Candy sighed and padded around the bleak and desolate place. The mist was everywhere and had yet to clear. She really had to watch out, she thought, when she felt her antlers tangle in yet another rotting tree. She had recently gained a growth spurt and she was unused to her new height. Everyone else looked shorter and the ground was farther away. To make it worse, her legs still thought the ground was only a few feet under her and she tripped often. At least Oblivion seemed emptier than before, so no one could take note of her embarassing actions. She hadn't seen any new faces, in fact, any faces at all, recently.

 Diamonte hummed happily to himself an old spanish song his mother used to sing to him when he was a whelp. He sniffed the air and then jumped into a tree quieting his breath so he could listen to the world around him. He laied down on the branch and almsot blended with the gray ash color that covered the tree, only he was a bit more sparkly. The sliver braclet on his arm shined in the fog, but only so that people who got close enough could see it.
Before long he was dozed off and dreamng of his best friend and possible mate Zuli. When something wriggled his tree, he opened his eyes and yawned lazily/ Glancing down at the cold ground he spotted a brightly colored female that appeared to be candycorn.
"Hola senorita"

Candy shook herself, preparing to set off once more until she heard a voice. She jumped, startled, and looked around for whoever spoke. Seeing no one nearby, she flattened her ears nervously, and called out in a small voice, "Um... hello?" She tilted her head and took a tentative sniff of the air but could only smell the fog. Something glinted in the corner of her vision, only now noticeable because of the way her head was slanted. Curious, she peeked up at the shiny object, which looked like it was on the tree. How strange. Why would trees want jewlery? And how would it get it on in the first place? she wondered, her eyes trailing across the long branches. She caught a glance of Diamonte's antlers but didn't look at them too long, thinking they were only branches. She looked around again, trying to convince herself that she wasn't hallucinating, and that the voice had come from someone.

The sliver male stood up and shook off his fur a little before jumping down behind the candy colored femme.
"Hola senorita" Diamonte's voice held a suave tone to it that his other friends said was very calming. He looked at her coloring a bit closer and decided that she was definatly a candycorn.
"Como te llamas?" he asked tilting his head to the side to see if she could actualyl understand him.

Candy scrambled back when she saw part of the tree fall, landing on her haunches. She was surprised to see it was just a hound, like her, with long fur on his head. "Hello..." she murmured, unsure of what he was trying to say. The 'hola' part sounded similar to a 'hello' at least. 'Senorita' sounded like 'senior' though, and she wondered if he was calling her old, or just making fun of her young age. It didn't sound like that, however, and she flicked her ears, confused. She glanced around nervously when she noticed him staring and stood up, just for something to do. She could only watch silently at his next words, wondering what he was trying to say. Staring at his lips didn't seem to help. "Um... I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're trying to say." she said, pawing at the earth nervously.

Diamonte chucked and blew some hair out of his eyes before looking at the younge hound again. He was at least a year older than her, she could be his little sister.
"Its alright chica, lots of honuds cant. I said hello miss whats your name?"
He watched her happily keeping a sencire smile on his face the whole time. It was true that most honuds couldn't understand most of what he said, that was how he could fool people. It was his secret weapon, if some ohunds thougth he couldn't speak english he could hear stuff that they normally wouldn't say.

Candy smiled softly when he spoke. This male seemed nice. "Oh, my name is Candy." she said, her earrings tinkling softly as they brushed against each other. "What's yours?" She wagged her tail slightly, liking this male. Her expectations weren't very high. One just had to be polite for her to like them. She examined the trinket on his arm while waiting for his reply, recognizing it. She blushed when she remembered that she thought he was part of the branch and her eyes flitted to once again look at his strange head fur. She saw his eyes for a moment and noticed how dark it was, so dark that it didn't stand out much from the rest of his silver self.

Diamonte smiled at her and noticed her wandering eye to his cuff. "Diamonte senorita, and Candy is a very sutting name as you are candy colored"
He looked at her jewely and smiled "you wear jewls too?"

"Diamonte?" she asked, just to confirm. She blushed at his next words, "Thank you. My parents named me after my coat." She sighed, her ears flattening against her head for a moment, remembering them. She shook her head to clear the thoughts. "Oh, yes. They're made after my favorite type of candy." she smiled, looking at his arm band. "Yours is very beautiful." she said, motioning towards his front leg. "Where did you get it?" she asked, peering at it curiously.

The sparkly male thought for a moment, hed gotten the braclet so long ago the story of its making was far from his mind.
"My sister, she gave it to me when we were still living together. It is engraved with my name on it" He said lifting his paw to show her the intricatly curved lines that made up his name.
It was his most prized possesion and would never give it up. The only person he would give it to was to his true love.

"Your sister? It must be nice to have something to remember her by." she said, smiling softly. She lowered her head some, tilting it slightly to get a better view of his name on the trinket. It was hard for her to make out the letters, as she wasn't a very good reader. What could anyone read in this place of never-ending fog, anyways? Her parents had taught her some basics, though, in case she ever wandered into a village. She thought the idea of putting ones name on the jewlery was a good idea. At least it helped against theft... if you could find whoever stole it in the first place. "I just made mine myself." she said, abashed. No one had ever taunted her for wearing rocks and pebbles around but who knew?

"Yes it is, and you are very creative" He said staring at her ears for a moment then looking down at her face. "What kinda stone did you make those out of?" He knew that they weren't metal of any sort because when they clinked togther the sound didn't ring.

"Oh, thank you." she said, blushing once more at the ground. Her ears flickered, making her earrings clack once more. She thought the sound was nice, although she figured it might scare away some prey. "Um... I'm not sure, actually." she said, chuckling nervously. "I just picked the ones that were the right shape, since I'm not strong enough to shape it myself." she said, looking intently at her necklace as if seeing it for the first time. She pressed her ears close to her head and braced herself for the insults she thought would come.

"Thats very smart of you, i would have never thought about scearchnig to find the right stone" He said with a kind smile, he sat sown and brushed his tail along the gronud.
"So tell me about yourself? Do you have a family? a mate?"

Candy sighed in relief. She wasn't sure she could handle insults right now. Her self-esteem was low enough as it was. "Thanks." she said quietly, staring at her paws. Her tail wagged slightly and she sat down when he did out of habit. She realized she was sitting down only when he spoke. "Oh... um, I left my family a while ago." she said, leaving out the fact that it was becuase they had died. "I used to have a friend but we lost each other." she murmured, her eyes getting a faraway look, as if reliving the experience. She blinked a few times and her eyes cleared. "I haven't found anyone to be a mate with, yet." she finished, raising her head. She was so close to him that her nose brushed against the tip of his hair. "What about you?"
