It's time we took drastic measures, mis amigos. Our guilds are dying. I've noticed a trend: a guild has sporadic activity, rather inactive, etc. Then another guild pops up, and activity switches to there, before it evens out and both guilds end up inactive. I am not pointing fingers, as no one intends for this to happen by opening their own guilds.
Why is this the case? I'm not sure, but I have a theory. The new guild attracts people because they wish to establish themselves within that community, and to make welcome any possible newcomers to the world of macrophilia. However, as this fades, there comes pressure to participate in both guilds, or, as in the real case, three or four guilds. Also, the total Gaian macrophile community may be unevenly spread across these guilds.
Here's my proposition. We need guild-merging. I've thought of three ways to go about this. If anyone has other ways, please tell me.
1.) Merge the other guilds into the most populous guild. That would probably be this one, here.
2.) Merge the guilds into the most active That's really hard to say which one is most active.
3.) Form a new guild, merging all others into it. This plan is my favorite, because I have an empty guild that could suit this purpose.
Now, to address any concerns that I may be trying to seize power in the macrophile community with the third plan, let me mention that if you are a guild owner and decide to merge into my guild, if I make it, I will appoint you a Vice Captain. This means that you basically own the guild, as well, since you have all the power of a Captain. This takes an immense amount of trust, to leave my own guild up to a whole group of others. Also, if you are an active Crew member in one of those guilds, you will be a Crew in that one. I truly wish to mesh the communities seamlessly.
Additionally, I have extra incentive in mind. If you are willing to merge your community with mine, I will repay you, monetarily (Gaia Gold, of course, not real money!). I am a bit short on dinero at the moment, but if need be, I will give an I.O.U... and I am very much a man of my word. I will pay you 7.5K baseline, plus 1K for every subforum, and 20% of any unused investment funds. That is a far better deal than Gaia itself offers you (which is nothing).
As to RPs currently going on in the guilds... that is difficult to address, no matter which of my three solutions we choose. To transfer them in their entirety would be a hassle, to be sure. Needless to say, any member is free to re-start the roleplay in whatever guild we merge with. A full transfer can be attempted, and if one is, I will try to help as much as I can.
Now, keep in mind that I am not really a very influential person in the macrophile community. So, these plans are just suggestions. Attempts to reboot. They are not orders, they are not dictations, they are simply... ideas.
