as stole from wikipedia Beltane is one of the four "fire festivals" or "greater sabbats". Although the holiday may use features of the Gaelic Bealtaine, such as the bonfire, it bears more relation to the Germanic May Day festival, both in its significance (focusing on fertility) and its rituals (such as maypole dancing). Some Wiccans celebrate 'High Beltaine' by enacting a ritual union of the May Lord and Lady.[4] In this sticky you may discuss anything to do with Beltane. You are encouraged to talk about how you include your children and what activities you do with your children.

Is all that we see or seem... This year I'm including my daughter more with all the festivals. This will be the first one she's truly going to do anything, including my husband. Up until this point I've been celebrating our sabbats alone. well so far I have a few ideas to include my daughter && husband.
We're making our own maypole using a chirstmas tree stand, large pole, && some pretty ribbons. well at least we're HOPEFULLY going to find the large pole. Tha's going to be the hard part.
We're also going to hang some prayer ribbons on the trees in our yard.
Me && my daughter are going to bless our garden [[Which she helps take care of! She loves our flowers =)]]
We're going to hang a branch or rowan tied with red thread above our bedroom doors && front door for protection.
&& Im also going to collect the morning dew for magickal use.
&& obviously not to mention our feast which I'm inviting very close friends. If we could we would have a a fire in our yard but the law here would not allow it. If so that would've been wonderful. I am going to give some libations of either/or milk, butter, eggs, && bread. Like the good old days.
&& that doesn't include any of the rites, invocations, && magick.
How about you guys?

seeing as my income dropped dramatically our beltane is right now a hit and miss project. Congrats on finally being able to include your daughter in your celebrations! my daughters first was Ostara 2008 when she was 1.5ish! Worse case senario, we make a may pole out of one of the many trees in our complex, have a small dinner with the faeries, and spend the day at a local youth center with it's wiccan owner. best case sanario we go to my parents place and use either their flag pole, a pillar in their cazebo (sorry I've no idea how to spell that) or a tree, and spend the day in the forest and visiting the elora goerge and grand river to see all the faeries, and do offerings, and have a bonfire, and and <3 I love my parens huse, it's our official ritual grounds ^^; but I will definately post what we do manage to do on sunday for everyones future reference.
hopeful meal plan for beltane 2009 includes but is not limited to pink lemonade icecream squares greek salad tuscan-styled devilled eggs stawberry lemonade roasted chicken with pesto stuffing shrimp and avocado with an old-school marie rose sauce
(all of the above recipes pulled from chatelaine june 2009)
as well as a strawberry wine for hey adults and sparkling grape juice for the little one(s).

Is all that we see or seem... Oh that sounds DELICIOUS! Wish we could join you! unfortunately Im rather alone in my town. The people who claim to eb either wiccan or pagan around here usually just pretend and/or believe they are but really arent. they think its more of a passtime or a hibby than a way of life. =/ ...but a dream within a dream?

people like that drive me crazy! I am having over a very special woman in our community, she runs a non-profit (obviously) youth center and shelter for the street kids in guelph Who'd numbers have rised since the recession, and guelph had more street kids then shelters BEFORE the recession, it's quite sad. Anyways she's a lovely woman and she's a solitary wiccan who lives with two of her 3 daughters and is separated so I thought it'd be nice to invite her to join in our family celebration.

Is all that we see or seem... How sweet of you! Everyone in this town can be quite rude so its hard to even invite someone or offer help. Its depressing what the world is coming to ...but a dream within a dream?
