as stole from wikipedia
The vernal equinox, sometimes called Ostara, is celebrated in the Northern hemisphere around March 21 and in the Southern hemisphere around September 23, depending upon the specific timing of the equinox. Among the Wiccan sabbats, it is preceded by Candlemas and followed by Beltane.

The name Ostara is from ôstarâ, the Old High German for "Easter". It has been connected to the putative Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre by Jacob Grimm in his Deutsche Mythologie.[10].

In terms of Wiccan ditheism, this festival is characterized by the rejoining of the Mother Goddess and her lover-consort-son, who spent the winter months in death.[11] Other variations include the young God regaining strength in his youth after being born at Yule, and the Goddess returning to her Maiden aspect.

In this sticky you may discuss anything to do with Ostara. You are encouraged to talk about how you include your children and what activities you do with your children.

This was always my children's favorite. We would have the Ostara rabbit hide eggs. We would have veggie and fruit treats which we would share with the faeries, along with any good chocolate treats.

So for any of you who may be having your Ostara this weekend, as many families match our sabbats with the holidays they get off, because it's more convient and more doable, I hope you have a very blessed weekend heart

So Ostara is coming again. This year I have been decorating blown eggs to hang on the Ostara tree, with Beatrix Potter characters (Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddleduck and Squirrel Nutkin), a Tree of Life, one with stripes of dried lavender and gold eggs with our names on to use as napkin rings for an Ostara feast. I am also going to make Hot Cross Buns and chocolates, as well as a ritual house cleansing. For Lotte, I'm going to hide fluffy chicks around the house for her to find with a present at the end.
How are the rest of you planning to spend Ostara? Or what crafts/rituals are you doing?
