Sheesh, people!! Read the manga from the VERY BEGINNING and you'll see that Kei actually liked Hikari the moment they met!! rolleyes Sheesh... rolleyes
Kei loves hikari because when they fought, he expected hikari to hate AND avoid him but instead, the more Hikari went after him and tried to defeat him.. mrgreen Get it now? heart so sweet right??

Well...
It was obvious when you are already reading (or watching) the story...Kei was so protective of Hikari. It means that he is already in love with her. eek Kei was so pathetic he even addressed Hikari as a "burden" just because he wanted Hikari out of the wrestling game: S-A v.s. Student Council. He wants Hikari out because he doesn't want Hikari to be hurt and he doesn't want her to be underestimated by the Student Council.And then...time flies, Kei doesn't lose his love for Hikari. It means he was in love with her for a long time ago (since they were kids)... heart

Kei loves Hikari, a fact that he does not deny, and has loved her since they were children. However, he has not confessed his love to her because he knows that Hikari does not understand those feelings and would think that he is referring to a love between friends.
