This is a list of interesting websites about rats, or with cool ratty items, and such. It will be updated, and feel welcome to reccommend new sites.

At the moment, my top site to visit is The Dapper Rat.
That's www.dapper.com.au, and it has a link to supply the best rat wheels I've ever come across, as well as lots of awesome hammocks, tubelofts, and such.

Another excellent site that I found immensely helpful when we bred Tea was the Ratguide, at www.ratguide.com . I found it to be very informative, and the pix of the babies were incredibly helpful in knowing what to expect.
Also has care, health, and medication guide sections.

I would like to mention www.ratclub.org

New Zealand based, although they do ship to the States, Rat Club is a great source of toys, hammocks, chewables, including LAB BLOCK, a nutritionally balanced base diet aimed at rats.

Goosemoose is where I got a lot of my help from. It's a great site, but there can be some rude people on there.

My absolute favorite website would be 13moonsrattery they are so informative and if you have a question you can email them and they will answer. It is well organized and kept up to date. I also like the fact that they have a page of car basics and best place to get certain things, they talk about all the different kinds of bedding and why each one is good or bad and give links to every rattery they have done business with. I would recommend these people to anyone! mrgreen

That is very useful for home remedies if you can't afford a vet. (I swear by grapefruit seed extract!)

As a long time goosemooser, I want to defend the site. Yes, some of us can get harsh in defense of the proper care of rats or purchasing rats vs adopting from rescues or breeders. However, if you stick around, read other posts, and give us a chance there a lot of us long time goosemoosers that have lots of years of experience and have lots of good advice and love too ooh and aaah over cute pictures of fuzzbutts.

This has almost nothing to do with care for rats, but I found it to be quite interesting.

Here are some of my favourites.

http://www.ratsrule.com - Very good diet, lots of info, and lots of names!

http://www.rattributes.com/blog/ - The best hammock tutorial site I've found. It's where I've learned to make mine.

http://www.curiosityrats.com/ - This is the website that basically started me off on rats. Very informative with very accurate information.

http://www.spoiledratten.com/index.html - Great info particularly on varieties/standards.

I'm so surprised that nobody mentioned this site yet! I loooove them! The forum is supportive and helpful, and the health guide is the best I have ever ever seen. At least one of the moderators are vets.

RMCA (rat and mouse club of America)

They also have a list of rat friendly vets

Art section/literature section

They are in association with the rat guide that is previously mentioned in this thread.
