Faline was in higher spirits today, even the mist didn't bother her as much as she circled her territory. Indeed she could now follow her scent clearly through the fog, she had finally defined the boundaries of the land she wished to claim. Nothing in all of Oblivion would stop her from creating a safe haven for those she would accept into her pack, those who sought steady stability, family, friendship.
She let out a howl of triumph and loped along until she came to a shallow stream. She was still crisscrossing the territory she had picked, finding sources of water, shelter, and food. It seemed that deer gathered along the edge of her land where the grass was lush. Rabbits were all over the place, their scent a part of the earth. There was some rocky outcropping, and streams littered the territory though Faline had yet to find their source.
"I will though, I'll make this a paradise, and if the gods try and take it from me...it will have to be over my dead body." She murmured to herself. She believed in them alright, but unlike others who looked to them for aid and the like she scorned the gods of both sides and wanted to carve her own path in the world that lay between.

Kyanos padded cautiously through the mist stopping once in a while to sniff the air for the scent of another hound -- for he knew this land was claimed, the scent-border surrounding it told him that much. It was during one of these brief stops that he happened to catch the sound of another hound's howl. Not an angry-sounding howl, just one of excitement or even happiness. Curious at this sudden outburst, he turned his ears back and forth, attempting to locate the source of the howl. He finally managed to figure out where the sound had come from, and once that was settled, Kyanos crept warily in that direction, hoping the wind would not betray him and reveal his presence by blowing his scent toward the other hound. He got close enough to hear the sound of a flowing stream and smell the scent of the other hound, which he noticed matched the scent of the area's border, then paused and crouched low to the ground behind a large rock to rest for a moment or so.

Faline's ears perked and for a second she looked exactly like the very deer she was patterned after, but then her posture and sharp eyes gave away that this was not prey. Her diamond blue eyes scanned the area with sharp awareness, the knowledge that another was nearby. The blasted fog would not allow her to catch the scent, she weaved back and forth slowly trying to locate it. Finally she stopped and barked out.
"Reveal yourself, if you are friend or foe! These lands are claimed!" She held a snarl back, but the rising surge of protectiveness was there. After all now she had a pack, others who she was going to make life better for, not just herself.

Realizing he had been discovered, Kyanos stalked out cautiously from behind the boulder, ears and tail low to appease the one who had claimed this land. "I mean no harm to you." he replied calmly, then after a pause added, "On the contrary, I followed the sound of your howl here, for it is not often that one hound finds another in this mist."

"It is for that very reason that I seek to clear the mist, I want my pack to thrive." She walked closer and offered a smile "I'm Faline, alpha of this land." She was proud to have gathered together the tiny band that she had, she knew others might come yet for friendship, for a safe haven to have family.
"Those who mean no harm are welcome, I don't tolerate fights, or poaching though, I'm trying to make this a land for family, for friendship and safety."

"Clearing the mist? A good goal to work toward." Kyanos said with a nod. Then he smiled back. "I wonder what secrets this mist hides. I may just have to find out... I have always been intrigued by the mysterious, and this mist is no exception." He thought for a moment. Then added, "How many are in your pack? And would you be interested in adding another to your numbers? There may be many secrets still undiscovered in these lands. My name is Kyanos, by the way."

"We've found the land is quite capable and friendly once your not going in circles. There are rabbits all around, we've got a den all set up, and I've found a few constant water sources...I must figure out where they all lead, I think I'll have to go wading." She forced her attention away from the issue of where the water was coming from and back onto the blue male. Her eyes narrowed as she examined him and she suddenly grinned.
"Why your Kyanos! I've met your sister!" She smiled softly "Infact I've asked her to join my pack, the invitation is open to you as well if your of a mind to be helpful." Her eyes roamed over him and she nodded softly before focusing on his eyes.
"You must have sharp eyes to have spotted me in the mist." She chuckled slightly "Your sister mistook me for a buck."

"You've seen my sister? Really?" Kyanos laughed slightly at the mental image he got of Zuli trying to hunt this alpha female. "Zuli and I had been wandering together for a while, but got separated when we split up on a hunt. What a coincidence that we'd end up in the same area again. It's quite an amazing surprise." This land was one of possibility, and certainly one that would be worth exploring, both for fun and as a favor to the pack.
"As far as your invitation for me to join the pack goes, my answer is a definite yes. You say you've found some water sources? Perhaps I could scout them out for you and try to determine where they lead. Every pack should have a good scout."

"She has joined my pack, I am certain she misses you...but now you can come and join, my pack was made so that families could be together. No longer will they part." She grinned and nodded happy at how close the brother and sister seemed to be, Kyanos would make a perfect scout while his sister would be an excellent den keeper.
"Your idea is perfect, I'm sure you'll have no troubles scenting the boundary of the land. Come I will lead you to one of the water sources." She moved to walk beside him, despite being an Alpha Faline enjoyed being beside her pack, encouraged by their input. She needed their opinions if she was to make the pack joyful and pleasing for all.
