as stole from wikipedia In most Wiccan traditions, Yule is celebrated as the rebirth of the Great God,[6] who is viewed as the newborn solstice sun. The method of gathering for this sabbat varies by group or individual practitioner. Some have private ceremonies at home,[7] while others hold coven celebrations.[8] In this sticky you may discuss anything to do with Yule. You are encouraged to talk about how you include your children and what activities you do with your children.

Merry Meet and Happy Yule to all. This year our family will attend the Pagan Sunday Brunch in Ottawa and spend some time with the community. Afterwards we will go home, have a small but simple rit, light up all our holiday lights, feast, sing, exchange gifts and make crafts. My children range in age from 12 to 16 and we don't really highlight the theme of 'giftmas'. It was really tough to counter traditional stereotypes with them when they were younger, but I'm glad we got through it. What are you all up to this season?

For yule 2008, Anastasia will be 2 heart
First we put up our tree (first time i've ever put up a tree *dance* i decorate it with two ribbons, one white one red(red was suppose to be gold like the sun) then anastasia puts all the decorations on (whick seems to include her toys lol)
we also do lots of crafts through out dec, mostly (cut &) paste. i cut out all the pieces ahead of time. I drew a yule log and berries, leaves ect. i let her colour them all in prior to cutting them out. i then let her tell me where to glue them (some things have dotted outlines to teach her to match)
we are suppose to get a yule log and me and my husband decorate it and it sits at the end of our table when we have our yule dinner.
we also do an advent calander the week of yule. each day (starting mon this year) we give her a gift to open. (she gets too sugar high too easily) this is a tradition i'm starting to make it more affordable and less about gifts.
we also preform a rite (with friends) thats very child friendly i got from a friend on facebook
then on dec 25 we celebrate christmas with our christian based families.

^-^ My first yule with my daughter.
WE have a small, very obvisouly fake tree. Since, for me and my sister, the colors of Yule are red and gold, a red and gold ribbon goes around the tree with decorations. I have been searching for more Pagan like decorations, and found pretty fae ones with viewing balls. maybe a mouse, to remind me of my own past. A St. Nicholas will go on top, He was a good man and i believe deserves a place in my family. We say good bye to the night, and welcome a reborn sun. Yule is also when we write our wishes for the world, and burn them.
A small rite for myself, as my alter space is small, and little ones do not get to be around candles just yet. Yule log will be prayed on and burned.
Many happy blessings to all, as the holiday season is on us!!

This will be my first Yule with our daughter as well. However, my in-laws will also be here over the Yule/Christmas period (they're not pagans), so we are going to celebrate both. Probably not too much on Yule this year, but I am planning on cooking a Yule feast with an eddible Yule log! Though, I might try and stay up on my own all night and do a private ritual to welcome the newborn sun.
