Since my pork plant accident where the 60 lbs (28 kg) box fell on my head.
Well, technically I'm over a couple days, since it was Thursday that was the anniversary (December 4th)
I've been feeling really weird lately, especially on the fourth. I was anxious, on high alert, and very very emotional. Then very depressed (I slept the whole evening, was up for a couple hours hating life, then went back to sleep)
So... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY OF THE DAY I ALMOST DIED AND EVERYTHING WENT TO HELL.
Well... everything went to hell until I was able to take control of my life again... but that took a couple months. Everything was just going wrong. It was horrible. But now I'm so much better off from the entire experience. I don't think my ex would think I'm the same person if we ever actually saw each other (saw each other for ten minutes about a month ago lol)
There are some long term effects that I've noticed as a result of the accident though:
- shoulder, neck, and back will never be the same. Although they are getting stronger now that I'm going to the gym (couldn't lift ANYTHING after the accident on my left side - now I can do exercises with a 15 lbs dumbbell!) But they will always be in pain. I doubt that will ever go away.
- my memory has been affected. I've always had a really good memory on events of my past. The two months after the accident are fairly blurred, and everything from then to now I have troubles recalling without someone's help. I used to be able to list off every meal for the past two weeks - now I can't lol.
- memory has also been affected with information extraction. I have troubles coming up with words - moreso than before. I've always had this problem, but it used to be with more technical or 'bigger' words. Now I have troubles just describing something. And this is really noticeable at school - especially during tests (I'm fine for multiple choice, but fill in the blank type stuff I'm screwed)
For example:
1.The ____ is the largest bone in the body.
or
2.Clouds are *color* and *texture* things in the *location*
My answers:
1. That bone in the leg that's between the hip and the knee that is stronger than concrete and the hardest to break.
2. white, ----, ... up there
crying
Real answers:
1. Femur
2. White, fluffy, sky
So now I have to study WAY harder than I used to (I used to only do a cram session and I'd get good marks - now I have to study for at least a week in advance just so I can remember the damn words)
