This thread's for people to introduce themselves, and their rats. =] I'm Nekojin, or Neko. I'm 19, a uni student from New Zealand, and I study biology. I'm primarily a cat fan (Don't hate me!) but rats are pretty awesome too, and I share five with my partner, Reagahn. Our five are all related, and are all hooded females: Clockwise from top, we have: Coffee: Coffee is Tea's sister, and is a touch darker than Tea. She has a coffee-cup-shaped marking on her back (If you squint and turn her upside-down...). She's 15 months. Sugar: Sugar is Tea's niece by way of her father's brother's relationship with Tea. (We bred Tea with him, bringing Sug into the family.) She's a darling, bright orange, and one of our bigger rats. Sugar's 11 months. Fog: Fog is Tea's daughter, one of a litter of ten. We raised her from newborn, and she's slightly wacko but so cute. Her full name is Fall Out Girl - because she was trying to explore the world but forgot to wait til her eyes opened. She's graybrown and 8 months. Tea: Tea is our oldest and most dominant girl. She is pale fawn in colour and loves attention - especially back and head scratches, and her coke-box-houses. She's 15 months old. Princess: Princess is also Tea's daughter and also an 8month graybrown hooded. She's the cuddliest of our girls, and the smallest. Her favourite sleeping place is inside our shirts, or riding on a shoulder.

Well, Neko has handled the kids introduction.Let meonly add that all fivelove being scratched under the chin, and any of them will drink spit from my mouth (To neko's extreme displeasure.)
I'm 19, Arts and language student, and dedicated long term rat lover. My boys are remembered in the pet semetary. Head on over and write a eulogy for those precious furballs not with you today.

Hello, I'm the bowler cap fairy. I have my two rats with me right now, their names are Tuxedo and Hugo. (Tux & Hugh for short. biggrin ) They are from the same litter, both dumbo eared and rex. (Dumbo eared meaning that their ears are larger and lower on their heads than normal, and rex meaning that their fur is of a soft and curly texture.) I don't have any pictures, (my digital camera basically died) but they are jet black. Tux has some white on his chest and sides. Happy to see other rat lovers! 4laugh

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I'm 21 years old. I work in a petstore, and I love it. My boyfriend got me into rats. At first we just wanted two, then we got Pina from a friend because she needed a good home, and I bought Guinness so she wouldn't be alone. This is Jade, he's my hooded rex. I have more pics in the other thread. He is the shy submissive rat out of my two boys. This is Blake, he's a dark silver dumbo with a white kissy spot on his belly. He's kind of macho, and dominated the cage. He's chubby, and cute, and squeaks if you try to pick him up lol. This is Pinacollata, she's kinda like a shy/wise older sister. She was my friends...although I don't talk to her anymore. She is a cute girl, and always looks like she longs to be with the boys. This is my boyfriend and Guinness, she's our baby. She is probably the most energetic, and she moves getting her belly kissed.

Hi there, my name is Nikki and I am 17 from Oregon. I have 3 girls 2 are related (Panda is Zelda's Aunt) there names are Panda, Bear, and Zelda. Pictures are in the other forum about where you have taken your ratties. My girls are completely different from each other, Bear is the alpha and my snuggle bug after she gets her initial excitement out of the way, Panda cannot sit still and is my ADD rat, Zelda is kind of timid and chews everything and doesnt always come when I call her. All three girls are so beautiful though and love to get attention and yogi bites and on occasion meat table scraps!

