Hey guys. If any of you live in California, specifically around Sacramento, the Sacramento Communist Club is apparently holding a fundraiser for PWW (a Communist/socialist news publication). I'm going to do my best to attend (spaghettiiiiii!!!) and am inviting a friend or two of mine irl, as well as all of you. Which I think it's okay if people who weren't invited like I was attend. I think...I'll have to check.
Would be awesome to meet some of you IRL. I'll see if I can take pictures and share them!

Opposite side of the country, unfortunately. My girlfriend lives somewhere over there though, so I'll see if she'd be interested, or if she's close enough.

Sweet! I can give her a ride if she's not too far away. Still haven't gotten a reply from my socialist friend, though.
Sam Webb of the CPUSA is going to give a speech there, you may not like the CPUSA but that's pretty cool.

She may not want to go- She's not a communist, or even considering communism seriously. She is blissfully ignorant. But she has a kind heart, and so I trust her to see the light eventually. I'm slowly exposing her to facts of capitalism and it's affects on the media and global war. I can sense her resisting what I say, but also knowing it to be true. I was similar, I didn't really want to believe that America was an a*****e nation, but I came around.

If she likes Obama, it may help, since apparently the main topic of his speech will be Obama (and the CPUSA endorses him, though I wish they'd endorse Nader or put out a real communist as a candidate), so she might be more open. smile

We didn't endorse Obama, we just thought that struggling to get him elected would create a better situation. I'll explain CPUSA electoral policy and strategy prolly some time next week. I've got a lot of projects to do today and tomorrow and then I'm heading down to Georgia to protest the school of Americas for a whole weekend!

She didn't like either of them. I don't either, but if one of them will ******** it up less, it will be Obama. Probably, at least.

Hey Divine, I don't want to butt in on your relationship, but something you might find helpful, don't mention communism when she's had a bad day. XD It seems simple enough, but way back when before I came around if I was having problems with my stepdad sometimes my boyfriend would be like "well he's a capitalist pigdog" and while it was sweet that he'd get mad with me, it would just annoy me.
