It wasn't long before Khalina was back with Maia with their precious supplies. First she put her foodstuffs into the tiny cabinets in the treehouse, reflecting on how they needed so much more room. Maia remained down on the ground, leaning listlessly against the trunk of their tree.
Grabbing a small trowel she'd pick up with their supplies, she scrambled back down to kneel before the limp dryad. "Now, I met a new friend today, and I think you'd like him," she began, gently pushing away the sagging tendrils to begin turning the earth under her, drawing some of it away to create a hollow beneath the floating orb that supported Maia.
"His name is Murron, and he is a gardener." She continued to gently turn the dirt over, removing some. "I've told him about you, and he gave me what might amount to medicine for you." She stopped after a sizable bowl in the ground was formed. "There, that should do it," she commented to herself, dusting off her pale hands. "Now, for the soil."
She tugged the bag of enriched pottiong soil close and tore it open. The plastic bag didn't open cleanly, though, and the precious stuff spilled unexpectedly. Giving a little gasp, Khalina hurriedly shoved the bag beneath Maia, earning a sleepy mutter in protest but nothing more. Carefully the unicorn girl dumped enough in to fill the bowl and heap just slightly up. Satisfied, she tipped the bag back up and twisted it shut. There would be enough for one more treatment of this sort.
Next came the water. Quick as a squirrel, she darted back up into the treehouse and grabbed a watering can. Back on the ground again, she worriedly stroked the dryad's grassy hair. "I'll be right back, Maia. I have to get you some fresh water." Troubled by how her friend didn't even stir or respond, she turned to move quickly down the path towards the nearest spigot.
