself inside. How he knew this was his dorm, who knows. Whether or not he knew that there was an occupant in the room, who knows. None the less, the naive, childish wind spirit manages to make it just inside his dorm.
And a very fancy dorm it is.
Looking around in awe, Ciarin is especially fascinated by the pillars in the corners, never having seen something like it before. His mouth hangs open slightly in awe, as he takes in this wonderful, luxurious room. The room itself may not seem all that wonderful to some, but compared to the woods and farm houses he was used to, this was like the Ritz Hotel. Taking his first step in the room, the sound of his sneakers hitting the ground is heard, and Ciarin is sorry to have disturbed the blissful silence that had been the room moments before. Not yet taking notice to the room's other occupant, the young wind spirit stands by the window in slack jawed silence.

Sitting straight up on her couch, Narcissa demanded somewhat sharply, "Who are you?" The forest green pillow was still clasped tightly to her chest, and the white pillow her head had been resting on slid down slightly so it was resting against her hip. However, her biggest concern was the boy who had appeared in her room. The poor girl had been raised by three goddesses known as the Three Virgins, for pity's sake. A boy in her room was shocking and criminal. Not to mention her sulking was being interupted... Not that she knew that she was sulking...

Taken aback by the vicious tone of voice, Ciarin a step back. Not quite understanding how he'd upset her, the poor boy is hurt. "My....dorm too." he replies, struggling to put on an indifferent expression. He hadn't meant to frighten the girl, nor offend her as it seemed that he had. "I'm.... sorry." yet again, the strange pauses in his speech would drive someone in a hurry insane, though this girl didn't seem in a hurry so it was alright. In a hurry to get rid of him maybe, but that was about it.

"You're Ciarin...?" she said in disbelief. There went the idea that this was a girls only dorm room. Narcissa wasn't sure whether to feel appalled or not. Shaking her head, she softened her voice while keeping the tone firm, "You can't just walk into my room without knocking first. It's impolite. Especially because your boy." She would have to add a lock to the door if he didn't understand her, as his speech was indicating. Sighing, she relaxed slightly though she didn't drop her pillow. "It's alright this time, seeing as you didn't know I was in here. The shared room is through there," the clay doll said as she gestured towards the door, "and there are more doors there that lead to the other two rooms. You have your pick of them."

Ciarin nods, still a bit upset at her reaction. Moving towards the door to her room, he opens it slowly. Turning back to the girl once more he forces a smile, his expression apologetic. He nods once more, exiting Narcissa's own bedroom, and closes the door soft as a whisper.
Standing in the shared room, Ciarin glances around it, taking it in. A bit plain for normal standards, but with more furniture than he was used to. He moves towards the middle, laying across the length of the dark-fabric couch. Settling into it, Ciarin finds it to be surprisingly comfortable. Though, when you think about it, he was used to sleeping in a forest or in a barn. Wiggling around, he shifts into the most comfortable position he could find, and closes his eyes. He's barely been here a day, and already it seems he's upset two people.
Well then again, it was better that way. If he remained distant from others, than he would have no reason to become angry with any of them. And in the process, no one would get hurt. Except maybe himself of course, and maybe the feelings of another but it was for their own safety. They should understand that. Taking a deep breath, his exhaled breath makes the curtains flutter like a late breeze. Slowly, Ciarin sinks into the depths of unconsciousness.

The guilt hit her immediately. It became clear that this boy she was sharing a space with was like her, appearing to be much older than they actually were. Moving her legs off the couch, she pulled her sandals back on and retied the cords before standing. She opened her door and leaned against the frame, watching her dormmate fall asleep. Ciarin hadn't done anything wrong, other than interupt her sulking, which she now admitted to. Narcissa had been in the wrong to be so harsh to him. However, she didn't want to wake him just to apologize. Instead, she quietly closed her door again, sitting back on the couch and burying her face in her green pillow. She couldn't do anything right, it seemed.

After a decent nap, Ciarin sat up rubbing his eyes. Yawning, he stretches out his arms as they had been curled up for the last hour or so. Moving slowly, he moves his still sneaker-clad feet to the ground. After one failed attempt to stand, he's finally on his feet, yawning again. Naps are nice.... he shakes out his hair, some of which had matted to his head, and looks around the room. What was he supposed to do now? Well, he supposed he might as well check and see if the girl was still mad. Glancing around, he tries to remember which one was her door, and moves to the far left bedroom. He knocks, still unsure if this was the right door. If not, oh well. At least there wasn't another person here to answer it.

Looking up at the knock at the door, Narcissa wiped under her eyes as a habit. As a doll brought to life, she couldn't actually cry. However, that didn't stop her from making the gestures as if she could. She laid the pillow back on the couch as she stood, leaving it as she walked to the door. Opening it partially, she saw that her roommate was there. If she was capable of blushing, she would have. Instead, she said quietly, "I went to apologize earlier, but I saw that you were already asleep..."

"Why...?" he asks, not quite understanding why should she apologize? It had, after all, been he who had climbed rudely through her window. "I am.... sorry too." he responds. Nodding, he hopes that his message gets across. His communication skills, he'd realized earlier that day, were not that great. Standing rather awkwardly, the boys hands find their way to his pockets so that he doesn't begin to fidget. He's uncomfortable in the presence of others and especially, it seems, in the presence of a woman. Not quite 'learned' enough in the ways of people, he doesn't understand as to why he's so uncomfortable.

"I was rude too, the way I was so short with you..." she explained. Tilting her head, she went ahead and voiced her assumption, "You are not as old as you look, are you? Do not worry. I am not either. I have only been walking around for four years or so." Narcissa didn't note his nerves, not really aware of how to read other people yet either. It seemed like perhaps they would begin to get along better, or so she hoped.

"In human years...." he pauses, trying to count back. Four? Was he four years old? No no, six? "I'm.... five..." he says, the last word more of a question than anything else. He didn't really know, having nothing much to go off of. He was 'born' looking exactly as he did now, and he'd probably stay that way for as long as the wind blew..... so probably a little longer than most would ever hope. He shrugs, his expression still showing hints of confusion. Not really sure whether his statement was true. Ah well, it was probably close enough.

"You do not really know?" Tilting her head to the side, Narcissa tried to imagine not knowing how old she was. It was inconcievable, especially with the over-protective tendencies of her mothers. "How odd..." Unknowing to him, she could understand his predictament. Unless she was able to become mortal, she would always remain the same as well.

"I'm..... sorry..." he glances away, taking it that it was necessary to know one's age. "It all... blends." he says, speaking about his memories of his life. There weren't many that stuck out, most of his time spent wandering between small towns, but mostly farms and woods. His gaze shifts back to the girl before him, still a little surprised to find that she was in his same position. There were, it seemed, other people like that. "What... are you?" he asks, not at all meaning it offensively. The lost child-like expression in his eyes seems to prove this, and a spark of curiosity to back it up.
