Okay, when my dad bought the Wii, he bought a manufacturer's service plan for 2006-2007, and a retailer's replacement plan for 2007-2008.
If you read my other thread, I mentioned that my Wii's video output is messed up (it's not the RCA, I checked.) My dad called Toys R' Us, holding the warranty pamphlet IN HAND, and he hangs up the phone very angrily and says he will be contacting a lawyer.
When I asked what happened, he said that it turns out that any purchase over 150 dollars is automatically a service plan, regardless of what you pay for. It says that NOWHERE on the pamphlet, so as far as we're concerned that's not the case. When he asked the service rep where on the pamphlet it said that something over 150 dollars is a service plan, she would avoid his question.
I can get the Wii repaired, which is fine for me, but still, that's not the point. Point is we were taken.
Not good for them. evil