I'm only going to describe my five most recent rats because two of my others weren't really mine, and my first (and beloved) rat has been dead for over a year and a half, so I'd rather not talk about her.
Gooboo: She was my favorite of my five most recent rats for quite some time. Then it changed to her son, Jupiter, and then to his father, Pippen. xD She's quite affectionate for a girl rat (usually girl rats are more active and less snuggly, or that's my experience), she has black shoulders and head, and white body. She also has some black on her tail.
Rayray: Probably my least favorite (but I love her tons), but I'm starting to get the hang of her. On very rare occasions she'll bless me with a little kiss, and sometimes she climbs up to my face and stares at my eyes and sniffs my nose. She's brown shouldered and head, white body. She has a little bit of black on the tip of her ears which remind me of a Siamese cat. She's definitely the alpha of the pack.
Pippen: He's my little angel. He's all black with a white belly and feet. He LOVES to be pet behind the ears. He loves giving kisses, and riding on my shoulder.
Legolas: He was a beautiful, delicate white and gray rat. He was never as big as the other rats. He was extremely affectionate all his life to everyone. Pippen you have to spend time getting to know before he'll be a sweetheart. Legolas just loved everyone. He lived for 7 months.
Jupiter (Jupey): He was Gooboo and Pippen's son in a litter of 12 (Rayray had one at the same time, 10 babies). He was the only one of the babies we kept. He was extremely fat and large compared to the other babies, with a black head and a thin stripe of black going down his back. He had one big black blotch on his stomach, and I loved to kiss it, though he hated that. xD He lived for one year.
So yeah, those are my ratties. I wouldn't have bothered telling about Jupey or Legly since they're both dead, but I felt it wouldn't be fair to their memories.

My name is Kitaeru (Kita for short and to...just about everyone but my family, who use my birth name, which I don't like xp ). I'm 18 and live in Michigan, am currently working from home doing medical transcription...and am a high school drop-out due to falling too far behind (BUT, I do have plans and they are achievable). My mom and I currently have 17 rats - and that number will be going up to 20-23 within the next couple of weeks. We love our rats and they are spoiled rotten. I honestly wish I could take one or two of the rats with me everywhere I go, just because I want to show off my sweet babies. Currently, we have: Nanao, a black hooded girl who is about a year and a half Sai, a powder-blue capped velveteen dumbo, whose age is unknown (we rescued him from outside after his previous owners dumped him); he likes my mom, but I'm his mommy and he likes me best - probably because I was the one who primarily took care of and socialized him after we rescued him Lucky-Jitterbug (Lucky or Lucky-boy/bug for short) a 6 month old PEW boy - my mom's heart rat Ukitake, an American blue split-cap/stripe boy, who is about 15 months Lightning, a beige hooded boy who is about 6 months old Paws, a silvered black bershire, who is about 5 1/2 months Rin and Shizuku - beige and black (respectively) hooded sisters, who are around 8 months old Jackie Chan, a beige bareback boy who is 4 months old Mulan and TenTen, PEW sisters (and the daughters of Shizuku) who are 5 months old: Shin, a blue agouti capped boy who is about 8 months old: Mia and Portia, lovely black bareback/hooded sisters, who are over 2 (and still going strong!) Akiya, an agouti bareback (Shin's brother) who is also around 8 months old: Nao, a beautiful agouti berkshire girl who is around 8 months old And Isane, our sweet Siamese dumbo girly All of our girls are spayed, and all but three males neutered; we usually adopt from Huron Valley Rat Rescue, but on one occasion (with Paws and Lightning) adopted from someone in the area who had to re-home their rats. And, of course, Sai is our rescued boy - rescued just a few blocks from our house. We have three more girls coming to us for sure from HVRR, and possibly three others if someone else hasn't beaten us to adopting them. Also, for anyone interested in an all-rat forum, you should head over the Goosemoose Rats Rule forum. I'm over there, as well (username is Kita), and it's a great place to ask for advice and post things about your rats; there are a lot of experienced owners there.

MataVandermere dude. you have as many rats now as i have had over the course of seven years This is the largest group we've ever had. After our first four, we haven't had fewer than five (we've probably had close to 50 total over the past 8 years). The way we figure, we have the room, the time, and the money to take care of them, so we'll take in as many as we can. And what can I say? My mom and I are both suckers for little rattie faces. sweatdrop

Hello, I'm Fu. I like small animals and shiny things. I'm mummy to two gerbils and auntie to three rats.
The rats in my house are my flatmate's, but they're still my little nephews. There's Logan, the hyper girly himalayan; Raiden, the shy self champagne (I think) and Ares, the fat friendly mismarked black Berkshire. They're all dumbos and probably brothers but I'm wondering how the genetics for that work.
But I refuse to let my gerbs go unnoticed. I have two girls, Babybel Tiddlywink Black and Lucifer Apolcalypse X. Or Bella and Lucy. Bella's an extreme white spotted gerbil and Lucy's a black whitepaw. They're ridiculously friendly for gerbils and act like little rats.
I'll get pictures one day.
