Yes, my near and most dearest thing in my life (besides my boyfriend) was hit by a car. crying
On Friday I did a huge good deed by taking in some baby kittens for a friend. My friend found them and said they would be killed if they weren't fostered and she needed my help. So I took them in. When Pumpkin first saw them she just sniffed them and was okay...but once she saw both my boyfriend and I bottle feeding them and interacting with them as a couple, she got very angry and hissy. She ran outside when my boyfriend opened the back door. I figured she was mad but would come home.
A stressful weekend followed with no sign of Pumpkin. We looked for her for hours, went door to door with fliers and posted ads online. We even made our friend take back the kittens for a few days so we could concentrate on looking for Pumpkin, as well as having the hope if the kittens were physically outside the house Pumpkin would come home.
Then Monday morning in my calls to find my cat I talked to the animal controller and she was able to identify my cat. Pumpkin got run over on the street right by our house the night she ran outside. crying
So now she is back home...I dug a hole and buried her in the side yard where some lillies grow. It's very, very sad and devastating for me. This cat was like my child and it's very hard not having her here right now. I really don't know how I will handle this all.
If anyone has helpful advice about dealing with pet loss, please share them...or send links. I know this is a huge blow to me and I will need to work hard to recover from it.

EDIT: Whoops. Apparently I accidentally made this an announcement. Fix'd!

Oh no. crying I'm so sorry that your cat died. I don't have any helpful advice other than to let you know that I am thinking of you and praying for you. Pet losses are still so difficult, you get so attached to them. Lots of love and hugs for you, Citri.

i am so sorry to hear about your loss citri. i know what it is like to loose a pet. i lost my dog of 20 years in january of 2007 just after my birthday. i am still missing him like crazy and every day it hurts to know that he isn't here. yes we have another dog and he's a sweetheart and wonderful in his own respect but he's not 'my' dog. its hard and don't let anyone tell you to get over it. you wont. it is completely normal for you to feel the way you are feeling. take some time for yourself and remember all the wonderful times you had with her. *hugs*
