Since it has mysteriously disapeared... I have reposted it!
So go ahead! Rant about ugly/stupid/impractical clothing you think should be purged!
I hate skirts that are wider then they are long... stare

I'm glad that I kept a backup copy of this long-winded post I wrote. Why is it that I always take a simple topic and go off on a tangent about morals? sweatdrop ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I despise most clothing I see now-adays, mostly because girls wear too little clothing and boys wear too much. When I say that boys wear too much, I am referring to the boys that wear extremely baggy pants that they have belted around their damn knees so we can all see their boxer shorts hanging out at the back. I don't know who started that trend, but they need to be shot repeatedly with a cannon.
I find it much worse in girls' clothing, though. Everything's about flashing skin and showing off body parts that were never meant to be seen. I don't wish to see anyone's a** crack sticking out of their low-rider jeans. I don't want to be able to see a someone's breasts through their see-through bikini-top blouse. It's disgusting. The worst thing is that that kind of clothing is showing up on kids as young as six.
One of my pet peeves has always been parents that dress their little girls in bikinis at the beach. I forgive it when it's a baby, because obviously it's easier to pull a two-piece over a diaper, but we don't need four and five year olds prancing around wearing so little. It's just been amplified now because parents are dressing their little girls in that kind of attire for school and regular outings. It's not cute, it's not cool; it's repulsive and shameful. They might as well tape a piece of paper on their kid's back that says, "Molest me". You'd think that because we live in an age where we have to be fearful for our children's safety that they'd cover their kids up more, not less.
I've kind of gone off topic, so I'll get back to the actual issue. Just a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I stumbled upon a powder pink "I heart Orlando" shirt at a Winners. It was absolutely hideous. The items of clothing I hate the most are all the ones with stupid slogans or images on them. Take the ones in those McDonalds commercials, for example. Anyone that wears that must have a bloody complex. It's all kinds of s**t about, "I'm so great, so get the ******** out of my way you ugly bastards". I obviously paraphrased, but that's the general idea. XD
Another T-Shirt I've seen that I absolutely hate had the saying, "You laugh at me because I'm different; I laugh at you because you're all the same." Whoever designed that T-Shirt really needs to think. Why would you make a mass-produced shirt carrying a slogan about being different? You might as well have the slogan, "I don't wear brand-name clothing" written on a Tommy Hilfiger sweater. It makes no sense.

While I do agree with you Kir, I also must point out that at places like beaches and such, small children have more of a right than anyone to go around almost nude. I don't mean bikini's those weren't designed for children, but I'm talking about children in say, underware and t-shirts. I've got to admit, from 1-6 I wore almost nothing other than shoes and hats. sweatdrop I'm also the type of person who WOULD wear an "I dated Ashton" shirt as a gag because I'm not one of the girls who wishes they DID date him. ^_____________^

Ugh, I HATE the slutty clothes on young girls- it makes me sick! No wonder young girls get molested if they dress like that! I'd never let my daughter out of the house if she dressed like that. I also hate the fact that ALL the clothes in the junior's departments are slutty- I can NEVER find anything that I like. And people wonder why I shop at hot topic- at least the clothes there are BAGGY. xp Ugh, and those horrible short frilly skirts that seem to be all the rage now. They just look so stupid!

I hate the shirts at Hot Topic with the pictures of Orlanbdo Bloom, Tom Felton, Danial Radcliffe, Elijah Wood, and Johnny Depp on them, as the respective characters they've played. While I would, and do, wear shirts with the movie title on them, I wouldn't want one with an actor's face, especially if it's a movie based on a book. It just adds to everyone associating Tolkien's great work with a bleach blonde pretty boy, or a set of great books that encouraged children the world over to read with the other bleach blonde pretty boy.
I also hate the skirts and shorts that aren't really there at all. How on Earth can anyone be comfortable wearing something that costs $20.00 and has about as much material as a washcloth?

Some of the Legolas ones annoy me, but as long as the picture isn't too bad... *shrugs*

I tend to get hypocritical sometimes :XP. I just don't like the Legolas ones. And I want the Merry/Pippin shirt becasue tehy're fuggin' hilarious, not because they're "hot." I'm just sick of everyone thinking that the actors ARE the characters they play!

I've got to admit, from 1-6 I wore almost nothing other than shoes and hats. sweatdrop They do have a right to go around with very little on, but I can't help but be apprehensive about it. If it wasn't for the fear of scary child-molestor types staring at them in a very dirty way, I wouldn't care if every kid on the beach below a certain age went around naked. When you think about it, though, a bare naked child would likely seem less provocative than a child in a bikini. It's that whole leaving something to the imagination thing coming into play. A naked child looks innocent and care-free. A child in a bikini looks she's being put on display and trying to look sexy. I've seen several string bikinis on little girls, and that's just horrible. Any person who looks at kids in a gross way would just adore the idea that the strings might come undone... Tankinis aren't so bad, because they cover almost as much as a one-piece. They're actually a good idea on younger kids who would have difficulty taking off a one-piece to go to the bathroom. Bikinis with words on them... another stupid idea. They have words like sassy on them... for five-year-olds! What. The. Hell. Anyway, on the topic of LoTR shirts and other merchandise, I'm so sick of everything LoTR related having Legolas on it. He wasn't a main character. He barely did anything worthwhile. He had five lines per movie. It's ridiculous. There should be more shirts with characters like Gandalf, Aragorn, Frodo and Sam. They at least managed to accomplish something. And no matter what anyone says, I will never be convinced that Orlando Bloom is hot. xd

I agree with you on the Orlando Bloom not being hot...there's just something about his face. *shrugs* There should be a lot more with Aragorn on it. I can't really say anything about Legolas because I adore that character, whether he accomplishes anything or not. I won't go into my feelings about Frodo.

I suppose my Legolas bashing was a bit unfounded. When I read the first two books I really did become attached to Legolas' character. When I speak ill of Legolas, I'm essentially speaking ill of Orlando Bloom and the commercialized pretty-boy he portrays Legolas as.
I just remembered another hideous clothing item I saw once. I think it was at Zellers, and it was a black shirt with silver sparkly lips all over it. I think that it had words on it as well, such as "Love" "Peace" and all that garbage they throw on shirts today without giving a thought towards the meaning. I also believe that one of the lips was placed in a very inappropriate area. sweatdrop

Yeah, they're cute, but that's not a reason to wear someone on your shirt! xp And I agree- there are WAY too much Legsie merchandise out there! I never liked Legolas all that much when I read the books, and the movies just made me hate the elf even more.

Ah! I fogot to mention these shirts I saw in the *junior's* department of Boscov's a few weeks ago. The fact that they were in MY clothing section scared me... they were these sports type shirt with something about being a princess on the front, then the names of celebrities (pitt, bloom, timberlake... yaddayadda) on the back. sweatdrop
