In this topic I will give my fellow guild members some Role Play tips, I invite others to give their tips as well biggrin !
I know we have all come across a bad Role Player in a good RP. Kinda ruins the whole thing dosen't it? Now whether this is you, if you know it or not, or you know some one who is or you just want to be a better Role player and improve your style, this is the topic for you!
Here are some tips that I have gathered from my own personal experience:
~ When RPing with others make SURE you never use something like this " *runs around* ". *'s are not good RP form, sure their ok in say a PM for fun but in an RP, never. Instead try something like this; "the woman ran around" or "Sarah ran around".
~ Remember to use quotes to speak, if you don't things may get lost and hard to understand. And if you are RPing 2 or more characters, remember to make the text another color for each speaker or find your own special way of making it clear that person X is speaking and not person Y.
~When speaking in OOC use (, ((, [ or something to make sure everyone knows its OOC!
~ Stay in character! If your character is a bitchy power-hungry jerk, they cannot change due to how YOU are feeling that day! They must remain as such until something in the RP changes them.
~ Make sure you know everything about your character before you get started. Don't just jump in and say your character has had a bad child hood without working out the specifics! Put everything in your description if you don't want to write it all out for your own use. This character is an extension of you, you need to know why it feels the way it does and why.
~ When involved in an RP, do not use TekTek images as your reff.
img. Its impersonal and looks crappy! If everyone else is using anime pics, do the same. And please ( I find this cuts down confusion) post a pic of your character in every "in character" post you make! That way people can remember what your character looks like, and see them. It also helps when you are playing multiple characters.

Haruka covered a lot above but their are just a few things I would like to add.
If your caracter were to ever change, it would only be due to emotion (and that is ONLY temperary.) If she were to change due to emotion, then specify in the rp what made you sad or happy. I know this is pretty basic but I have seen people do this before and it confuses the hell out of me.
When applying for the forum, read the rules first!!! I hate when people just post their profile and start rping when it clearly says in the rules to pm the profiles. Also, even if you do pm the profile, some people like to make you put in specific things, like a smily or title the subject something random. I personally like it when you have to title the subject, it makes it easier for me to not have to think up a subject. If they don't have specifcations to their pm profile, then put the name of the rp in the subject, to make sure they don't confuse you with another rp that they have.

[ilikeike would like to say a few words....]
I just joined but as a rather experienced Roleplayer (if i do say so myself) and I get rather peeved at some things.
1) This is the biggest and most important thing that I really would like to stress. One word: PROOFREAD. I cannot tell you how much I hate it when people misspell something and then don't fix it! It's really rather confusing.
2) Punctuation please!! No run-on sentences!!! A period here or there won'y kill you.
