This thread is just for people to state random facts that are interesting, but aren't required for everyday life.
Some examples:
-Crocodiles and alligators cannot stick out their tongues.
-In Tibet, it's considered polite to stick your tongue out at people.
-In Greece, spitting on something is wishing it good luck.
-There are places in the world where people believe that a camera can suck out someone's soul.
-You can lead a cow upstairs, but you can't lead it downstairs.
-A duck's quack doesn't echo.

In China alcoholic drinks containing preserved snakes are extremely popular.

(Hardly seems worth it)

(Now that's more like it)

Walt Disney was afraid of mice.
Mel Blanc who voiced Bugs Bunny was allergic to carrots.
It actually takes about 8 or more people to tip a cow so all those things you hear about cow tipping, unless it was a large group, is fiction.
It is illegal to look at a moose from an airplane in Alaska (check the Weird Laws sub-forum for more)
An octopus mother will starve herself, even to death, in order to guard her eggs (that's kinda sad)
