New "Promo" Cards

So, around last week, a few "promo" cards for the new Magi-Nation game by Cookie Jar appeared on e-Bay. I was lucky enough to win the bid, so; I now share them with you.

They seem to work exactly as the old game, and they are even re-using some on the images.

A few notes: The "promo" packages seem to be random as I got some repeated cards in different packs.

Can't say I'm too impressed with the card design. It's not really horrible or anything, but it's not exceptional either. confused
And the flavor text lacks... Flavor. So to speak. >_>

What do the backs of the cards look like?

They definitely should have kept the original design for the backs. -_-

Wow, seems I missed something pretty surprising while I was away! So those are the new cards, hmm? Not bad, I was expecting much worse. Certainly not good, but at least they didn't completely ruin it, right?

um...It's more or less the same back but they colored the Hyrens...still not very good use of the colors...

It's not the original, but I wasn't expecting that anyway.

Overall, stand alone; Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Won't fill that void in my heart, but I sure as hell am going to track some down.

edit: They.... They changed the Relic Stalker's flavor text.

Well, if you were to use designer card sleeves (the ones with the opaque backs) you probably could. If the game progressed to the point of official tournaments, probably not for those, though.

Wow. . .those are really depressing.
It just seems like they're missing the. . .charm the old game had.
Like we were sent back a grade or something in school.

It is a small saving grace that the art was spared but I feel bad for Korg, not even Bograth would want that new version of him as king.
