Curiosity made me want to add this question? Plus, I would like to know how you found out about Gaia?
I found out about Gaia from my kids. They were on for years though before I finally got around to joining. So, I basically joined because of them. They were having so much fun and so where their friends, that I wanted to get in on it and now we race to see who gets to get on the computer first. We have a "I call dibs next" system! blaugh

I think it was my sister who told me to join. Followed by the infamous why question and followed by stuff that I didn't even listen too then I joined anyway found out its fun and went from there.

It was the "Kids already on here Syndrome" I have discovered that may be the most common reason a lot of older Gaians join, lol.
The "kid" that got me here was kumagoro4ever.

I found Gaia one dark and blustery boredom filled night at around 4am, whilste playing the google game...

i was bored one night randomly wandering around on facebook and an ad blinked at me from the side of the page about Gaia .. so i checked it out .. then quickly made an account .. i have since then had a few friends join and then i found out that a bunch of friends of mine already had accounts LOL

I joined in 2005.
And I don't honestly know where I discovered it. I know it wasn't through a friend, because I found out they were on gaia afterwards. I must have stumbled upon it whilst searching around.

heard someoen meention it in passing. was curious so i checked it out and liked it. havnt made alot of friends on here to be honest, but the ones i hav made are real cool so i think its bin worth it

My best friend was on here, and one night i was at her house and she helped me join and gave me some cool items ^^
Im glad i joined, a year and a half ago i met my fiancee on this site XD

I joined because of my Bebe. I was sneaking up on him. He seemed preoccupied by this game, so I thought -ok lets see what's in there. I've joined without him knowing and during our voice chat, I started asking him about his profile and friends and it finally struck him that I'm a gaia member as well. I can't forget the laugh he had when I finally admitted that I've joined.

I was bored of the sites I used to visit, and someone said that this was a good one to go to. I almost missed the name and link, but I was bored, so I persevered. Joined, thought 'ooh, shiny avatars', posted like mad to get gold to get my 800g 'dream avatar', and then made every single one of my friends join, too.
