And the house declines us a $700 billion dollar bailout. Yes I know spending habits have been horrible. But its kinda upsetting that we have to rough it out without this bill. Whats your opinion on the House's decision to decline the bill. Whats your opinion on Pelosi blaming Bush for the economic turmoil.

I thought the bill was pretty un-American and pretty much ignores everything capitalism and a free market stands for, so I was kinda glad it got rejected.

yeah, they made alot of conservative backed changes and it got passed in both houses. i was actually against it, but i think its just about the only thing that can be done right now. if this hadnt happened on the eve of an election, i dont think there would have been such a rush to get something passed.
i have a theory about how all this came into being. with the boom of the IT market in the late 80s and early 90s, our country experienced some of the greatest economic growth since the 50s. with people making more and more money in these companies, they were buying more expensive houses and cars and basically living beyond their means. by the time the IT boom subsided and kinda leveled off a bit around 2004, people started losing their jobs as these companies had to start making cutbacks to make up for the slowing market. when people lose their jobs, they cant pay their mortgage and they default. now we are experiencing the hangover from the big party weve been having for the last 20 years. its a perfectly normal economic cycle and it will correct itself. unfortunately if obama gets elected, it will likely happen on his watch and while he wouldve had nothing to do with it, he would be more than willing to take the credit for it. i would only be satisfied with an obama presidency if the house and senate were turned back to the republicans, which happens to be the trend as of late. in 92 bill clinton took office and in 94, republicans took control of the house and senate. in 2000, bush took office and in 2002, democrats took control of congress. so in all likelyhood, 2010 will see a shift of power in congress

Pelosi blaming Bush? That's funny, because the economy has been crumbling like crazy the last two years. Thats the first two years of a democrat controlled congress.

Sad but true...lol it really makes me mad when people say we are in a depression cuz it isn't true, our unemployment rate isn't as high as it was back then...the economy is constantly changing we are just having a bad year or two. sad

With due respect I think it is stupid to blame any political party as a whole for a problem. While the problem may stem from many high ranking members of said party the party as a whole didn't do it. My sister is a democrat and she is not involved in the whole economy in the toilet thing.
